  • My limit was 2.80/4.0

    After breaking the limit with patrick, it is now 3.36/4 and still growing LIKE A BOSS P;

    IT student,,,

  • Thank you. Today in my class i was dumbfounded. Couldn't understand my teacher. Thanks

  • I LOVE YOU! XOXO!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH, THIS IS SO HELPFUL :')

  • @ShadowDog415 glad you like it all! some of the videos are missing from the playlists, so you may do an individual search on specific topics, if you need it. good luck on the test!!

  • Wow. Thank you again, patrickJMT!

  • This video was a lifesaver! I can do my homework now, thanks so much!

  • This is great! Thanks so much!

  • @UpBeatNerve2 you are very welcome!

  • Thank you for uploading these solutions, I was pretty certain this was how limits functioned but watching your video cleared up any misunderstandings I had.

  • @Bullfrog1983 happy i could help, come back any time!

  • I can't tell you how much you helped me with my Calculus homework!!! Thanks so much :) If you're not a professional teacher...you should be!!

  • Thank you so much. I thought I was doomed!

  • @MercendarPVP come back any time ;)

  • i fucking love you!!!!

  • I wasn't 100% sure how to read limits on graphs, but you cleared that up for me. Thanks!

  • @himpllx you are welcome :) come back for tons of calculus videos here

  • you will never know how thankful i am to you!

  • Dude! You are a life saver! I wish you were my professor! Great Tutorials!

  • I GET IT!!!! OK, patrickJMT, you just became my hero. IB Math seems like nothing now! I am ready for this test!

  • hello sir.. it was great to learn from your videos. i am a student from a university taking basic calculus !

  • master!

  • Thank you so much, this was very helpful to me! your the man!

  • May I ask you something? at 5:51 you say that the Limits of f(x) is ∞ right? Well, if I say that the Limit is +∞ am I wrong? My teacher told me at school that you can put just ∞ (without + or -) if the Limit goes to +∞ and -∞ at the same time. Thanks a lot for the videos, will absolutely use them for my tests!!

  • I FRICKEN LOVE YOU

  • you're the boss!

  • Thank you so much for this video!!! This makes so much sense now (I've been trying to get this concept for 2 weeks.) Your 9-minute video replaced my teacher that tried to teach me this for two weeks :) and I'm definitely using your videos as study guides!

  • thanks! I think that I'll be able to pass my exams tom. :P

  • i love everything about your videos!! they're so helpful and you're seriously helping me pass calculus in college!! geez why can't all professors be like you!!!

  • i love you.

  • Hi, I have a little question related to limits in statistics. How do we find lower and upper limits of the data? Because I realised there isn't a formula to find them. :( and I'm having my exams two days later. Please help meeeeeee :(

  • Thank you SOOOO much. This is very helpful and you went at the perfect pace and explained everything perfectly!

  • I could kiss you man, thank you sharing. I'm finally getting the book questions right.

  • Hey I've got a question..what do u mean when we say Limit doesn't exist a point??

  • i just want to show my gratitude toward you mr. patrickjmt. i am junior in high school and taking calc. i hadnt done a single homework but got b on it because of your wonderful videoes!! :) Thanks a ton

  • @oldskolrap do your homework!! : )

  • I am the 40,000 viewers, and I am learning limits heck yeah!

    I feel so special xD

  • @EngineHead4 if you are the 50,000th viewer, balloons fall from your ceiling

  • Lefty....nice :]

Thank you SOOOO much! This lesson did not make any sense when my teavher taught it but it all clicked when you explained it :]

  • very helpful!

  • wow the book made it seem so challenging, this video makes it cake. 2 hours of studying a math book is the equivalent to a 10 minute youtube video

  • So if there is a positive or negative sign next to the number like in g) and h), you only need to find the limit of one side?

Thank you so much for this, by the way. You teach math a lot better than my Stanford-originated Calculus teacher.

  • did studying in the library today saw your videos and i can say for sure im ready for the exam tomorrow!

  • Gosh your my hero :) I Have my Ap Calc test tomorrow morning and that just saved me from failure! I really appreciate it!

  • @MyDexter001 i can nudge someone in the right direction at least : )

  • thank you thank you thank you! You saved me for my calc test! :)

  • Hey man GREAT VIDEOS!!! Your saving me!!! I'm and engineering major who got screwed on math in high school and I had to work my way up the math staircase, and I took Engineering 101 which covered derivatives, integrals, differential equations, BUT these little details ( and limits ) were not, and I'm in calc I currently, and the prof. sucks. SO your my go to guy, you explain well!! Ive watched probably five of your vids so far, and was excited when I searched Limits and Graphs and urs popped up!

  • thank you so much!! i'm new to calculus and the limits is my first calculus lesson in my class :)

  • Great video

just a question you didnt go over: when your finding f(-2) why is it 5 and not -1? Im assuming its bc of the filled circle? Same thing for f(4)

  • Thank you so much!! You are awesome!!

  • thanks help me out alot your video

  • left hander XD

  • Way better than my calc 1 teacher said it

  • Thank you! You're amazing! A very helpful and clear explanation:)

  • THANKS!!! You are the best math teacher!

  • this was brilliant! thanks

  • This is the fantastic Video!!!!!! Good job.

  • greatly appreciated

  • understanding limits ftw.

  • THANKS SO MUCH!!! this definitely "set the lightbulb off" in my head

  • gr8

  • Wow, no dislike!

  • Limit with a hole, is the height of that hole!

  • Can you explain what is the difference between the closed and the open circle on the graph?

  • @sasukeuchiha436 The open circle means that the function is undefined at that point, i.e., there is no value at that particular point on the curve. The filled in circle means that there is a single value at that specific point. So when X hits the exact value of -2, f(x) jumps up to equal 5.

  • Thanks bro

  • Watched the other videos, they couldn't explain it as well. After watching your video I feel quite foolish because I didn't get it before (because you made it so easy). Thank you!

  • Thank you so much for your video!! It helps sooo much more than anything else! :)

  • Thank you very much, you were really easy to follow and helpful!

  • thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu:)

  • You're a really good teacher! You make math more understandable & your videos are extremely helpful!

  • You make me like math again. Thank you so much! :)

  • you're the reason I'm not failing precalc right now!

  • So awesome!

  • Question: I tried it myself first, and I mistakenly used the distance formula, got the derivative and got 2 for X, and 4 for Y. What information about the graph did I find? Or is it just erroneous.

  • omg thank q so much <3

  • I need a new word to express how awesome you are.

  • Thanks for the vid man!

  • Thank you so much! Way better than my teacher!!

    take care man..

  • OMG THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! I was stress when I left class today. Understand it =D

  • Thou art a god

  • Dude, you are seriously saving my ass right now. I jumped from Intermediate Algebra to Business Calculus because of a math placement exam that I got lucky on.

You are much better than my Calc teacher in many ways. Keep putting these videos out, you're helping many.

  • thanx man, this really helped

  • JUST WANNA SAY THANK U SIR =")

UR VIDEOS HELPED ME A LOT IN CALCULUS .

    REGARDS

    MAX

  • I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but your videos are great and EXTREMELY helpful. You've made me like math...something I thought was impossible. Thank you so much for your videos, it's a tremendous help to many of us.

  • @Corrosion27 many people are very nice about the videos, it is the main reason i keep making them

  • @patrickJMT Question C) is very confusing to me. I have been told multiple definitions of what the open and closed circles mean. It seams that in situations like c (not approaching a number), the open circle is basically the input of the functions leading to the closed circle = output = the correct y value? If not, please explain the open and closed circles please.

  • This helped me A LOT Thankyou very very much!!!^^^!!!!

  • I love you.

  • I never did calculus and that made sense to me. If all my teachers were like you when I was in school. I would have been a straight A student. Your explanation is so clear and easy to understand.

  • You Are Amazing! Your Better Than My Calculus Teacher(:

  • Beautiful explanation

  • Your videos are great, thank you so much for making these!

They're always so easy to understand!!! :D

  • @SpotlessWhite glad u like them!

  • YOU ARE A GREATTTT explainer of Calculus, this is something that I have struggled with in Calc, and you explained this easily!

  • I really wish you were my math teacher. What you just explained in 10 minutes, my AP Calc teacher took 2 freaking days to explain it.....

  • Dam man thank you very much, these vids like saved my life.

  • Thanks, I'm currently learning this in my class but not really familiar with the subject. This really helped me out.

  • a lot more helpful than my prof lol

  • this was sooooooo helpful thank you so much!!!!! you have such a way with words youre the bestestestest explainer evereverever

  • Educational genius. No question about it. When you have an enthusiasm for something, you're the best in the field. I've never seen anybody lecture this well, excepting Kahn Academy. Truly a great talent that is rare today. I've never seen any book explicate this clearly.

  • yea i have to agree with the masses, you make it easy to learn from. so simple, when teachers teach in a laymen way they are the best ones.

  • Life saver.

  • haha, i just had to laugh og the graph:-P what is that 9 deg?

  • great job. math teachers should learn from you

  • just in time this is my math class for tomorrow, I'm gonna be more than ready thx to you !!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • Patrick you are just great, please keep on making more & more of your videos, please don't ever think of quitting what you do, you don't know how helpful your work is.

  • @Thrax005 i will keep making them!

  • patrick = world helper

  • Your awesome man! thanks so much!

  • I wish you won that Google award too Patrick!

  • @baburo101 ha yes, well one day maybe my math videos will catch on : )

  • hi...i was wondering can u make a video on properties like distributive and stuff like that...i really need help with that thnx

  • i like your videos even though i don't learn as much from them as other people because my teachers actually does a good job but it's always nice to see one of your videos to make sure im doing the problems right.

  • Man, I am in Elementary Algebra, so in 3 years this will help. I sort of understand, but I'm learning basic graphing! When I get up to Calculus, I will be so happy! Math is difficult after being away from numbers for 3 years!

  • Nothing against my teachers - I'm sure they're wonderful mathematicians. But an awkwardly tense, decidedly somniferous school classroom is possibly the least conducive environment when it comes to learning things.

Which is why I love your videos :D

  • thanx man

  • Patrick, you made my life 100x easier. You're just wonderful.

  • @toushihiro that is a lot easier! glad i have that ability

  • thx for the videos

  • Oh dear PatrickJMT, is there anything you can't do?

    P.S I love you.

  • @pabloMTv * HUGS * pablo

  • Excellent, I'm just learning this so this helps.

  • @XenomorphLV426 ok, i hope it makes sense! i always feel like every video i make is totally terrible : )

  • @patrickJMT I appreciate everything you do for the youtube community; you've certainly helped me in get a better grade in countless math exams and homework.
