This looks absolutely abysmal. The battle speed alone is gut wrenching. This wouldn't have been at all decent back then. Hell, RPG's were better during the NES era than they are in the current generation, unless someone wants to convince me that the latest generic anime ARPG is as good as Dragon Quest IV.

Tales of vesperia is better than Dragon Quest IV. I enjoy a plot that is more than a straight up melodrama. I like it when characters are complex, well written, and unique. Dragon Quest IV is a fun game, I like it.

But claiming that it is better than current generation rpgs just because you have nostalgia does not a sound argument make.

Alright, there's a long story behind the Famicom crack of FFVII. Yes, this game really is FFVII. NO, it doesn't contain any real sprites of characters. The Battle System is severely limited (No limit breaks/extremely limited materia), And the game itself looks like shit. The game was created entirely from FF 2 and 3, and so instead of a real game it's basically just FF3 all over again. It cuts out several major pieces of the storyline, and it's basically a piece of crap game.

This would be a cool idea, if not for the fact that this work is terrible. The battles are horribly programed (this guy took two minutes to beat the first enemies!! I know its pirated, but did the programmer even bother to PLAY it?), and sprites have been cheaply ripped-off. Not to mention that the music is definitely not an 8-Bit version of FFVII songs. This is a lazy patch job. It would be cool to see a SNES version of FFVII though.

i'm going to track down this rom (probabily take me 10 mins tops lol) though i allready (1:30 into it) dont like the castle look ... although i do realize (even before viewing this) that they recolored and transplanted sprites and such from other famicom ff's and the like... i'm not sure about the body but the head on cloud is definitely the warrior from ff1... i agree it wouldnt be too hard to use midis of ffvii especially since this is to be ran off an emulator and more appropriate enemies...

Music: Sounds dull, weak, and when it comes to the exploring it just makes you fall asleep. score:1.2(some are ok, how come sometimes the battle music alternates per battle?)

Gameplay: Wow... cowabungah... Cowafuckin piecea dog shit!! Really just look at this... the battles take too damn long, it looks to hard(harder than FFII), the characters either don't have alot of strength or the enemies have waaaay too much health, and its just ridiculous. score: 2.0(Too slow for a FF)

Barret is WHITE!? Cloud looks,hmm.. okay. Jessie, Wedge, and Biggs all look like characters you would see in like a 70s-90s cartoon. Aeris..oh boy..poor..Aeris..worse than her death in this game.. she looks more disapointing than Rosa from FF4 on the SNES(I mean cmon,she looked like Zelda),I don't want to even know what Jenova looks like when it zooms in on her without a head...let alone the rest of the game.
