I owned a 2006 (first year for drive by wire throttle) and 2008 (YCCI - variable length intake) ... both of those bikes were incredibly stiffly sprung and the suspension and high CoG seemed awkward if you didn't bend them hard through corners. But once you did, the handling was absolutely glass edged and you could carve some really deep lines.

I can't even imagine how this bike behaves. It must be a completely organic experience to push it at 10/10th's.

I am a motorcycle mechanic and all the 600's are great. The Ninja blow rods alot because people stunt them. But the R6 is an animal and has the sweetest sound. Love them.

I'll be at New Jersey Motorsports Park tomorrow and will once again see Yamaha's in the podium. Sometimes a sweep. R1 R6. Great bikes.

Cool 600. The stock 600 is already a bit rough as far as ergos go, though...and the race one is worse you say. Sounds like you'd really only want to have this thing on the track.
