  • "Zuuuul, motherfucker!"

  • Looking over these old Siskel and Ebert clips, I can only repeat the words of that hair-band: "you don't know what you got until it's gone"

  • Psychotropic

    Harassment

    never looked so good.

  • Show more of the movie!

  • One my favourite bits in the movie is when slimer pops out of the hot dog cart with a bunch in his mouth1 This movie rocks!

  • I remember watching the fridge scene at my house ... now remember, I was 10 ... as soon as Zuul popped out, the fan in my room simultaneously broke a blade and threw it against the wall . . . not kidding, I was outside my house and halfway down the street before I came to my senses!

  • Ever since I started watching the Nostalgia Critic, every time I watch Ghostbusters I keep saying Zuul, motherfucker! Zuul!

  • What an underwhelming review, Ghostbusters is one of the best movies ever made, and all they can say is "yeah, it was funny, 2 thumbs up", id have been raving about it

  • Ahhh, Roger, you forgot that Harold Ramis co-starred - with Bill Murray - in "Stripes" a couple of years earlier. And you could have mentioned that Rams directed "Caddyshack" the year before that.

  • @MegaObserver1 at the time ebert made the comment, he was right. harold ramis wasn't well known and caddyshack was not yet a cult classic. easy for you to say 30 years after the fact.

  • "This bitch is TOAST!"

  • 1 person generally sees that type of behavior in a major appliance.

  • Zuul, motherfucker!

  • (DEMONIC VOICE)

"There is no Dana. Only Zuul."

"What a lovely singing voice you have!"

  • Ahhh, those were the days

  • 3:53 - :58 is 'perfect.'

  • like viewing the full version with the following video at a v atz.net remove spaces

  • No matter how long I live, this movie will always live long in my heart as #1!

  • @Cml725

What if you live to be like 400 years old?

  • @hossrex Probably would still love this movie.

  • They don't even acknowledge Ernie Hudson, like there were only 3 Ghostbusters

  • @christslapper . well for most alot of the movie there were just the original 3, all scientists. winston comes in late as a hired gun, and doesn't have the longtime friendship and banter of the main 3.

  • @christslapper He only came in afterwards wasn't a main one in the start.

  • zool motherfucker zool

  • "Nobody steps on a church in my town!"

  • i must have seen this movie 50 times as a kid but only now do i really get bill murray's

    dry humor in this movie.

  • @lucaschallenger Exactly!

Watching this not that long ago as an adult made my spleen hurt.

  • Hows this for critism, you stink. How do you like that? You know what's funny to me??? that diploma on the wall. That is my ideaaa of COM E DYYYY...

  • @PaulMichaelScreamer

Good comment, but I think 10 thumbs up is enough for you so I'm not going to vote it up. Im going to try voting it down just to see if I can take you DOWN! soo yeah

  • Don't you love that hokey opening music? XD

  • see this ghostbusters is funny unlike part II

  • Siskel and Ebert were obviously amused, that is one of the funniest and coolest movies ever made.

  • Bill Murray owns this movie.

  • @Quadzilla99 NOOOOO.

    Sony and paermownt scooby dooo.

  • It's funny to see how long this clip is--would never happen now on a show like this.

  • @FloraWest Yeah I just watched their review of The Goonies, it also had very long clips and I thought the same thing. It would never happen now.

  • Ahhh the memories!... the 80's were great!

  • Summer of 1984! Ghostbusters is released & Siskel & Ebert are on PBS! What a year!

  • Bill Murray at his absolute best. VERY talented actor.

  • Mother of God Sigourney is fucking hott!

  • yo if i saw a girls cuchi that nasty, i would probly run 2 da ghostbusters 2 lmao !!!

its hidious....it said zule !!....it had crabs...lol

  • I always like how Siskel emphasizes the "Chicago" of the "Chicago Sun-Times."

  • Wat

  • yeah, i have to say i liked ghostbusters 2 more than the ninja turtles sequals by far. i've always thought of them as kinda close. but i think the main problem with ghostbusters 2 was that nobody cared about that baby and having a painting as a villain was a bad move. but at least it had all the original actors which most sequals dont have

  • I'm probably biased by virtue of having seen the sequel before the original. But I like both equally as well.

  • it was good but didnt have the awesomeness of the original

  • BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They revealed too much of the film.

  • Heh, not even the critics mention Ernie Hudson or Winston.

  • he wasnt well know back then

  • WHOA! I'm surprized they actual loved this movie? these guys who give thumbs down on all my favorite flims of the 80's? LOL Awesome 5 stars!

  • Yeah but still. :)

I mean, Ramis wasn't that well known either.

  • yea but he did stripes with bill a couple years earlyer so most people then would of known him from that plus he was mainly just writing back then so people also know him as a writer of movies

  • he wasnt even mentioned in some of the early video game slol

  • I love Ghostbusters and I love the classic Ebert and Siskel reviews. I definately feel the new at the movie critics do not amount to the gregarious insight the original pair had.

  • The new critics are a joke.

  • That's because there are so many critics

  • I don't know what you're getting at.

  • I'm glad that AO Scott and Michael Philips are doing it now. They are no Siskel and Ebert, but light years better than the two clowns that got fired for their dreadful displays last season.

  • The only problem I have with the show is the "See It" and "Skip It" format. I miss the old thumb routine. Roger Ebert didn't want a part of that show anymore for some reason.

  • the see it ok but I don't like the rent it. renting it is the same as seeing it and ebert even said that. When someone tells you to rent a movie, its just another word of saying seeing it.

  • Ebert lost his jaw to do thyroid cancer and is unable to speak now. Also I miss the thumb routine as well.

  • He can't talk anymore, he's a cancer survivor that lost his voice box.

  • That wasn't Roger Ebert's decision, that was Disney's. Roger always wanted the thumbs to stay in the show, but Disney wouldn't allow it.

  • @murdock283

Yeah, I just looked that up on Wikipedia

"Upon being informed in mid-2009 of the most recent change in co-hosts to Scott and Phillips, Ebert indicated to Phillips that he would be prepared to return his endorsement and the "Thumbs" system to the series. However, Disney turned down the offer, saying that the show had "moved on"

The problem with this argument is that the show's useless without it.

  • True that. But now that there are actual FILM CRITICS on the show, and not entertainment reporters, the reviews are much more substantive. In fact, when I watched the first show with Michael and Tony, I got emotional, lawl, cause they had SO much personality and intelligence. :)

  • @murdock283

Well as of now, I lost respect for A.O. Scott for his review on Princess and the Frog.

  • @GoldenFox17

Aw. It's just his opinion. ^_^

  • @BrotherSport311 I agree with you. I always liked Michael Phillips when he was a guest on the show. Although he just gave New moon a good review. Oh well, he's fun to listen to but you're right, Siskel and Ebert are just so great. I've gone back and watched so many of thier reviews. Insightful, bright, funny and thoughtful people.

  • @BrotherSport311 Too bad AO Scott and Michael Philips are fired now, too. The silver lining is that Roger and his wife are prepping a brand new version of the show... and the "thumbs" are coming back.

  • @BrotherSport311 Unfortunately they won't be doing it for long - the show ends this August. And this time - for real.

  • Dana: "There is no Dana, only Zool"

Veikman: "What a lovely singing voice you have there" LOL

  • Ebert makes a good point when he says they are all like college roommates all in on the same joke.

  • If there's something strange in your neighborhood, who ya gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS!!!!

  • He-Man? Shit, that was GHOSTBUSTERS II. LOL!!

  • The hallway scene makes me laugh every time.

  • I was just watching Ghostbusters. Thanks for uploading!

  • awesome!! Thanks for posting!!
