he is more graceful, technical and expressive than many female dancers. he dances with soul and fliar! i think hes brave a talented and whoever thinks that because hes a man he should dance on pointe, they can try and do what he does and they'll know just how much skill it takes to become as good as he is :) good on you x
@0Angelfromheaven0 the reason most of the men have a 'roughness' to their dancing is because they start pointe work much later than women. I would say typically in their late teens and early twenties while women start at 11 - 13 so the grace is instilled into them. Also, before pointe work remember that men danced in a very 'strong' way for the male roles until they wanted to pointe. My brother started pointe work at 11 and he dances with more grace than most women - he dances female roles.
@TwiggViolencexx: this guy (Leo - LEV RADCHENKO) started his Pointe work @ 25 y.o.!!! After dancing all major Male repertoire & partnering real (female) ballerinas!!!
That's the whole point of this video: Lev Radchenko is a MALE dancer who happened to dance some Pointe/female roles in his various & extensive career (he was w/Kirov-Mariinsky, Cirque du Soleil, etc.)!!!
U can find on YouTube his other, strictly Male Dancer videos (just type: LEV RADCHENKO) ... :)))
WOW!!!...this is what I least expected..dang men can do freaking everything...I'm shocked...my ignorance made me think that only woman were the only ones capable of doing pointe......and so......this video clearly proves me wrong I guess..the only thing I personally don't like are the men wearing tutus though
In some points(:P very funny haha) I think he he did a even better job than most female ballet danceron pointe, but still there is a reason why women are in pointe shoes and tutus. Male dancer have this 'roughness' I dont know how to explain it.. but females are more delicate and look like so light like a feather. With males you really see a heaviness something that really distracts.... I don't know how to explain it... But yeah good job :)
Wow, that was something quite different. I think its good t see a guy en pointe, its completely turned the classical female ballerina on her head. I wanna see more of this. I used to do ballet until I was 16 and let me tell you as a woman its hard enough, men weigh more typically so there must be so much training that goes into this. For those wondering, pointe is not easy by any means. It can be painful and disfugure your toes.
@rlion2005 yes, i do live in a small town. and being a dancer on pointe myself i know it takes A LOT more work then putting on the tutu. and having males in our productions for my studio i have nothing at all against this guy. i just found it out of the ordinary to see a guy on pointe with a tutu and tights on. i also know that it is extremely hard work to do what this guy does and as i said before his dancing is phenomenal and his technique was amazing.

Quest'uomo è un grande,è la dimostrazione che anche gli uomini possono ballare sulle punte come le donne indossando body collant e tutù senza essere etichettati.
1:23-1:34 was so pretty, What is that twirl called, the one where he spins on both of his feet like that? It's my favorite move because it look so pretty!
I appreciate the talent and ability that this requires, especially for such a tall person, however, it doesn't quite sit right with me. I suppose I'm just used to the softer lines of a female ballerina. Apologies if you're offended. He's amazing at what he does, though!
U should show to these girls (who think that POINTE are for women/ballerinas only) NOT this video only! Show them that this "ballerina" is actually a real MAN by showing them his other NO-pointe videos/as a MALE dancer (search him as "Lev Radchenko" on YouTube to see his other 2 videos: one from the studio talking, warming up & dancing; and the 2nd one - his Nutcracker Pas de Deux as a Prince/ Cavalier/ male partner)
i love ballet its the best and dancing men on piont shows is something new to be because i am like a girl never seen men be on point shows but now that i did i found out the girls arent the only one that can be on points shows but men can and when i sow this video at frist i thought it was a women but the at that moment i look closer and i sow a men and thats how i realized that women arent the only people that can do points and now i am going to show this video to every girl that thinks that
Aunque sea comedia...... no hay nada mejor que ver a una MUJER BAILAR BALLet... los hombres que se dediquen a su papel.. las mujeres son mas artisticas, mas expresivas
Simply phenomenal. The technique is awesome and makes this great art eternal. That's what a true artist is all about; lending his'her body to perform diferent characters. Ballet is one of the finest arts. Congratuations!!!!
It's for people who know BALLET, Pointe work & familiar with All-Male Ballet companies such as Les Ballets TROCKADERO de Monte Carlo, St.Petersburg Male Ballet (Russia), Grand Diva , etc.
For most 'dudes' it could be weird ...
But hopefully people realize & understand how much of HARD WORKS & YEARS OF TRAININGS are done before these MEN put tutus/point shoes on and perform on PROFESSIONAL stage!

@TwiggViolencexx actually, men don't typically do any pointe training unless necessary for a role.

This video is NOT for everybody!
And it's NOT a drag show either!
Please be kind, people! :-)
