thanks for the reply. i am converting my 8ight to electric as i'd like to do speed runs as well. i will try the spool diff out. did you like the tekin system? what were your temps with the 2050 with your gearing? i was thinking of going for the full 2650kv and 6s to try and get to 100mph. any advice?
the temps with a 21/45 were around 63c, ambient temps also has influence on temps so make sure the car is well ventilated, i recommend a castle fan shroud for added insurance.
The 2650kv will generate more RPM, but at the cost of extra heat:, however, the 2650kv is faster, for potentail 100mph+ run, would go with the 2650kv plus a castle shroud+ i would make sure the ESC is correctly programed via hotwire for fast yet cool run
i thought the smart diff is meant to free up the drive train when off-power so not sure what advantage you in this setup. i would have thought the spool diff insert LOSA3609 would have helped you more. if i am missing something, please explain?
i wanted to install the smart diff, simply to try it out, the smart diff is predominatley used for the track, not for speed running+bashing: And yes the spool diff Losa3609 is more of an advantage for fast runs,
having said that, i have found the smart diff to give controlled motion under hard acceleration and increased all round grip:
ps, No, your not missing anything, i usualy experiment with my cars sometime out of pure curiosity.
ok well, the buggy is actualy perfect in stock form, for the purposes of "track" racing the tuned flex chassis technology is set up by Losi, and its perfect, for speed running i do recommend the alloy braces and alloy top fron plate, also the alloy hubs and spindles are a great addition for bashers&racers as are the titanium stand offs.
Decide on what your using your buggy for, then add the rellavant upgrades, i have mentioned

Very nice additions there!
What upgrades or alu parts would you recommend? I've just ordered the nitro version because I was so impressed!
