Hi Sally it is amazing what you have achieved! Beautiful! And music is absolutely gorgeous, i kept on singing it after i listened it as well... xx Nuray
Was it difficult to work out your design? Ive read permaculture one and im still mostly puzzled on how to actually go about designing it. Thanks, Sally
Yes I have really struggled with my design. Rather than getting frustrated, I just did what felt natural and was shock at how well everything did. Nothing Died, I got tons of produce, and I didn't really have to do much work. Everything was planted very close to each other, 12 inchs or less, no rows,
I planted 27 heirloom tomatoes, 17 different peppers, and basil, mint, chives, carrots, onions, parsley, and chilis in between. Things grew on top of each other yet did very well. Big. No pest
I hear ya, I am trying to build swales to help infiltrate water into the ground during the wet season. Then plant deep rooted plants to help bring the water up in the dry season. I hope to reduce irragation needs to almost nothing this way.
Great job. Great first year. Thanks for posting. I carry a feedbag and a small light shovel in my trunk and usually when I go anywhere in the car, I make sure I return with a bag of manure. either cow or horse or chicken or goat. I keep adding, adding, adding. Most animal people need their pens cleaned. but I am lucky as I live in open range near the corral. Also have neighbors with horses, chickens and goats.
Thats cool. I grew a few onions, potatoes, herbs and picked a lot of blackberries, apples, and wild weeds this year, but my garden was a bit of a bust because I didn't have much time and the rabbits and birds were intense(though didn't like the onions and potatoes). Always next year. This video reminds and inspires me. Thnx.
Brilliant - thank you

Wow - lots of specifics to sort through, but let me make sure I'm on the same page: rocks, sticks, plants and music. Did I miss anything important???

Such a great musical backing - makes you stay on to watch the whole thing. Who is the band?

Shannon Hurley is the composer/singer. This was a remix I did.

very nice man. what all books have you been reading to help you along?
chrlbaseball88 3 years ago
I have read many books... I would start with these books:
Square foot gardening
Carrots love tomatoes
Grow organic
Plus there is a lot of permaculture vids on youtube. Look up bill mollison, david holmgren, and sepp holtzer.
