That's full of it. I saw them last year just before Diamond Eyes came out, and they absolutely nailed it; Chino can still hit every note perfectly, and that's plus jumping off risers & whatnot.

As for this cover, Chino will always be my favorite, but Chester handled this one great. Better than the wackjob Atreyu cover anyhow.

Besides, Linkin Park aren't hip hop, they're alternative metal. A great guitarist can always write complex stuff for whatever type of music they play, otherwise it's just laziness. Besides, most musicians can play better than they do in pretty much all of their songs, doesn't mean they have to suck.

I had the opportunity to see these two bands here in Brazil. linkin park in 2002 (if I remember correctly) and 2010 ...... deftones in 2010. are the two shows I would many times they come. two bands are unparalleled. I've been in more than 20 shows, including last year's festival SWU. but nothing compares to these two bands. I only regret not having gone in fear factory, ill nino. : (

Linkin Park didn't sell out, besides for the tracks they did for the recent Transformers films. A Thousand Suns is very experimental, and has much artistic integrity. Linkin Park and Deftones both stay true to themselves, and if the fans like it, then all the better.

Chester is incredible at screaming, being in a metal band with a lot of 'unclean' vocals; I know what it takes.

There is opinion and there is fact, try to differentiate.

I think it's because he doesn't have a defined method or technique and just "wings it", most of his skill has been gained through practice alone I think (that is not official statement lol).

I know what you're saying about the later not appealing to some people, I recommend a good listen of their new stuff though, it's great when you get used to it.
