  • I wish some people would learn who sang the song, and the title, they are posting here.

  • ABBA has never covered this, in any language. I am sure it would have been listed somewhere if a group this big had done so. This is Chrissy Hynde singing.

  • closest to Merrilee .. great job.

  • @jimmykjazz

Oh yeah, you are obviously a "real" Seattlite! Merrillee is somehow a cousin of my half-sister (just don't EVER call her a half...I went off on my daughter when she said "half")

Coolest deal with Merrillee was one noght up at Skagit Speedway in Mount Vernon, WA when she sang the National Anthem. Wish more of them could sing it like her, and with the same respect! I was totally taken aback by what a nice, nice woman she is.

  • just call angel of the morning

  • PREIOSA CANCION PARA TI TELY TE RECUERDO Y EXTRAÑO

  • Abba did not do cover versions

  • Abba did not do cover versions

  • Well any deaf can hear that this is NOT (A)nni-Frid; (B)jørn; (B)enny; (A)gentha song!!!!

    ed

    w w w eddy nu

  • for sure this is not the real voice of annie frid lyngstad and agnetha faltskog of abba..I've heard almost all abba songs but I don't think they have a version for angel of the morning..

  • not an abba

  • SO NOT Abba! This is The Pretenders. Great version......why fuck people over? Really?

  • Comment removed

  • Why try to fool everybody ?

  • THis is NOT ABBA...It might that national touring group doing "ABBA" Songs however

  • This is NOT ABBA!!

  • I doubt the is ABBA/Mr Allendalify

  • this sounds nothing like agnetha/ frida.

  • Well, if you like to hear this sung by 2 women and 2 men you can listen to the version of the Guys & Dolls from the 70's

  • But it does not sounds like Chrissie Hynde either.

  • Screwwww up. The writer of this song is a lyrical genius. Chip Taylor. He is putting out music himself again and there are plenty on YouTube. And yes he also wrote Wild Thing and many other songs you know done by a lot of singers..

  • fake

  • Good cover of this song, intresting ceause it s a very different style as their other songs!

  • Not Abba singing and not Abba in the above photo! Epic fail!! Good song though ;-)

  • Juice Newtons version is better

  • @mrsadams81509

Yeah, the Juice Newton version is the best of all of them.

  • This song was written in 1967 by Chip Taylor, an estimable songwriter in his own right, and performed by Merille Rush and the Turnabouts in the late 60s (most famous version--still the best also). People who saw Ms. Hynde perform it on Friends seem to think she has some connection with the song other than a very nice cover. Chip Taylor's realname is James Voight--brothe rof actor Jon Voight and healso penned the ubiquitous "WildThing".

  • @Guardsman1111 Thanks for this information. I like the version by Rush best. Also "Wild Thing" brings me back good memories. I always remember the lyrics .........You make my heart sing.....................

  • @Guardsman1111 Not abba!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song was written in 1967 by Chip Taylor, an estimable songwriter in his own right, and performed by Merille Rush and the Turnabouts in the late 60s (most famous version--still the best also). • The first photo doesn't even show ABBA...It shows one of the many ABBA tribute bands from Europe.

  • lol. encore, encore, we want Chrissie coupled with a Megadeath slideshow! :D

  • I like it as Chrissie Hynde, but not when someone calls it an Abba song.

  • As a Swede.this is a fake.No More No Less.

  • so its a group pretending to be ABBA, siging a song that ABBA didnt do, hmm rubbish , get it off here

  • @tallandcoolone . No it's the idiot who put this up. The group is called the Pretenders who were chart toppers in the 80s. The singer is Chrissie Hynde who wrote this song, which she performed solo in an episode of Friends. There are several Pretenders songs on YouTube, and if you can be bothered to listen to some, you will realise that Chrissie is a much better vocalist than anyone in ABBA. The picture is not the Pretenders either, and the audio is distorted.

  • @derekcolman

sorry... Chrissie Hynde didn't write this song.

  • @bokesnmokes. Thanks for putting me right, should have checked. It was written by Chip Taylor. I was misled by Chrissie's character in Friends, Stephanie Schiffer, saying that she wrote it, and made an assumption knowing Chrissie is a songwriter.

  • @derekcolman Chrissie is a songwriting goddess, no doubt!

  • The picture isn't even ABBA.

  • You're a fucking idiot!!

  • not aba correct :)

  • lol fail, this is the Pretenders :P

  • I'm confused.

  • wait is this abba singing?? couldnt tell from all the comments lolz

  • No.

  • this is not ABBA singing...

  • Not ABBA but Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders.

  • I LOVE THIS SONGGGG! esp the part "they'll be no strings to bind your hands, not if my love can't bind your heart" can relate in a few diff ways hahaha ;)

  • Unmistakeably Chrissy!

  • NOT ABBA!

  • This isn't bad but P.P. Arnold's version remains that of who eveyone esle who ever sang this song compares themselves too

  • No no no this is the Pretenders. I love this song but I'm annoyed because I thought ABBA had done a version I hadn't heard... turns out you were just being silly...

  • @Rhedd1 thank you for saying "just being silly" and not something more vulgar:)

  • @Rhedd1 Actually ABBA made a version of this song in spanish. It's called ''Angel de la mañana'' and it's a beautiful song.

  • @Rhedd1 Hey I want to hear the version from the Pretenders...any links???

  • @Rhedd1 yeah you are right this is The Pretenders. i know their voice.

  • If you listen to a real ABBA song you will here the diffrence inthe voices. This isn't ABBA but it is a cover of the Juice Newton song andgel of the pretenders

  • Nunca imaginei que o ABBA havia gravado essa musica. Mto linda, conheço na voz de JUICE NEWTON...linda, linda !!

  • NOT ABBA!

  • Frida never sounded better

  • who is this....??????

  • @Rosegroom97 It is the Pretenders but Chrissie Hynde wasn't the original singer. This song has been around since the 60's and covered by many singers. Probably the Merrilee Rush version is the best known from it's early days

  • yep its the pretenders and they pretent to be singers

  • I think it's not ABBA but The Pretenders

  • @auddy1995 how long into teh song did you relise this? (took me the first word)

  • This is not ABBA!!! :-(

  • gostei.

  • esto es cualquier cosa menos abba las fotos son de grupos tributos alguna son solamente de abba todo esto no tiene nada que ver con abba

  • pretenders

  • wow juice newton version 100x better

  • @Macaframa1 And the Swedish song star Jill Johnson´s version 1000x better. Check it out here on YT.

  • For Abba fans you folks are sure nasty. They were a very PG band. All about the love.

  • When the vocals started, I was wondering why ABBA sounded so much like Chrissie Hynde. The comments then made it clear.

  • Actually I think this is Ellen Degeneres.....

  • you stupid fucking cunt, are you blind and deaf

  • Al least change the header! Abba never recorded this. It's the Pretenders as others have said.

  • Um... wrong band (as you've been told) but good song.

  • thats retarded, i dont even listen to abba and i can tell you thats not them...thats the pretenders.......

  • mom im ur angel of all the time..

  • This is not ABBA singing! This video is misleading, some of those pics are ABBA look a likes and no very good ones!

  • OMG Chrissy IS A MAN BABY!

  • A deaf man could tell this is the Pretenders.

  • It sounds like the Pretenders to me.

  • The reason the poster THINKS its Abba is because they got it from Limewire (*sniff* RIP) or some other Filesharing site. I have the same one and the person who made it labeled it Abba. Don't be so hard on this person... at least they put the song on for us to enjoy

  • @VTveggiebear Same as me. But I knew it wasn't ABBA right away. Nevertheless, that's a great song.

  • your provocation is welcome ! without predjudice, surly sumpin must irritate u ?

  • This song isn't ABBA and the first photo isn't ABBA. Awesome.

  • Being uploaded by a punk with the name of souljaboy the whack black shit stain whom calls himself a rapper. Indeed, the pictures are not ABBA. Maybe you were born without eyes or something but you at least you got the song right.

  • Why did you think this Abba?!

  • ...what? This isn't even ABBA, you retard.

  • WORST PHOTO AND COSTUMES OF ANY GROUP EVER!!!! No feeling at all out of all the ones posted. I saw a documentary of ABBA, and they said the women could not speak English at all. This was the best language the men thought as it would get more airplay around the world. I can really sense, hearing this, that they don't know what they are saying. Sad, they are so good otherwise?

  • LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • THIS THE PRETENDERS

  • juice newton owns this song, and does it the best

  • some of the ABBA Look a like's are a Australian group called ''Bejorn again'' they perform only ABBA songs, they toured Srilanka and I was at the show.

  • sounds shitty enough to be abba to me... hell sounds bad bad enough to be juice newton!!!

  • No.

    Who is this?.

    It's close to aweful.

I sincerely hope this is not ABBA.

    No, it's not them.

    Please.

  • No.

    Who is this?.

    It's close to aweful.

I sincerely hope this is not ABBA.

  • i think you made a big boo boo

  • Don't think this is Merrilee Rush - tto much timbre - but could be version I am not familiar with. The pictures are definitely suss - a cover band such as Bjorn Again?

  • Definite no ABBA.

  • Excellent song but i`ve given a thumbs down due to incorrect title

  • This is chrissy hynde for sure. Funny...I hit the play button & said to myself.. Self..dis dont sound like abba, wheres da disco? Yep..the pretenders. No voice like chrissy's cept different.Chrissy sounds like cher.

  • LOL @ the first pic, i don't think that's abba's faces

  • DREADFUL...... and NOT Abba, of course.

  • Somebody screwed this one up big time. Wrong group. Wrong cover.

  • Sounds like the pretenders to me

  • Esto no es Abba, la voz es de Chrissie Hynde. Gracias desde Argentina.

  • abba? hahahahaha

  • Fake! Not ABBA at all: Chrissie Hynde.

  • Thanks Chrissie Hynde Who is singing this version by the way

  • was excited to hear how ABBA would have done this song. D'oh!! but it made me wonder who would do a better version... ABBA or the PRETENDERS... I think Chrissie might just be able to out sing them... hmmmmmm makes you wonder. I wish ABBA had covered this song...

  • @garboil Yeah I was checking that out as well. Surprised how many covers are done of this song by well known musicians. I think Juice Newton is the best. check it out (I think she wrote it, but don't quote me on that).

  • You are an idiot....

  • Lo siento nadie canta esta canción como Juice...

  • Chrissie did a great solo unplugged version of this song on the tv show Friends.(it's here on Youtube)

  • hun this isn't ABBA. this is the pretenders. but it does kinda sound like abba. good song tho. <3

  • We have an idiot on the loose lol.

  • hey ! false advertising! Im so disappointed! Would have loved an abba version. is there one?

  • hey retard this is the pretenders

  • Not Abba. This is Chrissie. How do you make that mistake?

  • Isn't ABBA. this is Chrissie Hyden from Pretenders.

  • Wow, how could anybody mistake this for ABBA? Is this just meant to be a tribute? The Pretenders: always great. I love Chrissie.

  • ABBA???? It sounds neither like Agnetha or Anna-Frid.... their version would have far surpassed this!

  • ABBA's version is nice too.

  • Yes, right..this is indeed The Pretenders (with the incomparable Chrissie Hynde singing) and not ABBA. Honestly, both were fantastic groups.

  • It would be interesting though to hear an ABBA version.
