The disc-size was not very much responsible for the length of games. Many games on tape lasted longer than this one (e.g. Lode Runner, Castles of Dr. Creep, etc.)
The true reason for the short running times was that the entire creation process of a game often lasted on only 1 or 2 people.
And payment was miserable.
Working longer on a game = Longer time without sale/income.
Instead, games were given a high difficulty-level to increase play-times.
Oh, the memories! :-)

That's David Whittaker for you. The ending music makes me think of Obliterator, or some other game with Whittaker's music in it.

This movie has made me realise how close I continually used to come to finishing this game.
I am upset.

@cyclonus38
Son, I am also disappoint!
I remember getting to those dragonish green thingies round the 4 minute mark,
didn't know back then that I was so close to finishing the game.

This music is freekn awsome. Much better than the Amiga version. The atari version is also ok with plain synthetis, not bad sampling sound.

Anybody else think the music was awesome? :D

I do - for the Amiga version. Sound and graphics were the best on the Amiga in its hey-days.

The games from the 80s are often harder to complete than later ones.

Please tell me that wasn't the whole game completed from the beginning

Well games at that time came on floppy discs. It was kind of a new thing to have a 3.5" disc as well. So the games had to be this short.
Thanks for posting this video DerSchmu. Great memories.
