  • they don't need the long intro which actually sounds like We're Not Gonna Take It by Twisted Sister, the middle part of the song is great

  • for those new to this music, this and other great bands were either canadian, or sold in canada. I remember this well as I was a teenager in canada. chiliwack, the kings and april wine are others to check out.

  • im 38 and ive never heard this before!

  • what the fuck is this??

  • this song shall be played on the stoke of midnight of december 21st of this year

  • This song is godly...nothing better than a little Prism in the morning.

  • for some reason i think i still got the 7" edited version

    i should upload it

    if i still got it

  • prism and rush are the best canadian band

  • Holy smokes! I never knew this was by Prism. Wow, I'm impressed!

  • shit as fuck

  • Im going to have to play this song when the worlds going to go to hell!

  • Just...plain...EPIC. :)

  • The opening and closing anthems are just fantastic. Hearing this song on KSHE or KWK in St. Louis as a kid had me humming it all day. The lyrics are a bit squirrelly but the chorus is decent. Overall, the anthemic aspect of this song makes it a classic.

As of 10/14/11, two people were carried low by Armageddon.

  • if i'm ever in a coma, i hope somebody will play this loud. i will either wake up or die happy! loved it since 1980.

  • tow top comments that are exactly the same!

  • this is the kind of song that should be sung before the end off the world

  • nothing better than listening to this song on the chairlift up the mountain. nothing else gets you more pumped.

  • My All Time Fave

  • I usually just listened to armegeddon and mirror man from this album .although on occasion i would listen to the whole album .

  • i remember lisinin to this song when i was younger and i didnt know what it was called and as the years went on ive craved hearing it more and more and still didnt know the name of it then i click on the vieo named armegeddon and i heard the intro and my jaw drops

  • Happy belated Canada Day!!!

  • LOL

when i was in grade One I was putting on my boots to go out for recess and taking my time ... I was all by myself and humming the beginning of this song (i had older brothers and sisters that bought the album)... my teacher came up to me with a disturbed look on her face and asked if I was alright!

    ROFL!

  • 2 bieber fans!

  • Oh God, we have one Bieber fan!

  • We listened to this song, album often..in high school. Great song. We always imagined our school getting hit at the end and it getting blown up so we didn't have to go to school anymore. No casualties of course... just the building..and maybe a teacher or two....or three... ;)

  • Prism is Legendary.

  • we use to listen to this while loading nukes on CF-101 a/c in Chatham NB..........

  • @Raevyn21078 thats so BA

  • @Raevyn21078 Not to piss on the campfire but there were NEVER any nukes in Chatham.....wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

  • @Raevyn21078 ... that's fucked up and counter intuitive. Thanks for sharing though!

  • saw them in sept 1979 pacific colissium vancouver still ranks as one of the best concerts ive ever seen

  • Luv the radio interface at the begining...

  • @ChuckieInMT Recorded by producer Bruce Fairbairn and a former Cdn. Forces fighter jockey. The whole story is in Rocket Norton's book "Lost in Space" - very cool!

  • Shania was excellent until some Mutt got a hold of her pinkflyodinspace!

  • I wonder who the one person to dislike this song is >.>

  • @draykore13ownsyou An American?

  • @NHFandHFP No way, eh?

  • This definitely has to be their most immortal song ever. Rock On!!

  • awesome music they are immortal

  • Yes one of the best Canadian Bands!!!!

  • A good song played about the Cold War

  • Canadian rock bands completely owned the late 70's though the early eighties. RUSH,Triumph,Saga,Red Rider,April Wine, and Prism. Bryan Adams and Celine Dion are an embarrassment to Canada!

  • @pinkfloydinspace 80's Bryan Adams is good...don't knock him like that. BTW BA helped write some of the songs on this very album. He also helped Kiss on a couple songs from their "Creatures of the Night" album from 1982. His songwriting partner is rock producing legend & ex-Prism member Jim Vallance. The real embarassments to Canada are (imo) Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Teri Clark, Avril Lavigne, Nelly Furtado, modern day Nickelback & especially Justin Bieber. I'm sure I left others out as well.

  • 1979

  • There is no band like these guys! Thank God for Canada!

  • FOR THE WIN.

  • I remember this song as one of the top call in's during the C-FUN days.

The orchestra blended with the rock was what made it stand out. Led Zep and a couple others who used the rock and symphony mix had hits...ref Kashmir.

  • @tom080955 C-FUN and CKLG 73. AM radio at it's finest!

  • @cheffie46 lol those stations sure bring back the memories

  • Wow! It seems like this was just the other day...

  • I LOVE THIS BAND!

  • Such a powerful and moving beat, especially the intro. A pefect blend of mellow and rock.

  • one of the best songs ive ever heard, and ive heard a lot of songs

  • Hollywood should make a movie of Prism!

  • Oh man!!! Loving the rocking HORN LINES!!!!! Any great rock band can be amplified with a horn section. CLASSIC!

  • Aaaaaaaarmageddon! Carry me hooooooooome!

  • I have this on my music list. A must have forever!

  • I don't think there is one Prism tune I don't like. Rock on forever!

  • What did we ever do without you tube?

  • This is the one favorite song of PRISM that I will always love...The late Ron Tabak puts so much emotion in this one song..It is so beautiful;ly sung....

  • I remember this song and found the CD on line. This came out when I was in High School. I believe I was turned on to it by one of the local college FM stations. brings back memories

  • A second examination discovered a blood clot had developed on the right side of his brain. Tabak died before a pending neurosurgical operation could be performed ; he died on Christmas Day 1984

  • Upon being released, Tabak abruptly became abusive, prompting two police officers at the hospital to arrest him on the belief he was drunk. He was later discovered unconscious in his jail cell and was rushed back to the hospital.

  • As far as you clowns regarding the DWI of Ron you are full of shit. Sheesh

  • this remind me of when i first heard them in Surrey back in 79 at king goarge apertments

  • Possibly the greatest voice to be snuffed out by his own hand. Ron tabac. The lead singer who lost his life to a accident. Was in the primeof his life when this song hit the airwaves. It is a sad shame to lose someone so gifted and yet not so smart driving drunk. He will be missed, there was no other with a voice like his.

  • I had always heard that he was picked up high on something, and died in the lockup jail.

So it was a drunk driving accident! Thanks.

He was one of the best!!!

  • "hen disaster struck on Christmas Eve, 1984. Tabak was cycling across Vancouver to visit friend and bandmate Al Harlow. As the two had planned to spend Christmas together, Harlow last saw Tabak on the afternoon of the 24th when he drove to pick up Tabak and his luggage. He instead insisted on bicycling to Harlow's Kitsilano apartment as part of his fitness activity. Tabak was struck on the head during a fall when brushed by a passing car at about 8:PM.

  • He was brought to Burnaby General Hospital by ambulance and was told there were no injuries. In fact pressure from an anneurism in his brain was causing Tabak to behave erratically, and police attending the ER arrested him. After several hours in a jail cell, proper diagnosis and a transfer to Vancouver General Hospital for emergency surgery, it was too late.

  • Early Christmas Day, Tabak's mother was advised by telephone that her son's condition was grave: A scan had revealed a blood clot on the right side of his brain, as a neurosurgeon prepared to operate. Ron did not regain consciousness and died December 26, 1984.

  • Love The Beginning of this Song, I always thought it would be a great way to Start a Concert.

  • I agree. I'd do just about anything to go to a Prism concert.
