Yeah, leave british monarchy! It is one of the oldest and the most traditional one all over the world. It is just the great franchise of british people. And in fact, it is cheaper than polish president (I'm from Poland, i have seen costs of our president office and it is about few millions more expensive)! Imagine, what would be UK without monarchy. United Republic, UR?
I don't know why but I just love watching royalty. They just seem so elegant and well, royal. I guess because I'm American and we don't have royalty but I love watching it! Catherine looks so beautiful and William so handsome. And the queen looked so proud. :)
@MrFreddieBurgoyne Even a republic risks the chance of having "over-privileged thieves." Of course the UK doesn't need the monarchy. The people will abolish it when they are ready. I doubt this will solve any serious problems, though.
@jensmom604 totally!! william can indeed afford to have hair transplants. why is it the royal family let themselves go like that? if one has the money to improve their appearance, they should do it. he's constantly being photographed and kate spends a fortune on clothing, hair and makeup artists. so couldn't william take a step in that direction too lol?
@cmariej1 Because they don't want to be chavy, plastic celebs. The day they go in the same league as gormless WAGs and celebs is the day I join a republican army.
@SuzLa1 I do have to disagree with you in regards to Kate. She does come across as a chavy, celeb want-to-be. For instance, her wearing the 800 pound Alexander McQueen dress to mingle with the very impoverished riot victims. She was dressed for the camera and not at all there to support the people. She has advisers, so why is she doing such blatant stupid things? That dress was way over the top, she wants attention when she should be showing support to the people. SAD!
When Queen Mum was visiting the victims of the blitz, she was also dressed wonderful. She was asked why. Simple answer: they dress best when they visit me, so i do likewise.
@rivenoak yes, i've seen that same comment before regarding queen mum. but times have changed, & we aren't talking about "the blitz", this was for the family members killed in riots, buildings & homes burnt to the ground, people who lost everything and did not possess clothing or "their best", because they simply never had such clothing. kate was dressed completely wrong for the occasion plain and simple. people in that area who rioted literally killed to obtain clothes like she wore.
yes Salmond is stalling..but i meant that Cameron would go NOW with a vote knowing it would get a NO vote. The UK government as it stands does NOT want Scotland to leave the Union...Salmond is not going for the simple yes / No vote , which I'd be happy to go with, but is dithering over how to put it to the Scottish public so as to get a YES vote. So even he knows that a totally independent Scotland still won't be seen. Possibly breaking the Union in these economic times would be bad for us all.
Out of all the royal brides, I liked Princess Anne's curtsy the most. I didn't see much of Diana's. Same with Camilla. Sarah, Margaret and Kate didn't bow their heads. Margaret and Kate also didn't go deep enough. But Princess Anne went way down with her head bowed, and took her time with it.
The British really know how to do it! If you ever have the good fortune to visit Great Britain you will perhaps surprised to find the deep affection for the Queen and Royal Family. And that's because they work hard.

When oh when is the World going to STOP calling Queen Elizabeth II the Queen of ENGLAND !!!! She is the Queen of the UNITED KINGDOM (the name kinda gives it away). Just so we know..the UK is made up of FIRSTLY : Scotland, then England, Northern Ireland and Wales.
@paulinesmith44 To be precise, Queen of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the UK doesn't actually appear in her official title. As far as protocol and precedent is concerned, the order of the constituent countries is: England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Wales doesn't get a mention as it's a Principality, not a Kingdom (Northern Irleand or Ulster is a Province of the former Kingdom of Ireland).
@ds1868 oh for goodness sake it still doesn't make her the Queen of England. what is the word "united" if it does not unite the kingdom referred to. Scotland brought both Kingdom's together when Our Scottish King became your English King, therefore Scotland takes precedence over England. I really don't care how it's written. Wales is as much part of the Kingdom as N.I. and the rest.
@paulinesmith44 Scotland does not take precedence over England. In any case, the Stuart dynasty was finally removed in 1714, the English having to invite the Elector of Hanover to become KIng in preference to the exiled James II and VII. In terms of British constitutional history, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. I suggest you start reading authoritative sources on the topic, rather than displaying your ignorance on here.
@ds1868 Typical response from someone who's so far up their own ass....displays of ignorance. I see a 'comment ' box. This tells me that I can comment no matter what MY opinion is....Scotland takes precedence over England OK...that's MY COMMENT. Get over it...instead of making yourself look like an ignorant idiot who just wants to show off their knowledge that no one else really cares about.
@grooverheliboy ..That's the problem. You WON'T GIVE us back our independence. It's the UK Govn. who DON'T WANT Scotland to leave the Union. The sooner we gain independence the sooner we can KEEP OUR HARD EARNED SUBSIDIES stolen by a govn. that has ALWAYS been an English establishment and NOT one. They know how much England has to lose from Scottish independence,so much so that they want to hijack a referendum knowing they will get a NO vote !!!
@paulinesmith44 England would gladl;y give you back your idependence WHY is that gob shite Alex Samond not prepared to give you the vote on Independence because he knows that the people do not want it.It will cost you far too much money as you will not be subsidised by England.I suggest that you Google Enlands subsidies to scotland as educate yourself on just how many millions of £££'s England gives to you people each year.
@grooverheliboy England would gladly give us our independence ??well lets leave Salmond out of it and ask Cameron and his cronies to give us the vote...maybe they WILL give us the vote because they know there are many , certainly not all, who don't want independence...At least we are agreed that yes it does have to stop NOW !!!
@paulinesmith44 If you check you will find that it is your leader that is stalling with the vote He has said that he (slamond wants to wait another 2 years before giving the people of Scotland the vote so it is NOT Englands cronies as you call them that are stalling but your leader.
I agree with you on the cronies bit as far as I am concerned I wouldn't piss on any of them if they were on fire .
germans in charge of england telling english people "you will never be one of us"....how very british...now wave your flags you fuckin idiots...hhahaha
all these foolish republicans don't realise how boring britain would be without the monarchy. and we'll end up with gordon brown as president? who wants that?
To all those who say 'get rid of royalty, think about it. Do you have any idea how much money they bring into the UK? Unbelievable amounts. They bring in more money than they spend. Each year millions of tourists flock to London, why? Well it's not to visit the HQ of the British Republican movement, put it that way!
Well you know, buckingham palace as a museum would still bring in tourists, just as the Tower does, even though there are no prisoners. You go for the history, since the large majority of tourists dont get to talk to and vist the Royal Family anyway. They wont miss out on much.
@minecraftloverftw Buckingham palace is a museum, a museum to royalty, except like most other royal museums around the world, this one has royalty living in it. Tourists love that. Just ask them.
@jazzdrum100 I'm awfully sorry, but I cannot agree with your mode of thought! Royalty costs money! That's true! So would a president! Certainly he/she would not cost less money! But I can't see the compellent argument! Most of the royal properties were alienated to the state! That's why they get money! But first of all, the Queen represents AND IS the ancestral nation! They're not elected careerists! They are - just like we all are - FROM THE NATION! Money talk is simply abject and miserable!
@jazzdrum100 I find it funny people still use that pathetic excuse. I'm sure most disabled people would rather have their benetifs back and people don't want to be on the streets or pay more VAT, than think it's worth paying the royals to live in luxury. there would still be tourism, as people would see even more of the royal jewels and palaces because the royals and their servants wouldn't be living in them.
@SuzLa1 You have that spot on! People like myself (just visited England earlier this year) came for the history, not for your present monarchy. I find the present monarchy ie., Charles & Camilla especially to be a huge turn off and disgust me to no end. I have friends who live in England and they would also rather see their tax money going elsewhere, not to the RF who live a life of unimaginable luxury, looking down on the average citizen. To me, that's not majestic, it's disgraceful!
@jazzdrum100 People come to England/GB for the History! Not the current monarchy which aside from Princes William and Harry are nothing but an embarrassment and not at all what drives people of other countries to come to England. I can say this first hand. The moment Charles was allowed to marry his whore is the moment the world lost admiration for the British Royal Family. We DON'T come to see them! It's the castles, crown jewels, etc., who gives a damn about the RF??
@cmariej1 And where does the history come from? Who built the castles? Who wore the crown jewels? If you want to see just that then go the France. But, oh no, you come over here. Listen to yourself and how ridiculously flawed your insignificant uneducated argument is.
@jazzdrum100 It was NOT the royals of today who built the castles and who attained the crown jewels. You really are a deluded clown aren't you? You really believe what you're saying don't you? You are significantly flawed and truly believe that no one but you are correct. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the monarchy sucks ass! The world HATES Charles and Camilla, they are the boil on the ass of the monarchy!
@jazzdrum100 I'd like you to take your argument to students who cannot afford University, or the disabled or the elderly, the people having to work til age 70 to be able to collect on their pensions that won't exist by then. You're a proper thick idiot. The royalty live over the top, posh, luxurious lives that they don't deserve. THIS PART HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TOURISM. Can you comprehend this? or are you too ignorant?
@jazzdrum100 Looks like you're a man in denial. I'm proud of our heritage, but it's true about our monarchy taking the piss. If only we were granted a bit of what they have. It's true, if it was all taken away from them for a month, then returned... they would certainly have a far better appreciation for what they have and more importantly, appreciated for the people. I for one am sick of being looked down on, but they are more than happy to take my money. Can you explain that?
@ApricotsMariska The moanarchy ahs all their wealth taken away and then a small amount is returned for Royal duties. The Royal palaces which were actually bought by the Royal family and not the state are her property but due to an agreement is now held by the Govt in return for a wage. Should teh Monarchy be abolished the property would actually be the Queens and no longer would we get an income from them.
@jdi0093113 You are way off! You obviously do not realize how much of OUR money is being siphoned into the royal coffers do you?? Raymill (Camilla's PRIVATE home) is costing us £2,000,000 PER ANNUM!! Explain that one eh? She's not even a royal, but by marriage alone. You are so disillusioned that it's pathetic! Let me guess... you're an American right? Ignorant!
@cmariej1 you are the ignorant person who doesnt understand basic economics and how much worse off we would be with a president who would make us less money and cost just as much if not more and just do the same job.The Queen also is able to help diplomacy unlike a president. This is coming from a student that is facing the cuts and uni fees. Go and educate yourself about the monarchy instaed of looking at tabloid news.
@jdi0093113 Perhaps it is YOU who needs to get "educated" as you are so deluded, giving false information and calling others names. It is indeed you whom is ignorant and you need to wake the hell up. Our Royal Family is NOT helping anyone, but making cuts for the disabled, college tuition etc., all whilst they live an undeserved luxurious life that not even you could dream of. Go back to your pot-noodles and enjoy, whilst they kick back in one of their MANY HOMES & PALACES.
@ApricotsMariska The royal family cut nothing they control nothing Parliament does Parliament pay the Queen 40 million a year they control the Queens lands that bring in 160million a year that go to the country thats before u count one tourist who come to see her. but with the Queen it's not about money its what she stands for unity of the country culture Heritage i would never want to live in a republic they have no charm.
@SILVERCLOUD141 HA! As if she makes herself available to the "tourists". You're off your nut completely. So what's your take on the whore Camilla's £2,000,000 Raymill THAT THE QUEEN NOR CHARLES NOR CAMILLA WHORE IS PAYING FOR EH? WE PAY FOR THAT BULLSHIT, WHAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND???
@ApricotsMariska Of course she don't make her self available to the tourists why would she. She is the Queen they come from america and around the world to see everything she is about people love it its special we have the most famous and prestigious royals in the world. If the Queen takes after her mother she could well out live charles once kate has a child that will ensure the royals for many years to come we will NEVER be a republic they are one of the last things that is great about us.
@SILVERCLOUD141 Tourists come for the HISTORY - NOT the current royals. Princess Diana was the crowning jewel, she still brings tourists to this day, nearly 15 yrs after her death, but of course the RF didn't see that potential. Modern royal family isn't what people come to see. They come for the crown jewels, castles, palaces that were here WAY before any of these sponges were even born! Even without a RF, the history & royal treasures will still draw millions in. Comprehend??
@ApricotsMariska Is there any need for you to talk to me like a idiot. i disagree that they would still come like they do buckingham palace would just be a museum i would hate that now it's a working palace say the Queen costs 65p a year do you really miss that money? honest what gets me is all these refugees come here but still u seem to rather moan at keeping a peace of our national identity other countrys would love us to get rid cause they are green with envy of what we have
@SILVERCLOUD141 The fact of the matter is the true cost of the royal family is hidden from the public. That bothers me a great deal. I find it very difficult to give my support to a family firm that is not open and honest about the tax payer money they use. Go to the british tourism board website and look for your self has much tourism the royal palaces in. It's just over 1%.
@SILVERCLOUD141 67p per year quote does not include the cost of security/travel which is where the real cost of the monarchy is. As for tourism, Winsor Castle is the only royal palace to make it into the top 20 of best UK attractions and even then it’s only at number 17. Facts hurt don't they....
YOU CAN'T ARGUE WITH COLD HARD LEGITIMATE FACTS THAT ARE AVAILABLE FOR ALL TO SEE. You obviously do NOT have any real knowledge of where our money is going, or HOW MUCH of it is going where!
@ApricotsMariska No other country comes close to what we have you should be proud wait till her jubilee in june you will see how many people come from all over the country and world to see her....As the saying goes; "A President represents their voters, but a Monarch represents their people, regardless of political opinion."
@SILVERCLOUD141 Oh, and by the way... The CURRENT royal family (except QE II) hold absolutely NO charm, only SHAME and EMBARRASSMENT!! Perhaps Prince William can't bring it back around, though I strongly doubt it as he's been 'coached' by daddy for too many years. It's hopeless, once Charles sits on the throne, we can kiss the monarchy goodbye FOREVER! Republic is coming whether you want it or not.
William did ask HM for permission to marry Kate, even though she is only his grandmother & not a parent. The Queen still rules over her family, grandchildren included!
Well,I can quite catch you. What do you mean?I haven't seen Princess Diana's bow,but even if it was on the opposite side,so what? And if you just wanted to share with us your encyclopedic knowledge, what is "hmmm" supposed to mean in your comment?
In essence yes. Also because Catherine is being welcomed into the RF. But from the looks of it HM is not happy about it as she turns up her nose and looks away. But what do you expect when Kate has attacked the RF on numerous occasions and William only told HM about the proposal 2hrs before when he is supposed to wait until the Queen has approved the proposal at the Grand Council before the announcement. Meaning William snubbed the Queen and 1,000 years of history.
@mousiekins860 The Queen seems absolutely happy and delighted with her grandson's choice. She moved her head while smiling, took a look at Kate's dress and then look again back to them.I don't care William didn't aske her approval, none does.William is 29,28 at the time of the engagent. He's grown up,he makes his own choices and I like the fact that he cares for his relationship with Kate more than what the Queen and the people say, think and do.He is in love,so he proposed to the woman he loves.
@1302Viv why should I be proud that he is breaking protocol and disrespecting the Queen and the 80+ years worth of work she has dedicated her life to? William is blatantly disrespecting a 1,000 year old monarchy by rebelling for all the wrong reasons and if he is not careful will destroy the Monarchy.
Right, mate you DO realize that if he was disrespecting the "Monarchy" Which actually no longer exists due to the fact that our Queen does not make the rules anymore, The royal family would have made Prince William denounce his title?
Not only they everyone bows to the Queen when she is present, bcos apart from being Head of State, she is the Supreme Head of Church of England, means she is the highest religious figure present there, next only to God..
Really? Wow, I didn't know that. So, what if Prince Harry got married? Would he have to do the same thing Prince Willian and Princess Catherine did???
Ya.. Everyone does that..you see all the old wedding videos, right from Princess, Margaret, Princess Alexandra, and of course the Queen's old children.. It is a custom to bow n curtsy the Queen if she is present at the wedding...
@coolview66 That's true, but when I compared Kate's curtsey to those in other royal weddings, it seems that Kate didn't curtsey deeply enough. She didn't go down far enough, and she didn't bow her head either. Maybe this is a sign of changing protocol within the royal family?
Well,I liked her bow more than Sarah's and Sophie's,I wasn't able to see well Diana's bow.I loved the fact that she smiled. And I liked that the Queen moved her head like saying to them "I totally approve,go on".And if she didn't bow her head as a sign of changing protocol, then this is a perfect future Queen.
@TheVasilisas Yes they all would do it because she is Head of State and our Queen. There is no higher than the Queen, only God. Diana, Fergie, Sophie all did it etc. Zara would have done it also. If you heard the National Anthem on the wedding you would notice its grand intro etc - thats cause the Monarch is present. In normal circumstances it wouldn't have that intro and would just go straight into it...
Oh Prince William that lucky guy!

paulinesmith44 3 months ago
@paulinesmith44 If you check you will find that it is your leader that is stalling with the vote He has said that he (slamond wants to wait another 2 years before giving the people of Scotland the vote so it is NOT Englands cronies as you call them that are stalling but your leader.
I agree with you on the cronies bit as far as I am concerned I wouldn't piss on any of them if they were on fire .

To all those who say 'get rid of royalty, think about it. Do you have any idea how much money they bring into the UK? Unbelievable amounts. They bring in more money than they spend. Each year millions of tourists flock to London, why? Well it's not to visit the HQ of the British Republican movement, put it that way!
jazzdrum100 5 months ago 43
@jazzdrum100 Nice to see that you recognise that the only good thing about the monarchy is tourism... nothing else at all !
glasgow1234 5 months ago
@jazzdrum100 \
Well you know, buckingham palace as a museum would still bring in tourists, just as the Tower does, even though there are no prisoners. You go for the history, since the large majority of tourists dont get to talk to and vist the Royal Family anyway. They wont miss out on much.
minecraftloverftw 4 months ago

Rotebuehl1 3 months ago
@jazzdrum100 I find it funny people still use that pathetic excuse. I'm sure most disabled people would rather have their benetifs back and people don't want to be on the streets or pay more VAT, than think it's worth paying the royals to live in luxury. there would still be tourism, as people would see even more of the royal jewels and palaces because the royals and their servants wouldn't be living in them.
SuzLa1 2 months ago
@SuzLa1 You have that spot on! People like myself (just visited England earlier this year) came for the history, not for your present monarchy. I find the present monarchy ie., Charles & Camilla especially to be a huge turn off and disgust me to no end. I have friends who live in England and they would also rather see their tax money going elsewhere, not to the RF who live a life of unimaginable luxury, looking down on the average citizen. To me, that's not majestic, it's disgraceful!
cmariej1 2 months ago
@jazzdrum100 People come to England/GB for the History! Not the current monarchy which aside from Princes William and Harry are nothing but an embarrassment and not at all what drives people of other countries to come to England. I can say this first hand. The moment Charles was allowed to marry his whore is the moment the world lost admiration for the British Royal Family. We DON'T come to see them! It's the castles, crown jewels, etc., who gives a damn about the RF??
cmariej1 2 months ago
@cmariej1 And where does the history come from? Who built the castles? Who wore the crown jewels? If you want to see just that then go the France. But, oh no, you come over here. Listen to yourself and how ridiculously flawed your insignificant uneducated argument is.
jazzdrum100 2 months ago
@jazzdrum100 It was NOT the royals of today who built the castles and who attained the crown jewels. You really are a deluded clown aren't you? You really believe what you're saying don't you? You are significantly flawed and truly believe that no one but you are correct. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the monarchy sucks ass! The world HATES Charles and Camilla, they are the boil on the ass of the monarchy!
cmariej1 2 months ago
@jazzdrum100 I'd like you to take your argument to students who cannot afford University, or the disabled or the elderly, the people having to work til age 70 to be able to collect on their pensions that won't exist by then. You're a proper thick idiot. The royalty live over the top, posh, luxurious lives that they don't deserve. THIS PART HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TOURISM. Can you comprehend this? or are you too ignorant?
cmariej1 2 months ago
@cmariej1 Blah, blah, whatever. Anything else you have to say is just white noise, so don't bother.
jazzdrum100 2 months ago
@jazzdrum100 Looks like you're a man in denial. I'm proud of our heritage, but it's true about our monarchy taking the piss. If only we were granted a bit of what they have. It's true, if it was all taken away from them for a month, then returned... they would certainly have a far better appreciation for what they have and more importantly, appreciated for the people. I for one am sick of being looked down on, but they are more than happy to take my money. Can you explain that?
ApricotsMariska 2 months ago
@ApricotsMariska The moanarchy ahs all their wealth taken away and then a small amount is returned for Royal duties. The Royal palaces which were actually bought by the Royal family and not the state are her property but due to an agreement is now held by the Govt in return for a wage. Should teh Monarchy be abolished the property would actually be the Queens and no longer would we get an income from them.
jdi0093113 1 month ago
@jdi0093113 You are way off! You obviously do not realize how much of OUR money is being siphoned into the royal coffers do you?? Raymill (Camilla's PRIVATE home) is costing us £2,000,000 PER ANNUM!! Explain that one eh? She's not even a royal, but by marriage alone. You are so disillusioned that it's pathetic! Let me guess... you're an American right? Ignorant!
ApricotsMariska 1 month ago
@cmariej1 you are the ignorant person who doesnt understand basic economics and how much worse off we would be with a president who would make us less money and cost just as much if not more and just do the same job.The Queen also is able to help diplomacy unlike a president. This is coming from a student that is facing the cuts and uni fees. Go and educate yourself about the monarchy instaed of looking at tabloid news.
GOD SAVE THE QUEEN
jdi0093113 1 month ago
@jdi0093113 Perhaps it is YOU who needs to get "educated" as you are so deluded, giving false information and calling others names. It is indeed you whom is ignorant and you need to wake the hell up. Our Royal Family is NOT helping anyone, but making cuts for the disabled, college tuition etc., all whilst they live an undeserved luxurious life that not even you could dream of. Go back to your pot-noodles and enjoy, whilst they kick back in one of their MANY HOMES & PALACES.
ApricotsMariska 1 month ago
@ApricotsMariska The royal family cut nothing they control nothing Parliament does Parliament pay the Queen 40 million a year they control the Queens lands that bring in 160million a year that go to the country thats before u count one tourist who come to see her. but with the Queen it's not about money its what she stands for unity of the country culture Heritage i would never want to live in a republic they have no charm.
SILVERCLOUD141 1 month ago
@SILVERCLOUD141 HA! As if she makes herself available to the "tourists". You're off your nut completely. So what's your take on the whore Camilla's £2,000,000 Raymill THAT THE QUEEN NOR CHARLES NOR CAMILLA WHORE IS PAYING FOR EH? WE PAY FOR THAT BULLSHIT, WHAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND???
ApricotsMariska 1 month ago
@ApricotsMariska Of course she don't make her self available to the tourists why would she. She is the Queen they come from america and around the world to see everything she is about people love it its special we have the most famous and prestigious royals in the world. If the Queen takes after her mother she could well out live charles once kate has a child that will ensure the royals for many years to come we will NEVER be a republic they are one of the last things that is great about us.
SILVERCLOUD141 1 month ago
@SILVERCLOUD141 Tourists come for the HISTORY - NOT the current royals. Princess Diana was the crowning jewel, she still brings tourists to this day, nearly 15 yrs after her death, but of course the RF didn't see that potential. Modern royal family isn't what people come to see. They come for the crown jewels, castles, palaces that were here WAY before any of these sponges were even born! Even without a RF, the history & royal treasures will still draw millions in. Comprehend??
ApricotsMariska 1 month ago

ApricotsMariska 1 month ago

@ApricotsMariska No other country comes close to what we have you should be proud wait till her jubilee in june you will see how many people come from all over the country and world to see her....As the saying goes; "A President represents their voters, but a Monarch represents their people, regardless of political opinion."
SILVERCLOUD141 1 month ago
@SILVERCLOUD141 Oh, and by the way... The CURRENT royal family (except QE II) hold absolutely NO charm, only SHAME and EMBARRASSMENT!! Perhaps Prince William can't bring it back around, though I strongly doubt it as he's been 'coached' by daddy for too many years. It's hopeless, once Charles sits on the throne, we can kiss the monarchy goodbye FOREVER! Republic is coming whether you want it or not.

Well,I can quite catch you. What do you mean?I haven't seen Princess Diana's bow,but even if it was on the opposite side,so what? And if you just wanted to share with us your encyclopedic knowledge, what is "hmmm" supposed to mean in your comment?
1302Viv 6 months ago
In essence yes. Also because Catherine is being welcomed into the RF. But from the looks of it HM is not happy about it as she turns up her nose and looks away. But what do you expect when Kate has attacked the RF on numerous occasions and William only told HM about the proposal 2hrs before when he is supposed to wait until the Queen has approved the proposal at the Grand Council before the announcement. Meaning William snubbed the Queen and 1,000 years of history.
mousiekins860 9 months ago
@mousiekins860 The Queen seems absolutely happy and delighted with her grandson's choice. She moved her head while smiling, took a look at Kate's dress and then look again back to them.I don't care William didn't aske her approval, none does.William is 29,28 at the time of the engagent. He's grown up,he makes his own choices and I like the fact that he cares for his relationship with Kate more than what the Queen and the people say, think and do.He is in love,so he proposed to the woman he loves.
1302Viv 6 months ago
@mousiekins860
And the fact that William seems to change protocol and monarchy already,I mean even before crowned King, should make you proud of him.
1302Viv 6 months ago
@1302Viv why should I be proud that he is breaking protocol and disrespecting the Queen and the 80+ years worth of work she has dedicated her life to? William is blatantly disrespecting a 1,000 year old monarchy by rebelling for all the wrong reasons and if he is not careful will destroy the Monarchy.
mousiekins860 6 months ago

How old are you?Every young person I know loves William and Kate, and the way modernizes the Monarchy!

Right, mate you DO realize that if he was disrespecting the "Monarchy" Which actually no longer exists due to the fact that our Queen does not make the rules anymore, The royal family would have made Prince William denounce his title?

I don't get it....why do they have to bow to The Queen? It's thier wedding! Is it becasue The Queen let them get marrried???
TheVasilisas 9 months ago
Not only they everyone bows to the Queen when she is present, bcos apart from being Head of State, she is the Supreme Head of Church of England, means she is the highest religious figure present there, next only to God..
coolview66 8 months ago
@coolview66
Really? Wow, I didn't know that. So, what if Prince Harry got married? Would he have to do the same thing Prince Willian and Princess Catherine did???
TheVasilisas 8 months ago
Ya.. Everyone does that..you see all the old wedding videos, right from Princess, Margaret, Princess Alexandra, and of course the Queen's old children.. It is a custom to bow n curtsy the Queen if she is present at the wedding...
coolview66 8 months ago
@coolview66 That's true, but when I compared Kate's curtsey to those in other royal weddings, it seems that Kate didn't curtsey deeply enough. She didn't go down far enough, and she didn't bow her head either. Maybe this is a sign of changing protocol within the royal family?
393edge 6 months ago
@393edge
1302Viv 6 months ago
@393edge I doubt its anything significant. Princess Margarets curtsey was similar to Kates
MrJNO123 5 months ago
@393edge
did not matter, how deep the curtsied. Granma Lilibeth was happy, everything was fine. ;)
rivenoak 5 months ago
@TheVasilisas Yes they all would do it because she is Head of State and our Queen. There is no higher than the Queen, only God. Diana, Fergie, Sophie all did it etc. Zara would have done it also. If you heard the National Anthem on the wedding you would notice its grand intro etc - thats cause the Monarch is present. In normal circumstances it wouldn't have that intro and would just go straight into it...
