Ok.I am not insane.I had a friend who would play "spy-chess".before the game we would designate(on a pieces of paper,face down so no cheating and proof could be claimed) which pawn on the other guys side was a traitor.One could either call it when that piece was attacked and nullify the attack,or do as in the video and back-stab.It was especially fun after a few pints and in the heat of Battle.Greg Foster was his name.Anybody who has a good friend to play chess with should try that derivation.

The common question of what the pawn turning against the king in the end is, si somehting i can explain. It is a common mistake in chess to leave you king behind a line of pawns by itself, as it merely traps it and sets up for the killing blow. This is an analogy in the animation for that of either a spy killing the king, or the common people, disposing the king to stop the unpopular war. Regardless of your opinion of chess, this animation is just excellent, i doubt many of you can do the same.

They whole point of this video is to personolize chess and make it look like actual war, and in actual war there are betrayals/spies so that pawn turing against the king was just fine in my opinion. Also, it was probably made to test out his/her skills in animation, not to show off moves (hence all the close up camera angles so you don't see teh whole board.)

And they are wrong. Silver=White, Copper=Black, so the setup is correct. But the chess is silly, and anyone trying to find good chess here is mistaken. The point of the video is the spy-pawn who turns on the King.
