I broke up with a girl and remembering that i just bought her 2 records of these gentlemen earlier that year. I re-purchased them and taped them and drove to work 110 roundtrip miles 6 days a week BLASTING them and WHOA.....i passed thru that lowly, dpresssed funk in no time.
this is very cool. The only thing I ever knew from them was "Soil", which I really liked. They seem to have this signature, Eastern influenced sense of melodicism.
i never thought i would find another fan of this band, let alone one who makes videos to their heartwrenching tunes.
when i was 19 i went to a caroline record release party in LA and met the drummer as i had an abecedariens t-shirt on and he was thrilled. (i, though, was shamefully drunk and acting a teenage fool). that is when i found out they had broken up.
This is the first abecedarians song I heard on college radio around 1986, I think. They have been one of my favorite bands ever since. It's great to see that people still remember them and love them as I do. I have a video of them playing a gig in Redlands, CA and if I ever figure out how to put videos on utube I will post it.
I typed in Abecadarians on a whim and found your homebrew videos! How cool!
They were a really good band. I used to see them perform around Los Angeles in the 80's - another group I really liked that played with Abecedarians quite a bit was called Man From Missouri. Know them?
Abecedarians was brilliant. Wish they'd reunite.

I saw them play at UCLA way back in the mid 80's. This brings back a lot of great memories.

This is one band I really miss. Thanks for your video's. I don't have a record player anymore so I can only listen to what is here. :)

Thank you for your heartfelt comment.
Hey, if we didn't all do something a long time ago that we're now a bit embarrassed about, chances are we didn't have any fun.

Thank you! I'm not familiar with Man from Missouri, but I'll have to see what I can find. :-)
