  • Great vid my dude just purchased one to mess around on, but was wondering if this would work for dub step songs made in rock band or other music software.

  • @BBoyInferno2k3 your video is very useful and now im thinking of buying one..my question is can i record my music on cds??? like i'll mix up my playlist but can i download the music on a cd..

  • Is it possible to use this with FRUITY LOOPS? i just picked one up at a thrift store...

For 15 bucks... wanting to know if i wasted my money or not...

  • @PestTheMenace - I don't know really, never tried using it with music making software. But you can use it with the Cross LE or Virtual Dj

  • would you use discover dj in a gig or would it not work?

  • @djoctofy - You could, but really it's limited. I would buy a more higher end dj controller for gigs. LIke when I got this, I just kinda bought it as something to travel with and have fun with. But in just my opinion, I wouldn't really use this for gigs.

  • Alright. I want to buy this product or did.....I have done a lot of research and it is intended for kids or people that want to mess around. At the cost of it you might as well go buy that stupid video game about DJing. If you want to create something good, something professional DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

  • @DjApprehension - Yea that is what I said in my review pretty much. That is why the controller is called "DISCOVER DJ" it's for beginners, not something to be taken really to serious. DJ Hero isn't even djing at all, it's a button masher with a wheel. Not really a comparison, the only reason I made the video is because some one wanted my opinion on it. I'm a real dj and use real equipment, the only reason I got this in the first place is because I got it for way cheaper than retail.

  • can you connect this to virtual dj?

  • @andriy716 - Yea you can use it with Virtual Dj, but it works better with the software it comes with in my opinion..

  • @B34TM4ST3RaBrEg0 - If you regestered the product when you first got it on the MixVibes Forum. Then you will be able to retrieve your key. That's basically the only way..

  • My friend let me have the set dj thingy. But he lost the Software..where can I get the disk? or can I download the software from a certain website? PLZ REPLY!

  • @SouperNintendo - You have to get it from the Mix Vibes website. Or you can maybe find the disk on Ebay or Amazon. But if you have a PC I can give you the zip file that contains the software..

  • @BBoyInferno2k3 I have a PC! Inbox it to me

  • @SouperNintendo - Let me find it, then I will..

  • how do you plug in headphone to hear the cue?

  • @philfizzle - You have to buy an external soundcard. The Numark DJ/IO or Native Instruments Audio 2 Dj are the best in my opinion for this and other non soundcard dj controllers..

  • I just got one of these but however i cant get it to work like when i plug it in it doesent do anything likeit wont play or mix and i have a windows 7 please comment

  • @TheLeos14 - Ok well you have to have the Discover Dj plugged in before you activate the software. Also make sure your version of Mix Vibes is current, register with the website. The version that comes with the controller is glitchy and outdated. If the problem is still happening. Then maybe it's the controller, these controllers are known for having issues. Even me I have my problems with the Discover Dj. But check all those things first, that's all I can really say..

  • Numark MixTrack (non pro) would it go on a netbook with 1gb ram and 120gb hardrive if i bought a external cd player

  • @hammer4ever - Yea, that's will be ok, but depending on how many songs you have in your catalog. I would down the line recommend getting more memory or an external hard drive.

  • i have a couple of questions

firstly i have a netbook with 1 gb ram and 0 gb hardrive will this work? if i bought an external cd drive also hercules seems to be better i need options on whats better because i wanna do parties, is this good for club music or just hip -hop because i am a big house, dance .club, techno fan what controller is better for parties ? thanks reply asap plz

  • @hammer4ever - This is a budget unit for beginners really. Like with a soundcard it can be somewhat club worthy. But personally I would never use this at any club I dj @ But don't get me wrong, for simple mixing be it Hip Hop or Dance. I spin both, it's cool if you want to mix and not do any tricks. But for serious spinning, and if you are on a budget. I would go with the Numark Mixtrack or it's Pro model. I have a Mixtrack with a Audio Two DJ soundcard and it works great and it very club worthy

  • @hammer4ever - Or one of the higher end Hercules controllers work too. It depends really on your budget and how serious you are about mixing and being mobile with a dj controller. It's a lot of good controllers on the market. But I would say no on the Discover Dj for serious mixing.

  • how do you cue a track on the headphones?

  • @kattfish1982 - You need a soundcard like I said in the video and in the discription section..

  • Gr8 thanks buddy!

  • Can you use virtual dj 7 with it.and can you connect headphones to it.?

  • @8191ent - No, it's only compatible with MixVibes Cross Discover Dj and you need an audio interface/sound card to be able to use head phones

  • I have an importent question bro.. can you connect headphones to listen to upcoming song while playing another one.. like a real dj seT?

  • @yaoded - No not with this, you would have to buy an external sound card or device. The Native Instruments Audio 2 Dj or Numark Dj/Io. This is a budget djing unit, you would really have to get something more than 100 to get the sound option.

  • Can you install the software on TWO computers

  • @1241Keith1421 - Yes you can, I had this software on my Laptop and PC

  • Nice computer

  • @x1800GENERALNOW - I don't know if this was ment as scarcasm. But this is my mothers PC I did this review on at the time. I didn't have my laptop with me. And the video quality is crappy because, I wasn't using an HD camera. But at least my message got across I guess. That's all I am hoping for..

  • just got mine for 26 bucks on ebay fuckers

  • @CODBlackOpsOnXbox360 - New or used?

  • @CODBlackOpsOnXbox360 - Wow you lucked out, well have fun with it till it breaks down. These things are known for one of the jogs going out! That's why I got another Dj controller!

  • ok so the low down. for it being a budget set up is it worth the money?

  • @strgzr53 - Well it's ok to mess around with. You can do simple stuff with the controller. But if you looking to get this to use with other programs and such..I would say no. This is cool to have for the price, but for a set up with other programs. I would recommend another dj controller..

  • @BBoyInferno2k3 unfortionately i have virtual dj and im wanting to grab somethin fairly cheap but still good enough to do a majority of my shit on the deck so i dont have to fool ith the laptop keyboard a mouse so much. i have virtual dj unfortionately. it was waaaaaay easy to learn but it lacks features like traktor kontrol and some of these other higher end programs.

  • @strgzr53 - There are a lot of controllers on the market now. Really it would depend on your budget, the more you're willing to pay for a good controller. The more expansion you would have, most controller are giving you an LE (Limited Edition) version of a software. Or you're getting a version that may be a custom version of a pro version of a software. And if you're using a specific version of virtual dj. You need to have a controller that you can be able to map..

  • @BBoyInferno2k3 i have virtual dj 6 pro and im pretty good with it not looking to spin just looking for something solid to mix with. im going to pick up the traktor kontrol s4 eventualy but 1000 is a bit much right this second.

  • @strgzr53 - Well the Kontrol s4 is $899 now. But really what is your budget? It's alot of good controllers out there you can buy. But it's really a price range thing. Let me know and I will help point you out to a good controller..

  • hii.. i've got the same discover dj.. do you can tell me how i can record the sound i mix in mixvibes programm on computer? and do you can tell me where i can find the recordings? thanks man ;)

  • @XHardstyleJunkieX - I did a part two video that covers the recording process..

  • I installed everything but when i plug my controller in the lights light up but nothing actually happens. ...

  • @ceejay2309 - Just like I have talked about in a few other comments. This controller is know to have it's problems. Ones that have been manufactured in 09 seem to have more problems then the ones made in 2010. Even mine have problems at times. The only thing I can say is, try and contact the company to see how this issue can be addressed..

  • how much u selling it for??

  • @grayrose96 - I don't think I'm going to see this. Due to the face that the unit is having issues. As alot of people have with these things. I don't want to pass the problem over to someone else. So for now I'm just going to keep it..

  • Hey, i just got this product...and have been watching all the videos i can find, every time i play a song and try to scratch along with it, the song completely stops while im scratching, making it sound kinda bad (although im sure its a combination my inability to scratch). Is that how its supposed to be? or am i a retarded person?

  • @TheSwazzlo - Well this controller is known to have it problems. First I would say, make sure you have the updated version of the software from the website. Also make sure you have the track going when you want to scratch. Sometimes the unit itself is kinda buggy. I've had my share of problems with the Discover Dj which eventually led me to getting another controller. All I can say is explore those options first..

  • @BBoyInferno2k3 Sounds good, thanks for responding. I am gonna try to update the mixvibes version, and see if it works, thanks for the help!

  • @TheSwazzlo - I know for me that it worked a lot better than the version on the disk.

Like I said earlier, this controller is known to have it's few problems. But the 1.3.2 update

    should work for you!

  • which other contrller do youu use now insted of dj discover ion

  • @terror562 - I use the Numark Mixtrack, Ion is owned by the Numark Corp. The Mixtrack has a different program and just more features. I will have a review later on this week on that controller.

  • do you know if this will work wit virtual dj software?

  • @LadyYingg - I know a few people who have this, and they have tried. I've heard mixed reviews, so really I don't know. But from different reviews I would step on a limb and say no. But at the samething I haven't tried to use this with any other Djing software..

  • with this system can i just make the background of a song play on side a while the lyrics and stuff of a different song play on side b?

  • @ThenoMorehero7 - Yes, you can do that!

  • @BBoyInferno2k3 keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewl :D

  • @BBoyInferno2k3 now how exactly would i do that? cuz i've been usin audacity and its just too much static in the back

  • Where can I get the software from...I have the machine but cannot find my disc

  • @TheMhughes34 - You have to be signed up on the Mix Vibes forum. Then you can get the updated software again on there. But you have to have the number that's on the back of the CD slip to be able to regester your product and be able to do all that. Because the file downloads as a zip folder. Message me if you have any problems, I may be able to help you..

  • Hey man, im new to the dj scene and having a budget turntable would be perfect for me...I was wondering what were your thoughts and using this for chopping and screwing tracks?

    Thx man, Steph.

  • @ThaRealHipHop2008 - This is an ok unit to have just really to get the feel somewhat. But I would so recommend a better controller in my opinion. With this one you don't really get a lot of options. But as far as chopping and screwing tracks....this is ok. I use it more for making scratch samples, and DJ Intros to some songs that may not have a 8 to t6 bar intro. The Mix Vibes Cross LE Discover Dj program it comes with is uber limited. And this controller isn't compatible with better programs..

  • can i just plug in an ipod in and do everything without my computer?

  • @21MiCHAELy - Not with this controller, this is software based. If you used an Numark IDJ2, IDJ3 or Mixdeck you can use your Ipod. There are other controllers that you can use too. But it's to mant to name..

  • help pls. i just bought mine. how the connections work. wer do u plug d headphones. when u connect the laptop to a speaker. then wer the heaphone should be plug? and ur suposed to hear the next song on the heaphone right while d other deck is playin. pls email me. b26nard@yahoo.com

  • @djbirdie26 - I will email you the answer to this. And what you may need to buy. But I have also stated in the video the answer that you may be looking for....

  • What controller do you use now?

  • @HamdeazSQ4 - I use a Numark Mixtrack, I plan to post a review of it soon. It's more of a true performance controller. Being that it has more features and the program it comes with is better.

  • and its with mixvibes

  • @djcrossfade - Yea it comes with Mix Vibes Cross LE. But on the website you can upgrade to the Cross LE Discover Dj edition. It's the same but a little better than the version it came with.
