The Bible doesn't command us to kill people for today, like this is not a universal command. The Bible also says in Proverbs "If your enemy is hungry, feed him, if he is thirsty, give him something to drink, in doing this you will put heaping coals on his head and the Lord will reward you." Jesus is perfect theology, he is the perfect embodiment and representation of God's perfect character, that is why Jesus says "Anyone who sees me has seen the Father" (John).

I think it comes down to a different understanding of God's Word. There is a dangerous assumption made that the Bible only applies to people for the day it was written in and that the Quran is sent for mankind. But the Bible is so much more, it applies to our lives today. The Bible is like a manual that has God's will and plan for humanity since the beginning of time, and that plan has never changed.
