I'm glad SEGA America changed up Sonic. Why? Because Sonic Team brought those abandoned concepts back and resulted in Sonic '06 and the Werehog. Were they overall, well received. Nope. Because SEGA knew it wouldn't work back then and we know it didn't work now.

In the Brawl series, I think Nintendo and Sega had a lot of fun creating the games because of the amount of fighting between the two "so called rivals." In a sense though, I hope Sega has gotten permission from Nintendo to do Mario & Sonic at the Summer Olympic Games. On Wikipedia, it says that Naka and Oshima left the company. I don't know why.

I kinda like Madonna's design and the character itself, but the concept "hedgehog having human girlfriend" is just sick and undesirable idea. And I think she would not have been in big role at first game.
While it's said that Mario influenced a lot of video games, there is no doubt that without Mario, our little hedgehog friend we know and love wouldn't exist. Sonic's existance and creation is almost entirely centered around the existance of Mario. Some franchises are born out of business, or to simply introduce a new thing to the market.
Sonic was created for the purpose to be the mascot to stand up to Mario back in the day, and of course be Sega's mascot. The former is one of the MAIN reasons.

Sega's problem is that they've forgotten what made the original Sonic games good. They advertised the speed back then, sure, but keeping momentum and plaforming is what was so good about the games, not going as fast as you can.
I'm not one of those people who says "Oh, he's skinny, therefore the game sucks." I've played the new games, and most of them are absolutely horrid . Sega is only alive because it feeds of the current youth's ignorance and their parents' money.

Mario was not meant to "compete" with Pac-Man the way Sonic was meant to compete with Mario. Sega even went out of it's way to use Mario in comparison to Sonic in their commercials. This "old line" of mine happens to be the truth, and I don't know what you're trying to prove. Were you even thinking before you wrote that...?

@Valientlink Thats what Nintendo was tying to do in 1981 they wanted to compete with Namco's mascot, Pac-Man. Thats why they made Donkey Kong to be a Pac-man beater. Sega's problem is that they've forgotten what made the original Sonic games good. They advertised the speed back then, sure, but keeping momentum and plaforming is what was so good about the games, not going as fast as you can.
I'm not one of those people who says "Oh, he's skinny, therefore the game sucks." I've played the new games, and most of them are absolutely horrid . Sega is only alive because it feeds of the current youth's ignorance and their parents' money.

the only reason mario is still so good is because nintendo concentrates more on gameplay rather than storyline which is sega's biggest mistake because now sonic has WAAAAYYYYY to much storyline compared to the first few games! all you had to do back then was free some animals from robotnik!
