  • Oh, the memories! :-)

  • i couldnt even beat the 1st stage, i wud get to an elevator of sorts an jus keep getting killed by the monster on my way up :(

  • That's David Whittaker for you. The ending music makes me think of Obliterator, or some other game with Whittaker's music in it.

  • The music is awesome.

  • Yeah, it was a (too short) clone of Ghost'n'Goblins. One of my firts game for the C64. Tears.

  • epic i am a child once more lol

  • Good old one-hit death games.

  • Heh, I remember buying this game on my CPC just for the cover art. Actually, my father bought it for me, :P

  • awesome

  • This movie has made me realise how close I continually used to come to finishing this game.

    I am upset.

  • @cyclonus38

    Son, I am also disappoint!

I remember getting to those dragonish green thingies round the 4 minute mark,

didn't know back then that I was so close to finishing the game.

  • Very Metroid-esque.

  • @jamesgravil

I think it has more from Ghosts`n` Goblins

  • I used to love this game on the Atari ST 520 but never got more than half way through. Love it!

  • Reminds me of Metroid. o_O

  • I was never able to complete that game when I was a child. Way too difficult. The outro was great ^^

  • Thanx 4 the upload. My old man used 2 play this alot. This game was badass

  • yes...i like that music too:)

  • I like the music, too...but there are much better sounds on SID

  • This music is freekn awsome. Much better than the Amiga version. The atari version is also ok with plain synthetis, not bad sampling sound.

  • This better than the Amiga?! No way!

  • Anybody else think the music was awesome? :D

  • I do - for the Amiga version. Sound and graphics were the best on the Amiga in its hey-days.

  • wasn't this an Advanced Dungeons and Dragons game?

  • No, AD&D games were made by SSI

  • At some point, could you do Planetfall/Stationfall?

  • The games from the 80s are often harder to complete than later ones.

  • Never knew this existed. Cheers.

  • Nostalgia! u made it look too easy! i used to get stuck near the first bit. maybe because i chose the 'straight knife', but then again i was about 6!

  • Please tell me that wasn't the whole game completed from the beginning

  • Well games at that time came on floppy discs. It was kind of a new thing to have a 3.5" disc as well. So the games had to be this short.

Thanks for posting this video DerSchmu. Great memories.

  • The disc-size was not very much responsible for the length of games. Many games on tape lasted longer than this one (e.g. Lode Runner, Castles of Dr. Creep, etc.)

The true reason for the short running times was that the entire creation process of a game often lasted on only 1 or 2 people.

    And payment was miserable.

Working longer on a game = Longer time without sale/income.

Instead, games were given a high difficulty-level to increase play-times.

  • awsome O_O
