Todays Epiphone SG's and Les pas are the very best made guitars to date. Epiphones only down fall is there guitars are way under priced for the top quality they deliver. Thats going to change. So why in hell would you buy a fake when EPI is the real deal.

I just got a Gibson Les Paul Custom from China (Tradetang) a lot of sellers on there so you have to pick one with good feedback and sales. (slsonglin401958498) was where I got mine and its FANTASTIC. Worked out at about $320AU WITH hard case delivered in under 2 weeks (spent a week in Beijing EMS) but that's not his fault. I couldn't be more happy with the guitar. I also got a PRS CE24 from another site (Aliexperss) around $320AU pick a good seller, case was poor quality though unlike 1st one.
I own a Gibson 1968 reissue les Paul custom triburst and a Gibson flying v and I am excited to buy my first fake. The prices Gibson charge are outrageous and totally fueled by greed. These manufacturers are making almost exact copies of these instruments with a little cheaper materials. Why not buy one? I'm just saying I could buy 17 of these guitars for what my two gibsons cost. Instead of bashing these companies, you should be bashing Gibson for their ridiculous pricing
A guy ripped me off with one of these fake Gibsons, it was a very good copy. What he doesn't know is that it's a 10 year prison sentence in our state. He's about to get a housecall he never dreamed of. And oyu can't lie your way out of it and say, "Gee, I didn't know it was fake when I sold it?" They don't care, your ass goes to jail. 10 years is a lot of time for a couple hundred bucks.
Used to be one of those die hard "dont buy, fraud, blah blah"-guys. But with the shit company Gibson is now, with their total lack of craftsmanship (dont tell me otherwise I played a bunch of em in the german "Musicstore" in cologne last week...even R8&R9s...) and their shitty CEO PLUS ridiculous, RIDICULOUS pricing and behavior towards dealers, I'm not going to support them anymore. Gibson custom shop flooded in 2010 and they shifted the custom shop guitars to Epiphone Japan shop and while that was going on they were shipping guitars to china and selling them for nothing through online stores.I knew what was going so I took advantage ,in this video I was trying tell people to buy them without giving it away.But that was over a year ago and it's dnoe for the most. it gives those who can't afford the real deal the chance to have the playing experience at a price they can afford. I have a China made ES 355 copy; which rocks, for nearly half the price of an Epi Lucille. And it looks very similar. I even wonder if they were made in the same factory. I would never try to pass it as real; but, these are great guitars for the money. at least 250.00 cheaper than in a big music house. works for me.

Although these pale in comparison, I can gig all night long and be just as carefree as can be when the inevitable drunk dipshit spills his beer all over my axe. These knockoffs are GREAT beaters! I just recently got my second chinese gibson, and these things play 100x times better than the lower end gibsons. and talking to the dealer i found out that their pickups, tuners, etc are supplied from an Epiphone factory in Korea, so basically your buying an epiphone with a gibson headstock. And yes, there is a difference between made in the USA and assembled in the USA
@MrTjgale Gibsons necks are hand-carved but the bodies are CNC machined. And Gibsons are loaded with Asian-made parts. I think CNC machines are better though, they make every guitar perfect and exactly the same. Carvin guitars are CNC'd and they are awesome. I'll take a Carvin over a Gibson any day.

I'm not gibson crazy. On a contrary, I prefer Japanese Les Pauls for many reasons, but when I hear someone saying 'go buy Chinese gibsons, cause they are great' ...well ...i makes me laugh. And I can only feel sorry for the one who says so or the ones who believe that for 200 $ they can buy GREAT GUITAR.
4. Stock strings are total garbage. Mine didn' t even make it out of the packaging before breaking...LOL You'll definitely need to swap these out. I went with a set of Gibson Ace Frehley Signature Strings (.009's)
Total cost, including shipping and upgrades, was about $530...not bad for an AFS.
2. The fretboard is rosewood and lighter in color than the real Ace models. You can (and should) request an ebony one, but it may cost you a bit more.Probably worth the money. (I "ebonized" mine with Fiebings Oil Dye to get the fretboad black in color..it was a real pain...I wish I would have requested ebony to begin with.
Thanks for the vids man!...You convinced me to go ahead and pick up one of these Ace models as a project guitar. Time from order to arrival at the door was 6 days...incredible.
Here's a few notes/information about these, in case anyone else is looking to grab one.
1. It is pretty well built, looks good, and does sound fairly good right of the box. They come with three generic/unmarked passive pickups. I went ahead and swapped these out for Dimarzio SD (DP100s-Bridge and Middle, Super 2-Neck)

I have 3 real gibson pauls and one of the chibsons and I replaced all the hardware on the chibson and pickups and it sounds like card board. The differenc is the wood.
I would not suggest anyone buy one for sounding good they play good but sound awful. They make a good wall hanging. Epiphone sounds better and Agiles are better then epiphone but the chibsons have the softess wood.
@zmanlive My friend has 2 fakes and they're both made of maple. They're fairly heavy but made very well. And after some upgrades, they now sound and play amazing...as good as my Gibson LP. But the fakes are hit & miss.

I mean..that kinda uninterests me in the guitar..The finish is amazing but I wouldn't buy a guitar that has all those pick ups...I'd want to swap it out for two active pick ups but that middle passive pick up would just leave a hole and i don't wanna spent cash on filling it out or anything like that..

@badsign1980 People just want a good product at a fair and reasonable price. That's the bottom line. When greedy companies price gouge, then people shop elsewhere. It's that simple. Do you enjoy being ripped off and paying inflated prices? Do you think it's fair that Gibson makes guitars for around $500 but then sell them to us for $2,500 and up?
I just checked the Tradetang site someone mentioned here.
I look at quite a number of guitars ... none of them had photos of the headstock from the front side. It looks as though they got into trouble at some point.
Some people talk about "wood quality". Basswood for instance has proved to have excellent sound properties (Parker Fly Deluxe guitars are made of carbon fibre reinforced basswood), it's light and has nice sustain, counterpart is that it is somewhat fragile and easily suffers bumps.
I really want to purchase one of the Chinese Ace Les Pauls, but i am concerned about US Customs. About how much was the fee and have you had any issues with your orders clearing customs?

A guy ripped me off with one of these fake Gibsons, it was a very good copy. What he doesn't know is that it's a 10 year prison sentence in our state. He's about to get a housecall he never dreamed of. And oyu can't lie your way out of it and say, "Gee, I didn't know it was fake when I sold it?" They don't care, your ass goes to jail. 10 years is a lot of time for a couple hundred bucks.

Used to be one of those die hard "dont buy, fraud, blah blah"-guys. But with the shit company Gibson is now, with their total lack of craftsmanship (dont tell me otherwise I played a bunch of em in the german "Musicstore" in cologne last week...even R8&R9s...) and their shitty CEO PLUS ridiculous, RIDICULOUS pricing and behavior towards dealers, I'm not going to support them anymore. I bet those fake Gibsons are even made in the same factories as Epiphone...

What's the point of buying a guitar that says Gibson on the headstock when you know full well that it's not a Gibson at all? That's the part I really don't understand. One thing I've noticed is that most people who owns a real Gibson wouldn't be caught dead with one of these Chibsons.

Gibson custom shop flooded in 2010 and they shifted the custom shop guitars to Epiphone Japan shop and while that was going on they were shipping guitars to china and selling them for nothing through online stores.I knew what was going so I took advantage ,in this video I was trying tell people to buy them without giving it away.But that was over a year ago and it's dnoe for the most. @CA746264 Ok idiot I can also send you an Assoc press.article on the REAL Gibsons that were smuggled out of Japan when the USA custom shop was being rebuilt and they were making them in the Japan Epiphone custom shop.I had a heads up on this and was told what to look for.This was back in april 2010 when the us shop was flooded and I bought 4 Usa Gibson custom shop guitars.They are all gone now and ,well you loose buddy,sorry your bitter about it.I will gladly sell you one at a huge Discount,10gs

it gives those who can't afford the real deal the chance to have the playing experience at a price they can afford. I have a China made ES 355 copy; which rocks, for nearly half the price of an Epi Lucille. And it looks very similar. I even wonder if they were made in the same factory. I would never try to pass it as real; but, these are great guitars for the money. at least 250.00 cheaper than in a big music house. works for me.

@CA746264 Strongly disagree! I own four real Gibson Les Pauls and two of the Chibsons. Although these pale in comparison, I can gig all night long and be just as carefree as can be when the inevitable drunk dipshit spills his beer all over my axe. These knockoffs are GREAT beaters! Don't get me wrong, my real Lester's get their share of stage time, but for them rowdy honky tonks that will certainly scar my babies, these chinese knockoff's don't let me down none!

I just recently got my second chinese gibson, and these things play 100x times better than the lower end gibsons. and talking to the dealer i found out that their pickups, tuners, etc are supplied from an Epiphone factory in Korea, so basically your buying an epiphone with a gibson headstock. And yes, there is a difference between made in the USA and assembled in the USA

@MrTjgale Gibsons necks are hand-carved but the bodies are CNC machined. And Gibsons are loaded with Asian-made parts. I think CNC machines are better though, they make every guitar perfect and exactly the same. Carvin guitars are CNC'd and they are awesome. I'll take a Carvin over a Gibson any day.

I'm not gibson crazy. On a contrary, I prefer Japanese Les Pauls for many reasons, but when I hear someone saying 'go buy Chinese gibsons, cause they are great' ...well ...i makes me laugh. And I can only feel sorry for the one who says so or the ones who believe that for 200 $ they can buy GREAT GUITAR.

4. Stock strings are total garbage. Mine didn' t even make it out of the packaging before breaking...LOL You'll definitely need to swap these out. I went with a set of Gibson Ace Frehley Signature Strings (.009's)
Total cost, including shipping and upgrades, was about $530...not bad for an AFS.

3. The wiring is fairly messy and is NOT wired like the real Ace models. Mine was wired like this....
Treble position = Bridge only
Middle position = Neck Pickup+Middle Pickup
Rhythm position = Same as middle (Neck+middle Pickup)
(For now, I've left the middle pickup unwired. I'm going to do a total rewire of this
in the near future...for 1 tone and 3 volumes)

2. The fretboard is rosewood and lighter in color than the real Ace models. You can (and should) request an ebony one, but it may cost you a bit more.Probably worth the money. (I "ebonized" mine with Fiebings Oil Dye to get the fretboad black in color..it was a real pain...I wish I would have requested ebony to begin with.

Thanks for the vids man!...You convinced me to go ahead and pick up one of these Ace models as a project guitar. Time from order to arrival at the door was 6 days...incredible.
Here's a few notes/information about these, in case anyone else is looking to grab one.
1. It is pretty well built, looks good, and does sound fairly good right of the box. They come with three generic/unmarked passive pickups. I went ahead and swapped these out for Dimarzio SD (DP100s-Bridge and Middle, Super 2-Neck)

I have 3 real gibson pauls and one of the chibsons and I replaced all the hardware on the chibson and pickups and it sounds like card board. The differenc is the wood.
I would not suggest anyone buy one for sounding good they play good but sound awful. They make a good wall hanging. Epiphone sounds better and Agiles are better then epiphone but the chibsons have the softess wood.

@zmanlive My friend has 2 fakes and they're both made of maple. They're fairly heavy but made very well. And after some upgrades, they now sound and play amazing...as good as my Gibson LP. But the fakes are hit & miss.

wtf ia is the point of three sets of passive pick ups? I mean..that kinda uninterests me in the guitar..The finish is amazing but I wouldn't buy a guitar that has all those pick ups...I'd want to swap it out for two active pick ups but that middle passive pick up would just leave a hole and i don't wanna spent cash on filling it out or anything like that..

Continuing about wood quality.
The only way to check is to scrape a bit inside the cavities.
Now, I truely believe that most the bodies of these Gibson type guitars are made of mahogany, mahogany is quite a common wood in these regions.
If you got the time, one of these days, could you check the wood on the guitars you own ?

I just checked the Tradetang site someone mentioned here.
I look at quite a number of guitars ... none of them had photos of the headstock from the front side. It looks as though they got into trouble at some point.
Some people talk about "wood quality". Basswood for instance has proved to have excellent sound properties (Parker Fly Deluxe guitars are made of carbon fibre reinforced basswood), it's light and has nice sustain, counterpart is that it is somewhat fragile and easily suffers bumps.
