  • @williamstart123456 You tune it the same way as a 'regular' acoustic drum kit.

  • hey just so you know to make your cymbals last longer you might want to loosen them a little. otherwise they crack easier

  • @987654321adam Thanks, This is an older video. I've been playing with the cymbals much looser for about a year now. : )

  • Superb William. I've just bought the same set up. How long were you playing drums before uploading this video and is Rockband the only method of learning you've used?

Great video. I hope to upload one similar when discover what them round things are for.

  • @67GRC I just started drumming when Rock Band came out. My only experience with drums was when I was early teens messing around a friends kit. Once you get the kit tuned and replace the cymbals it's a great kit.

  • @skywilliam Well respect to you on an alternative but modern approach to learning. What cymbals did you replace the standard ones with Will? I can see they're Sabian but couldn't make out which ones?

  • @67GRC Sabian B8

  • Hey ARE the CYMBALS including the hi-hat, the ones that came with the kit?????????????

  • @Cheapchumps2 No, they are Sabian B8 series. I had to purchase them separately.

  • loosen up those cymbals, u will crack them.

  • @JCustomZ Thanks. SInce this was posted, my cymbals have been loosened quite a bit and they sound even better.

  • I'm feeling irony, I want to buy this drumset, I was looking up videos on it. And this is sadly how I also plan on learning drums when I get them.

Rock band to a drummer is like drum learning software plus a video game!

  • were you able to play already or were you learning the song with rockband

  • I learned how to play with rock band. I played the song often enough on the game, that playing it on the set seemed normal. But many songs don't transfer as well.

  • loosen that crash cymbal! :P good drummin :) this was the first song I learned on teh drums, it's a good one!

  • You do well but you're cymbals are crap.

Look on ebay for cheap deals on vintage zildjians. I say vintage because back then they only made one quality...the best.

  • i do the same thing man haha i love it :)

  • How do you like the Traps drum kit??

I am currently waiting for my kit set up with Joe. I will order the new 8-10-12-14 with side rack set up.

I'll try to record some video once I have the kit tuned and ready to play.

  • I love it. I didn't expect it to sound as good as it does. I did have to add the tone rings to the toms to get a better sound imo. As well, to cut down on some of the vibration to the snare coils on the underside of the snare drum. I have a little more vibration I need to get rid of on my high tom, but other than that, great set. ^^

Let me know how the 8" tom works out. I want one, but for some reason I cannot buy one. Unless there is another method?

  • cool vid

  • thanks

  • That was a great vid, I guess Rock Band is a great way to learn how to drum :)

  • thanks ^^

Rock Band does get you familiar to the motions. I'm still getting used to the crossing of the arms, and the hihat pedal took quite a bit of mental control. lol, Just trying to use both legs independently was frustrating, to say the least.

  • you are the MAN!!!

  • lol

  • great cover!! i wish i could drum like that haha. great song choice, also =)

  • Thanks ^^ <3 this song

  • Sweet kit and Awesome playing, Brian! So that's what you meant by "I can't wait to get my new kit." I'd say let's jam, but you're too far away, lol. 5*

  • lol just a WEE bit. Thanks. ^^

  • man.... those drums sound nice, tips on tuning? i'm getting the same set

  • I'm pretty new to tuning as well, to be honest... But I used a tuning watch counter. It resembles an air pressure gauge of sorts. You place it near each lug that you want to tune, and it gives you an analog reading from 1-100. Ideally, you want every lug to give you th same number reading. Then test out by striking near each lug wit your stick to hear the tone. Just like with the number reading, ideally, each lug will resonate the same tone.

    It's a great kit. enjoy!

  • thanks for the tips, keep drumming

  • nice job sky, i really like the tone of your kit. Can you detail the make up of your kit and how much did it run you?

  • Traps A400 stock kit: $600 - 10" high tom - 12" low tom - 14" floor tom - 12" snare Remo tone control rings: $10 x 2 packs Sabian Cymbals: $350 20" ride 18" crash 14" hihats (cymbals that came with pack, but not in use) 16" crash 14" crash 10" splash
  • Impressive! I love this song!

  • thanks. ^^ same here!
