  • yeah cool, 17 years old and enlisted in the Marine Corps. with high hopes of being an 0317 and these kids have a better chance than me haha, suburbs aren't as much fun as back woods

  • @antihwman Best of luck to you. Be positive, believe in yourself and don't loose your sense of humor. And above all stay safe.

  • You'd be suprised how easily this comes to kids these days. They've grown up in a computerized world, so running the Nightforce software and turning a few clicks on a scope is well.........childs play. Doping the wind will always be the real test for long range shooting. The rest is simple physics.

  • The question I have is that do they just shoot after you adjust the scope or do they know the how to use a long range weapon system.i just feel like its a hollow victory.

  • I would like to know what scope was being used. thanks

  • @MrChindow Bushnell Elite 5-15 tactical. Inexpensive scope you can pick up for around $350.

  • Great shooting and teaching!

    God Bless the USA!

  • Glad to hear you're involving your daughters in the fun! No reason they shouldn't be out there showing the boys how to do it. We're just a bit southwest of Wyo in Utah. Keep it up with your girls, that's awesome!

  • Nice job shooting at the range wow Im impressed !!!! I take my two daughters at shooting range and they love it too.!! And looks like Wyoming to me but not sure!!!

  • I knew it!!!! Im showing this to that prick at the local gun store who tried to skin me for a 1300 dollar leupold. Why buy a ferrari when a camaro will get you to the end of the track just as quick.

Way to go Dad!!! Keep it up.

  • @wist0301 Don't be too hard on the guy at the gun store. While you can certainly shoot long distance with a low priced scope it is alot harder. The cheaper scopes seem to need to "settle in" before you can make consistant hits. Wiith my Nightforce I have complete confidence in the first shot and know that if I don't make a good hit it's my fault. You definately get what you pay for. Best of luck..

  • do yall load your own ammo? If so what are you using to get good accuracy out to this distance, if not what factory ammo are you using ? Also have you checked out teludyne and their straight jacket barrel system? you could put twenty rounds on the plate as fast as you can aim and pull the trigger, no barrel harmonics, no barrel heat.

  • @chrsbrrss Yes we only handload. At the time we just used Winchester brass, CCI primers, RL22 powder and Nosler ballistic tips. We now shoot a 300 Ultra mag and use Nosler custom brass, CCI primers, H1000 powder (very temp. stable) and Berger VLD and A-max bullets. I load in L.E. Wilson dies with an arbor press. Bullet runout is almost always less than .02 Flashholes are deburred, primer pockets uniformed and after the first firing we only neck size.

  • @chrsbrrss I've read up on the straight jacket barrel system and checked out one rifle that had the system on it. I'm a bit of a skeptic, and am slow to jump on the latest craze until it's been around long enough to prove itself. I'll wait and see, and if it proves itself in competition I'll try it in the future.

  • @twotwentyswift Well i have the straight jacket on my 308 and my dad has it on his Rem 700 .300 WM and we have had them for almost a year now, and they have performed outstandingly. I can shoot thirty or more rounds without getting different results than the very first shot, and the muzzle break on it saves your shoulder and gives you threads for a suppressor or other accessory.

  • do yall load your own ammo? If so what are you using to get good accuracy out to this distance, if not what factory ammo are you using ?

  • I'm 20 and I have never went out farther then 600 yards...... I feel sad now....

  • I think this is great. I am a very bit a newbie and gotta say I am impressed by these kids. I just a bought a .308 with a scope today. I plan to shoot off a few rounds at our long range shooting range just a few miles from my home. I can't wait.

Just a note here, I used to do this with my dad when I was a kid. I was a very great marksman at 11. I hit a white tail deer at almost 780 yards with a 6.55 x 55 Mouser that my dad had fitted with a Leopold. 10 Pointer anyone? LOL.. can't wait.

  • @phuukuuu Have a blast man. Don't know if you're a handloader or not but I love the Sierra 155 grain Palma in my .308 for long range. That 6.5 x 55 if a great round and under appreciated. I also love the 6.5 x 284. Happy shooting.

  • @phuukuuu holy shit at 11 yrs old you hit a deer at almost 800 yards

  • I don't have access anywhere locally to shoot xtreme range anymore 308 as located in east in built up area no ranges but i do shoot 22 LR at a 330 yard "gong" target which is a harrow disc and makes incred. ring when hit. I think this is almost the max range for calm day with this tiny "pill" but i have hit from 400 yards. I have marlin 925 with 7x scope and on good day i can ring 7 of 10 off hand.

  • @blastforyou That's some great off hand shooting! We do alot of .22 these days for practice as well. The scope used on the rifle in the video now sits atop my heavy barreled 10/22. We have used alot of Federal and American Eagle bulk packs but my curiosity got the better of me and I picked up a few boxes of CCI Velocitor's and Stinger's. We're really lucky with places to shoot. We go to an open high mountain valley where we can now shoot in excess of 2000 yards. Shots take over 3 sec. to impact.

  • Wow. Way cool. Nice to see a dad teaching his boys to shoot and shoot safely!

  • Nice to watch

  • some pro snipers cant even hit a human sized target at 1000 yards

  • "You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass." Yamamoto.. good shooting kids..

  • Those are some smart kids.......... liberals would not understand

  • Great job dad! You set a very good example for us safe shooter as well with the glasses and ear protection. The wonderful thing about children is there just having fun and don't quite understand yet what an amazing and difficult shot that is :)

  • @1angrywhiteman1 You're so right. Although the first thing KC wanted to do was call his mom and let her know what he'd done. I couldn't get the best part....he was jumping up and down while I fumbled with the camera trying to get it focused for up close. Prior to this they'd both shot a few shots at the gong from 500 to 750 yards with only an ocassional miss (usually due to dad misdoping the wind) :)

  • Great shooting and great parenting! Don't listen to morons who can't think their way

beyond what some politician tells them.

  • this is cool :)

  • personally i like to use a revolver firing from the hip at this range ;)

  • @biggamerboy1 lol :) made my day!

  • How do you like that Bushnell 3200?

  • @SlaughterOtter I won't go as far as to say it tracks perfectly, but it is a solid scope and a great deal when you consider they sell for around $350.

  • about 50 percent of the time I can make a shot liek that.

  • its ridicouly

  • you should get them to join some competitions

  • PRETTY COOL.

  • good jobs guys my dad took me shooting as soon as i was able to hold a rifle. i learned what a gun can do to something and since have always respected them. teach your kids early!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Im gonna be shooting that tomorrow.

  • well done boys! good job getting it on tape dad. i took a video of my boy walking through the woods, why my M&P15-22 and while talking to him, i distracted him, he then trips over a branch, and uses the gun to break his fall! ..wtf. well, im glad i gave him a empty rifle, and i felt bad... for laughing, cuz it was some funny shit!

  • Good shooting!

  • Future Marine sniper!

  • great shooting !!!!! amazing place in the midle of the wood.

congratulations for you and your sons.

    A.f. from Argentina

  • @elsuperflaco221 Thank you my friend. Great to hear from Argentina!

  • @twotwentyswift what kind of gun are you shooting?

  • @MrBobsrevenge It's a Savage 112 BVSS in 300 Win Mag.

  • nice shooting! wonderful job teaching these kids proper marksmanship! i applaud you. keep up the tradition! and i agree with griffgruff78

  • Phew! Bet you cant wait to take them hunting,Nice work!!!!!!

  • Phew! Bet you cant wait to take them huting,Nice work!!!!!!

  • @jonahmoffatt Yeah, if kids shoot with their dad and learn responsibility and dicipline they're going to grow up to be mass murderers right? Drop the crack pipe clown.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheCertifiedAsian Thanks for telling me how my kids will grow up. And here I thought my parenting might have more to do with how they turned out. Right now they are very respectful and responsible young men. When exactly does this horrible change come over them " oh mighty reader of the crystal ball.

  • @twotwentyswift If I may weigh in please. I am 21 years old. I have been shooting since age 4. As of now I have a 4.0 in college where I will be graduating in a year with 2 degrees. Afterward I will be attending Emory medical school; which is in the top 20 for the entire world. Clearly teaching your children to shoot does not make them criminals. It gave me alot of respect for human life. You are teaching your boys lessons that will positively influence their future. Good job pal.

  • @azreal289 Thanks, and congradulations to you and those who have raised you to be the intelligent and rational man you obviously are. I have to chuckle at those who project their lack of control on others, somehow reasoning that since they cannot control their thoughts and actions that all other people must be like them, harboring the illogical and irrational thought that a firearm somehow has a mind of it's own and can cause good people to become evil. Keeps the shrinks employed though.. ;)

  • @TheCertifiedAsian Congradulations to you for realizing what an absurd comment you made, and then removing it.

  • @twotwentyswift Dont listen to those guys! You are doing a good thing by teaching your kids that. You must be very responsible to handle a gun and you are teaching them that. Good job!

  • @jonahmoffatt What kind of garbage is that? I would much prefer to have my kids outside learning how to safely handle and operate a rifle than cooped up in front of a TV playing a hyperstimulating video game like, I dunno, F1 2010 while listening to some trashy thrash metal like, I dunno, Slayer. Parents who insulate their children from any conceiveable danger will raise ignoramuses without practical skill.

  • @jonahmoffatt You couldn't be more wrong. Kids that hunt and shoot with their parents are respectful kids. Kids that are molested, verbally abused, and told they are a piece of garbage their whole lives are who turn into murders. Is it a coincidence that the UK has a tremendous rate of knife crime since outlawing guns? Guns are a tool. Misuse of the tool is not the tool's fault. If a man kills another with a hammer, should we then outlaw hammers? Keep being the sheep that you are.

  • @therealbeaker Guns haven't been 'outlawed' in the UK. Plenty of Section1 FAC holders who shoot, even children who are registered gun owners.

  • Nice shooting, looks like Wyoming. :)

  • Great shooting...Im amazed at some of the comments about teaching kids to shoot. My dad taught me to shoot at the age of 5.For those that made negative comments about teaching these young men to shoot, should not allow they're kids to learn to drive..

  • @b2flyer1 Actually with over 40,000 viewers we've only had one idiot weigh in. And that was darrylhaynes. I'd say that's pretty good odds. He obviously was never taught by his father and has a fear of what he dosen't understand. Fearful and naive is a rather sad way to go through life isn't it. He will never understand the fun of shooting and the enjoyment it brings to the millions in this country. Happy shooting my friend!

  • @darrylhaynes You are entertaining if not sane. Good luck with the paranoia and the grammer.

  • @DIMItheRUSSIAN I wish you the best my friend. We've all witnessed the loss of god given rights in Australia and couldn't believe it actually happened. Only a strong political campaign by energized freedom lovers can get that right back for the good people there.

  • @darrylhaynes Must be a strange feeling knowing your beliefs mirror those of Adolph Hitler and Mao Se Tung. But heck, the world is filled with all kinds isn't it. Can't imagine what it's like to be so intolerant. Sad for you.

  • i feel sorry 4 your kids

  • @darrylhaynes When I told my kids you were afraid of them they thought it was pretty funny. As for feeling sorry for them, they are happy, healthy and unlike you, well adjusted. Their future is quite bright as they are both on track for both shooting and academic scholarships. Save the pity party for the jackwagon in the mirror.

  • @darrylhaynes really? why would you not teach your kids to shoot. Or are you saying its better to not teach them how to be skillful and responsible? Or perhaps you're making some larger comment about guns and how evil they are. Cars kill people, and especially in irresponsible hands; they cause more deaths and injury in one year than all gun accidents in all of history. Just another tool. So don't teach your kids how to use a hammer. They may kill someone with it.

  • i feel so sorry 4 u..

  • @darrylhaynes Oh no just what we need! Another liberal hippy that has lost his way out of his padded safe playpen.

  • @darrylhaynes you’re just another ignorant hippy. People like you try to disarm good Americans, and all that does is open the door for the criminals. And sheltering a kid from guns just makes it a really dangerous and sometimes tragic situation, eventually they will see a gun, they will hold a gun, and that’s when you wish you had taught them to respect guns before they accidentally shoot their best friend OR THEMSELVES! Great job @twotwentyswift, wish there was more parents like you in America

  • 3 preist are scared of this video

  • what magnification was the scope

  • @sweetswantonbombs At the time it had a Bushnell Elite Tactical in 5-15. Needless to say it was on 15x. No mirage to deal with in the high cool country.

  • Sorry to hear you haven't seen your dad in so long. It makes your life alot harder. But before you set your heart on becoming a sniper, tallk to somebody who's been one. It's not the glamour job hollywood makes it out to be. It's a boring brutal job for the most part, where guys spend days in one spot day and night enduring cold at night and the heat in the day, eating cold MRE's and more often then not, they don't ever take a shot. I know you'll enjoy long range shooting as a sport though.

  • great shot your kids are lucky too have a father like that to teach my dream is to be a sniper but right now i havent seen my dad in more than 2 years so im reading the book and doing the math and science to try to figure out how to shoot like that your kids have a good shot

  • assuming its not iron sights....

  • @bajesus666 Actually if you had a really, really, really, long bloop tube just maybe....;)

  • @twotwentyswift

ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME! parents need to let their children shoot more! Maybe this kid wont grow up to be a liberal wimp like the rest of these youtubers.

  • Thats awesome! You must be a proud papa! :D

  • Haha so odd. I never come by many people with my name!

  • That is awesome! No kidding the voice of a proud father. Great shooting.

  • Comment removed

  • @blueghost510 Thanks for the kind words. They make me proud everyday. Straight A students and great shots too. They've continued to impress me this year. I took them out to shoot clay pigeons and they grabbed my full size 11-87 Remington 12 gauge and made that look easy too. Both shot several clays before missing. At his point nothing they do could suprise me! Never underestimate your kids.

  • @twotwentyswift get them flying!

  • wow go hunting sometime!!!

the kids will be bringing home 2 elk's a night

  • @piklweezl Actually they're my uncles cabins, and as a courtesy to them we only shoot when they're away. They are cool though, ;)

    twotwentyswift 1 week ago

  • this is what turns on the typical american dad

  • It's a Savage 112 BVSS. Unfortunately they no longer make this model. They did however just come out with a "long range hunter" model that looks awesome and the price should be very reasonable. Gotta love Ron Coburn and what he's done with that company.

  • nice . g8 soot kido.

  • damn a rifle for 650dollars thats cheap wich model is it?

  • @bomanio1 Its and old Savage they are no longer in production tho i payed 700 for my 30-06 and about 400 for my scope and can make this same shot, at 600 yards with no more then three shots i can take the top off of a 2 liter pop bottle and if your gunna try distance shooting with a 30-06 use 150 grain ammo

  • damn a rifle for 650dollars wich model is it?

  • God Bless America.

    Semper Fi

  • What Brand and model?? I have a 700 BDL w/ a 3-9 Redfield.

  • @Nedhead100 Savage 112BVBSS. Unfortunately no longer made by Savage. All the specifics are listed at the end of the vid. Bullet, scope, bipod etc. Recently upgraded to my dream scope, a Nightforce 5-22x56. Awesome scope. Wanted one for as long as I can remember and celebrated paying off the house by getting one. Have fun with your 700. Great action and trigger on those. Own 2 Sendero 700's and love 'em. Happy shooting!

  • this kid is the man!!!!!!

  • fantastic shooting

  • Nice shooting young man!! Dang, there's plenty of adults who couldn't do that :)

  • im thinking of gettin a howa 1500 300 win mag .. should i get a muzzel break ??.

  • @snowflakebmx I would recommend a muzzle brake for this type of long range shooting where you have time to set up and put on ear protection. For situations where you are busting brush and taking quick shots definately not. I don't have my muzzle brake locked on, so I can screw it off and on as needed.

  • @snowflakebmx i have a remington M24 in 300mag and i would recomend that to anybody, but remember you will be spending as much or more on the optic. if you dont, dont bother buying the gun, and a muzzle break is a nice thing but you will ruin ur hearing quick without muffs or plugs

  • @snowflakebmx the 300 definitely has some recoil, especially for target shooting. it depends on whether you are using it for target only shooting or target and hunting. for only target shooting i would say yes. but if you plan to use it for hunting i would say get a removable brake or none at all. you wont feel the recoil while hunting anyway.

  • great shooting, and to the father great teaching

  • Great shooting Boys.

  • Nice shootin kid.

  • If I did this when I was 9/12 years old I would of missed, had a broken collar bone and a large cut above my right eye from my stupid short eye relief on my scope lol.

    Very good shooting boys.

  • thats very impressive shooting. i would also like add that shooting that far is a challenge for alot of people. these kids have some serious potential...

  • tell them good job for me!

  • future snipers expect good things from these kids in the future carry on

  • ill see u to in sniper school when im 20 or so i hope

  • Great video! Beautiful piece of land

  • That's a fare amount of recoil for the young ones. When I was young like them ,and was bruised from shooting hard kicking rounds. To me it was great like a badge of honor. It's a shame so many young bucks haven't had the same chance to go shoot a target. Best, to you all, yl

  • @ylism The rifle has a Kirby Allen "painkiller" muzzle brake on it and recoils about like a .243. I have really avoided letting them shoot hard kickers. Nothing like a flinch to mess up your shooting. I have friends who've developed flinches and have never managed to get rid of them. Stay safe yl.

  • @twotwentyswift That M-brake sounds like it works great. I wish they had those when I was a boy.lol Your right about people shooting a gun of some sort that really kicks. It can mess them up for long time, I've seen it first hand. My children will shoot just about anything. My son is a real good shot. He can out shoot me with a pistol these days. Keep the videos coming. Take care my friend, yl

  • Thats what happens when kids play too much Call of Duty

  • @veselin40t0 I really hope you were being sarcastic.

  • @richiestang78 I am

  • wow... nice

  • great shooting:)

  • Most impressive!

  • @Sixguns4fighting I must say that shooters sure are some of the most gracious and kind people on earth. I joked with my boys about putting them on Youtube and they were so excited by the idea I didn't want to disappoint them. Seeing all the profanity, putdowns etc. on most Youtube vids I really didn't want to expose them to that. My hats off to the classy shooters that have made comments here. You are truely the best society has to offer!

  • Awesome job with those boys sir

  • excellent! hats off to you and your son.

  • I see a future sniper......Good shooting.....I wish i could hit something 1 at 100 yards :\

open sights but still i cant hit shit!

Know any places that can help me improve my marksmanship skills?

  • @warriorofsteel01 Try Defensive Edge in Idaho or Gunsite in Arizona. Both are top notch schools. Obviously if you're flinching or not shooting with your dominant eye it will be impossible to shoot well. Good luck!

  • Great job and great video! Congratulations to your sons! I've been teaching my 3 year old grandson how to shoot with a Marlin 22 mag...one day I'll graduate him to centerfire and we'll work our way out to 1000.

  • This was my son's first attempt at 1000+ and a day we'll always remember. I thought it was just going to be a waste of ammo, but boy did they surprise me! You'll undoubtedly have a memorable day too. Have your camera rolling like I did. You never know what might happen. There must be something to all these video games kids play. The hand/eye coordination is astounding sometimes. Keep making memories with that grandson of yours. Those will be great memories that last forever!

  • man i wish i had the range to do that were i hunt at lol i hunt over here in the florida everglades so its all swamp and palms

  • Great shots by both boys! All dads should

teach their children how to handle a weapon properly. Maybe, we wouldn't

have children killing each other with an

"unloaded" gun. All kids should be so

lucky to have such a dad.

  • I really appreciate your kind comments. From the time my boys were 5 years old and received their first BB gun, I've drilled in the firearms safety rules. ALL guns are ALWAYS loaded, NEVER put your finger on the trigger until you're ready to shoot, Never point the gun at anything you don't intend to destroy, be Sure of your target and what's behind it, NEVER walk past the firing line unless your action is open, etc. Shooting with my boys is a god given right that has kept us close.

  • Nice shooting guys!

  • Elk beware!

  • great job kids!!

  • it's good to see dad's teaching their sons the way my dad taught me. keep it up boys

  • you forgot to say they take after their dad ha. what state is that...colorado?

  • I think they passed up the old man and his old eyes! We're in Utah, or "Colorado West". ;)

  • hahaha. thats beautiful country out there. i've lived in alabama my whole life and i'd kill to live somewhere with hills and mountains like yall have there. i'm surrounded by cotton fields here ha. one of these days i hope to move out that way

  • im stuck in michigan with falt land and a ton of trees, too many to shoot that far

  • Give him a big hug for me! Good job KC.

  • Great job Brach and KC...

  • that looks fun :D

  • thats a reall nice vid. good lookin kids

  • Was that the back of your house you were shooting off? I would KILL to b able to hang out my house and have a 1000 yard target.

Congrats to the accurate kids :) Alot of people never get to attempt 1000 yards and you succeeded, well done.

  • Thanks for the kind words. This is our summer cabin. It's at 9850 so needless to say it's snowed in a good portion of the year. My uncles cabins are on each side. As a courtesy to them we wait till they're gone before uncorking the 300. The muzzle break makes it VERY loud, but it's well worth it to see my kids shoot it.

  • what gun you guys using?

  • It's a Savage 112 BVSS.

  • @twotwentyswift wow. i wish i was that good of a marksman. i've never been able to find somewhere with that far of a range, know of anywhere in the Idaho panhandle with a range/ field more than 300 yards? Thanks!

  • @NObama28 You have a wonderful resourse not that far away in Rathdrum. Shawn Carlock runs a long range shooting school there and does some pretty amazing gunsmithing as well. He kind of parented the ".338 Edge" cartridge and builds some great shooting rifles. Check it out!

  • what elevation were you guys? looks high

  • You have a good eye. We were at 9850.

  • Damn. Tell your kid he is a beast.
