crapp and fake!!!! very diapointing video!! i thought it was going to be real and a good one!!!! nitros oxide cannot and will not kill some one!!! whoever made this video is an idiot:(
it's not the nitrous oxide that kills, it's the lack of oxygen that does. the body needs a supply of oxygen - O2 molecules - to be able to continue functioning. if you inhale a gas with no free oxygen - no matter if that's helium, nitrous oxide, or carbon dioxide - it will inevitably kill you, full stop.

You are a fucking dumbass. It will kill you if unchecked. The ratio is 70/30 N2o to O2. Without the O2 you will die from the lack of oxigen. It has been several years since my certifacation but I stil know the basics.

Strap a mask over your face and crank the nitrous oxide on full and see what hapens. For a better afect make shore you are by your self so that way when you pass out no one will be their to take the mask off. Then you can suficate and die.

what is AF? Your AF was around 20 in the beginning before you breathed in N20 and then it was around 10 after your heartbeat and Oxygen level stabilized, what do that mean?
i think the time matters more than the actual oxygen level... so 40% vs. 50% doesnt make as much of a difference as 1 minute vs. 2 minutes, as brain cells quickly die when deprived of oxygen for too long.
PVCs by themselves are not dangerous; that depends on the cause, though. if your thyroid function is normal, your heart is healthy, etc., they're nothing to worry about. however, PVCs can be signs for e.g. an underlying heart disease, too, so one should check with a doctor.
holy Shit bio your fucking awsome I totally a fan loved what you did with the Ritalin video and the concentration test Hopfully I can get to university one day and do the same shit as you. Ever thought about salvia.
what's the point in going to a cinema? having fun, i suppose... just, this is my way of having fun. i enjoy it... pure and simple. and as other people seem to enjoy the video, too, i put it on the internet. :P
I LOVE all your videos D: Especially the mercury ones xD I've been studying how to read an ECG for a tiny while now, so I'm going to take a few wild guesses :3 correct me if I'm wrong D: 0:00 -> normal sinus rhythm 0:21 -> uni focal PVC ? 0:39 -> sinus tachycardia? 0:52 -> no idea D: (possibly couplet PVC with AV block) 1:08 -> sinus tachycardia D: 2:33 -> multi focal PVC with s/w depression 2:51 -> normal sinus rhythm 2:56 -> multi focal PVC 3:00 -> another '' '' 3:33 -> sinus exit block
3:33 -> didnt hear that term yet, but yeah - the sinus impulse hit a refractory myocardium due to the excitation from the extrasystole / PVC; the beat is thus "skipped" and only the next sinus impulse is transmitted into a "normal beat".
okay, here's how it works: i record the video with my camera. i put the video on my computer. i load it into windows movie maker. i then plug in a microphone. i then choose "add spoken commentary". the movie runs on my screen, and i talk into the microphone, adding spoken annotations to the movie. i then save the whole thing and upload it to youtube.
man, i think it was so obvious that i did the speaking LATER - when editing the video - that i dont have to mention it. obviously i am wrong.
your such an idiot because of course i cannot talk when i am breathing from a balloon, so i did the talking later. you know, using a microphone while having the movie in the editor. probably too hard for you to understand how this works, but it does! :P
jeez, all those people with an IQ near their body temperature in degrees celsius are getting a bit on my nerves. ^_^
lol, that's the AF on the monitor; respiratory frequency (AF is for atemfrequenz, it's german). also, you can see the pulse on the SpO2 (pulse oximeter) reading. a pulse is generated by a beating heart, in case you didnt know. so simply pulling the sensor off gives an error, not a desat.
that pretty much proves that this machine is hooked up to a human (my) body... but only if you have knowledge and understanding about medical equipment, which YOU do not seem to have. ;-)
it is actually N2O, dinitrogen-monoxide, so two nitrogen atoms with one oxygen atom forming a molecule. yours would be nitrogendioxide, which is NOT laughing gas.
Just been looking up N20 in some of my pharmacology/chem books but none of them explain exactly how it works and i cant find any explanation as to if its the N20 + de-sat causing the blackout, if its just the N20 or if its just the de-sat.
As for its use, It says its still in use for dentistry and for labour. The books are kind of out of date though.
Maybe its just a british thing, i have not heard of anybody being given gas at the dentists for over a decade.
well, all i know is that i used to get it at the dentist about eight years ago still, but also i know that it is nowadays forbidden to use by a dentist and is only rarely used in hospital environments, due to severe incidents and side-effects that occured.
Yeah thats pretty much how it is over here in the UK, at least as far as i know.
Unsure about its use in hospitals though as thats not an environment i am around often, last time i was in the hospital as a patient was probably ten years ago, and about 5 years ago as a visitor. lol.
thanks... but do you really think so / have you tried? i find it almost impossible to pass out on anything (which is a good thing!)... it's not all THAT easy to pass out, it seems. feel dizzy, yes - but pass out for real, no.
Very cool, but one should be careful with that, of course you could watch the oxygen saturation, but other people who do the same might not realize the low levels of oxygen saturation and die by asphyxia. Anyway great video, quite interesting that you couldn't remember anything when the oxygen saturation was at it's lowest, probably a warning sign!
the N2O was contained in several balloons which limited the total amount of N2O available. The real danger come when you are breathing directly from a tank. The N2O is heavy than the air and will displace it. If you are in a small enclosed room it could displace enough air in the room then cause asphyxiation. You could have the same approximate effect from CO2, but it would have not been so fun. CO (carbon-monoxide) does the same thing also but renders red blood cells useless.
yeah, one balloon only contains 8g of N2O... and i think its much easier to desat on N2O than on CO2, because N2O also has anesthetic properties, while you'd feel the need for oxygen much sooner when not high / breathing CO2. i'm gonna try it with He at some point (when i can get a hold of some again); He is lighter than air AND doesnt make you high, thus, it'd be a good comparison.
i wonder if i sorta passed out at the point or something... but then again, i kept breathing into the balloon? damn, i cant remember anything from when i was at 56 percent. i should do it again, recording myself with the webcam and the ecg with the compact cam! =D
yup, das habe ich auch schon gehoert - aber danke fuer den tipp! vitamin B hab ich als tabletten da... und wenn die packung N2O dann leer ist, dann kauf ik mir n leckeres stueck kuh. ^_^

2:56 / 3:00 -> hmm, i think they're just monotop LVOT PVCs again
bionerd23 2 years ago
3:33 -> didnt hear that term yet, but yeah - the sinus impulse hit a refractory myocardium due to the excitation from the extrasystole / PVC; the beat is thus "skipped" and only the next sinus impulse is transmitted into a "normal beat".
overall: VERY well done! =)

Good vid....but at 1:10 it seemed like you were talking and inhaling at the same time?
ancxxxsold13r 2 years ago
okay, here's how it works: i record the video with my camera. i put the video on my computer. i load it into windows movie maker. i then plug in a microphone. i then choose "add spoken commentary". the movie runs on my screen, and i talk into the microphone, adding spoken annotations to the movie. i then save the whole thing and upload it to youtube.
man, i think it was so obvious that i did the speaking LATER - when editing the video - that i dont have to mention it. obviously i am wrong.
bionerd23 2 years ago
Oh ok thanks for explaining...i just was wondering why.
ancxxxsold13r 2 years ago
I'm just assuming that you have some sort of educational background in the medical field?
VAdirtyS 2 years ago
nope. i'm just self-educated. ;-)
bionerd23 2 years ago
your such an idiot because of course i cannot talk when i am breathing from a balloon, so i did the talking later. you know, using a microphone while having the movie in the editor. probably too hard for you to understand how this works, but it does! :P
jeez, all those people with an IQ near their body temperature in degrees celsius are getting a bit on my nerves. ^_^
bionerd23 2 years ago
This is a really hard video to watch! Why would you do this?! I hope there was someone there with you?
goonage 2 years ago
no, there wasnt anybody with me. i usually do all my experiments alone. :P
dont worry, i know what i am doing, though... this wasnt really that dangerous.
bionerd23 2 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
SO FAKE... Notice that she is not show or proving that she is breathing...
Txdave01 2 years ago
lol, that's the AF on the monitor; respiratory frequency (AF is for atemfrequenz, it's german). also, you can see the pulse on the SpO2 (pulse oximeter) reading. a pulse is generated by a beating heart, in case you didnt know. so simply pulling the sensor off gives an error, not a desat.
that pretty much proves that this machine is hooked up to a human (my) body... but only if you have knowledge and understanding about medical equipment, which YOU do not seem to have. ;-)
bionerd23 2 years ago
no, as that would be WRONG.
it is actually N2O, dinitrogen-monoxide, so two nitrogen atoms with one oxygen atom forming a molecule. yours would be nitrogendioxide, which is NOT laughing gas.

Whoa this one Scieds Me!
1:10 to 3:13
That's really Sciieds me!

man... this is dangerous.

Do you have this medical equipment in your home ?
Flapjackbatter 2 years ago
yep.
bionerd23 2 years ago
Haha, amazing video. loved it.
I have heard of people using the propellant in squirty cream( N20 ) to get a cheap high.
Wasnt it used as a dissociative anathestic like ketamine though? especially in dentistry.
Not sure if it has been phased out for medical uses nowadays, unsure about veterinary use.
TheCynicalAtheist 2 years ago
Just been looking up N20 in some of my pharmacology/chem books but none of them explain exactly how it works and i cant find any explanation as to if its the N20 + de-sat causing the blackout, if its just the N20 or if its just the de-sat.
As for its use, It says its still in use for dentistry and for labour. The books are kind of out of date though.
Maybe its just a british thing, i have not heard of anybody being given gas at the dentists for over a decade.
TheCynicalAtheist 2 years ago
well, all i know is that i used to get it at the dentist about eight years ago still, but also i know that it is nowadays forbidden to use by a dentist and is only rarely used in hospital environments, due to severe incidents and side-effects that occured.
bionerd23 2 years ago
*the above goes for GERMAN laws; it seems to be still widely used e.g. in the USA...
bionerd23 2 years ago
Yeah thats pretty much how it is over here in the UK, at least as far as i know.
Unsure about its use in hospitals though as thats not an environment i am around often, last time i was in the hospital as a patient was probably ten years ago, and about 5 years ago as a visitor. lol.
TheCynicalAtheist 2 years ago
well, i never had any at the hospital myself either... but i read / heard about it, anyway. =)

I just love your vids....extermly interesting. I would have pased out by 1:14 just from hyperventalation
ethanhines 2 years ago
thanks... but do you really think so / have you tried? i find it almost impossible to pass out on anything (which is a good thing!)... it's not all THAT easy to pass out, it seems. feel dizzy, yes - but pass out for real, no.
bionerd23 2 years ago
I have postural hypotension (I see stars if I get up too quickly) and I've come pretry close to syncope (passing out).
ethanhines 2 years ago
Looks like you had fun.
chao129 2 years ago
Very cool, but one should be careful with that, of course you could watch the oxygen saturation, but other people who do the same might not realize the low levels of oxygen saturation and die by asphyxia. Anyway great video, quite interesting that you couldn't remember anything when the oxygen saturation was at it's lowest, probably a warning sign!
JFischer91 2 years ago
yeah, that's why i stated that both in the video as well as the video's description: do not try at home!
i couldnt really watch my sats anymore at some point btw. because i was too high... ^_^
hard to tell if the amnesia is solely caused by oxygen deprivation, or solely by the nitrous oxide high, OR if it was a combination of both...
i am not able to verify that, as i cannot hold my breath or breathe air from a balloon for that long. :/
bionerd23 2 years ago
the N2O was contained in several balloons which limited the total amount of N2O available. The real danger come when you are breathing directly from a tank. The N2O is heavy than the air and will displace it. If you are in a small enclosed room it could displace enough air in the room then cause asphyxiation. You could have the same approximate effect from CO2, but it would have not been so fun. CO (carbon-monoxide) does the same thing also but renders red blood cells useless.
blizzard242 2 years ago
yeah, one balloon only contains 8g of N2O... and i think its much easier to desat on N2O than on CO2, because N2O also has anesthetic properties, while you'd feel the need for oxygen much sooner when not high / breathing CO2. i'm gonna try it with He at some point (when i can get a hold of some again); He is lighter than air AND doesnt make you high, thus, it'd be a good comparison.
bionerd23 2 years ago
O_O be careful. damn thats a desat!
alin0steglinski0 2 years ago
haha yeah, ftw.!
i wonder if i sorta passed out at the point or something... but then again, i kept breathing into the balloon? damn, i cant remember anything from when i was at 56 percent. i should do it again, recording myself with the webcam and the ecg with the compact cam! =D
...but im not posting that on youtube, lol.
bionerd23 2 years ago
lol
i wonder who will be allowed to watch it
alin0steglinski0 2 years ago
MAYBE me, but i'm not 100% sure about that, even. :D

Do it for science! Just be careful!

yup, das habe ich auch schon gehoert - aber danke fuer den tipp! vitamin B hab ich als tabletten da... und wenn die packung N2O dann leer ist, dann kauf ik mir n leckeres stueck kuh. ^_^
