I was so upset when I saw this coz I loved Paddy.

How could they do CPR? The scenes were edited together too quickly and the sets obviously sat next to each other. I would saythe impression was to make the viewers believe Paddy had been immersed long enough for her lungs to burst.Grim thought i know. Director's fault for bad timing. Val looked like she hurt her foot kicking out and catching the wall divide instead of Nola. Still Bea got the baboon arsed bitch in the end.

Capital punishment was abolished in the mid 1980s in WA but not before this program was on. However the last person executed in WA was in 1964 and the last woman executed in WA was in 1908 so it's highly unlikely Nola would've copped it in real life

And how could Nola have chosen Paddy? As Paddy said, Nola had no idea she was going to go to the shower block. Unless Nola is psychic ;-)

I thought Bea said in earlier episodes with Nola that killing a police officer was still a capitol offence, just like treason in this country was punishable by death up until about 30yrs ago I think - summit like that anyway lol, Nola must have been a special case

Nola was due to be shipped back to Western Australia, where she killed a police officer which was a capitol offence and she would have been hanged, however, because she escaped from Western Australia, and ended up in Wentworth, she could not be killed in that state, so, to stop herself being sent back to Western Australia, she needed to commit a crime in Wentworth, hence why she killed Paddy Lawson

That's one of the reasons why, in some twisted respects, I abhor Erica more than Nola. Nola is undoubtedly as Erica claims cold-blooded but pious condemnation from Erica is hardly an effective restraint. Why doesn't Erica realise she is blatantly unable to handle such hard cases as Nola and is at least partly responsible for Paddy's murder?
