I have a Calc Test in 3 days, I'm watching all your vids from the first semester playlist, its great, I've told my friends about your channel too, you make it so easy to understand, thanks PatrickJMT
@ShadowDog415 glad you like it all! some of the videos are missing from the playlists, so you may do an individual search on specific topics, if you need it. good luck on the test!!
Thank you for uploading these solutions, I was pretty certain this was how limits functioned but watching your video cleared up any misunderstandings I had.
May I ask you something? at 5:51 you say that the Limits of f(x) is ∞ right? Well, if I say that the Limit is +∞ am I wrong? My teacher told me at school that you can put just ∞ (without + or -) if the Limit goes to +∞ and -∞ at the same time. Thanks a lot for the videos, will absolutely use them for my tests!!
Thank you so much for this video!!! This makes so much sense now (I've been trying to get this concept for 2 weeks.) Your 9-minute video replaced my teacher that tried to teach me this for two weeks :) and I'm definitely using your videos as study guides!
i love everything about your videos!! they're so helpful and you're seriously helping me pass calculus in college!! geez why can't all professors be like you!!!
Hi, I have a little question related to limits in statistics. How do we find lower and upper limits of the data? Because I realised there isn't a formula to find them. :( and I'm having my exams two days later. Please help meeeeeee :(
i just want to show my gratitude toward you mr. patrickjmt. i am junior in high school and taking calc. i hadnt done a single homework but got b on it because of your wonderful videoes!! :) Thanks a ton
I'm a junior in college, I haven't taken calc since senior year of high school and my teacher now is just confusing. You made it so simple and easy to understand/remember! Thanks so much, I have my first midterm today haha
Hey man GREAT VIDEOS!!! Your saving me!!! I'm and engineering major who got screwed on math in high school and I had to work my way up the math staircase, and I took Engineering 101 which covered derivatives, integrals, differential equations, BUT these little details ( and limits ) were not, and I'm in calc I currently, and the prof. sucks. SO your my go to guy, you explain well!! Ive watched probably five of your vids so far, and was excited when I searched Limits and Graphs and urs popped up!

This seriously helped me out so much.. I actually understand it. yet it was simple to begin with my professor runs circles around what he actually means so its really hard to rasp what he wants. thank you very much
i know my college instructor has been doing calculus for years and us as new students dont know this stuff as well as he does and so he teaches so fast im thankful for your vids man great in explaining every detail its helping each week with my class keep it up man your a major help to a lot of people your mom should be proud :)
Patrick u Saved my LIFE! I have a quiz on limits and thought i was forsure going to fail it. You have changed the course of history for my Math grade, I, and my parents THANK U!
@sasukeuchiha436 The open circle means that the function is undefined at that point, i.e., there is no value at that particular point on the curve. The filled in circle means that there is a single value at that specific point. So when X hits the exact value of -2, f(x) jumps up to equal 5.
Watched the other videos, they couldn't explain it as well. After watching your video I feel quite foolish because I didn't get it before (because you made it so easy). Thank you!
Question: I tried it myself first, and I mistakenly used the distance formula, got the derivative and got 2 for X, and 4 for Y. What information about the graph did I find? Or is it just erroneous.
Wow after learning how to find limits today in my calc class i was soooo lost. After watching this video, i fully understand them now! thank you so much!
Dude, you are seriously saving my ass right now. I jumped from Intermediate Algebra to Business Calculus because of a math placement exam that I got lucky on.
You are much better than my Calc teacher in many ways. Keep putting these videos out, you're helping many.
I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but your videos are great and EXTREMELY helpful. You've made me like math...something I thought was impossible. Thank you so much for your videos, it's a tremendous help to many of us.
@patrickJMT Question C) is very confusing to me. I have been told multiple definitions of what the open and closed circles mean. It seams that in situations like c (not approaching a number), the open circle is basically the input of the functions leading to the closed circle = output = the correct y value? If not, please explain the open and closed circles please.
I never did calculus and that made sense to me. If all my teachers were like you when I was in school. I would have been a straight A student. Your explanation is so clear and easy to understand.
Educational genius. No question about it. When you have an enthusiasm for something, you're the best in the field. I've never seen anybody lecture this well, excepting Kahn Academy. Truly a great talent that is rare today. I've never seen any book explicate this clearly.
Patrick you are just great, please keep on making more & more of your videos, please don't ever think of quitting what you do, you don't know how helpful your work is.

Thank you so much for this, by the way. You teach math a lot better than my Stanford-originated Calculus teacher.
