I always thought this ending sucked. In enemy unknown(ufo defence) you get a nice bit of text explaining why the aliens want to harvest you and such. This game was much harder thus deserves a better ending.

I just finished TFTD (after putting it off for 15 years or so, doh) and it didn't show the ending...so had to look it up. Thanks for posting. It is a setup for the very soul-less and awkward Apocalypse.
