YEARS LATER AFTER THIS TRACC WAS PUT OUT EVEN A YOUNGIN LIKE ME KNOWS REAL MUSIC WHEN I HEAR IT 85 BABY AND I BANG THIS SHIT LIKE IT JUST CAME OUT IN LOVE WITH REAL MUSIC!
I concur , this is indeed one of the least recognised tunes of the chilites but pure chilites. BIG BIG chune love it Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad
The Chi-Lites are awesome. Their ballads mesmerize me. Maybe it's my partiality to this dynamic group' There will never be another lead singer like Eugene Record. I just love the way he sings.
Just when I thought I've heard all of the Chi-lites tunes, I come across another one that slipped by me back in the 1970's. Another diamond- in- the- ruff discovered. Thanks for posting. I love this one.
One of the Chi-Lites under-rated smooth ass Love Songs. Eugene Record was a strict ROMATICIST. HE knew how to to talk the panties off. Unlike most young artists today. They don't have a clue!
I can't believe an entire year has passed since I posted here........"Just Two Teenage Kids" remains my personal favorite Chi-Lites song, and the late Eugene Record remains one of the most gifted lead vocalists in the history of R&B/SOUL music. Within the past year, the Chi-Lites lost another of their original members, Robert "Squirrel" Lester. May God embrace his spirit, as well as the others who have passed on. I loved the Chi-Lites....we may never experience music of this quality again.
All I can do is agree with all your comments. As a ten year old kid, my sister introduced me to The Chi-lites and I have loved them ever since. Eugene Record was an incredible singer and songwriter.
@aliquippawill I just posted somewhere that I used to play this song as much as I did A Letter To Myself. It was the music that really got me hooked, especially the dramatic ending. I miss real instruments....and real love songs. Very underrated group.
Sometimes cruising through YOUTUBE is like walking through a Diamond field; you can only HOPE to get lucky like this! This is not only my all-time favorite Chi-Lites tune, it happens to be one of their least recognized & appreciated truly GREAT recordings. This is one of those "Diamonds" I feel very fortunate to find! Thank you, "Mroldschool70s". Being the age of 52 myself, this is exactly the kind of tune that gives "OLDSCHOOL" a pretty good name.
I too have been looking for this song every since someone stole my album. I'm only 40 but my father played this music all of the time so I know my 60's - present music.
Thank You more Mroldskoll70s for that real good feel good classic, it's a favorite track I enjoy when I can. Thank you, for sharing that rare track, if only more people would share the real good things in life that was meant to be shared, and abided by making others' time in the world more enjoyable...
Thanks for uploading this beautiful song. It's amazing how music, especially ballads, can stir up such powerful feelings and take us back to the days when we were so young and vulnerable. "Just two teenage kids, putting in our bid..."

@Mroldskool70s
what a real understanding of love Eugene Record had...and the unique ability to put it into words.
Teenage heartache, slowdragging at basement parties, the feeling of being love for the first time, it's all in there. Oh to do it all again......
