Ive gotten into basketball this year and I feel like 90s was the golden time of NBA with the Bulls team. Wouldve loved to watch these when they were fresh. But I was 9 when Jordan won his last championship and I couldnt give a shit feel like I missed out on some great moments. And now that I would want to follow NBA its cking lockout how great -.-
Another great game. MJ took Ray Allen to school and I loved how Scottie cought fire in the 2nd half. 4:49 "Look out for Scottie Pippen who only has 4 pts in the 1st half ". What happened next? 21
3rd Qrt pts. Awesome. I loved chillin time on the bench to. Mj and pip icing their knees. All in a days work. I miss these days.
He he I never got why MJ decided to wear those big ass socks that season. Of course, being 15 back in '97, I wore them too. Everybody wanna be like Mike : )
He did wear it in some games, but he was obviously feeling better in some games, and at 35 was still the best athlete in the nba dunking on 7fters off of 2 feet. He lost a little weight in the off season too and i think that probably helped his tendonitis and his jumping
er, dont think so. No offense to you in particular mate, but what is with the jordan lovers saying whatever comes into their heads? "he never travelled" "he was the best defender ever" blah blah. look at how many times he has to wave off (which is actually an offensive foul) defenders in the later years, 96-98. thats not the best athlete in the league
EER if thats the case why is it that when Kobe is guarding him in the 3 games they met MJ blows by him frequently, oh and he did the same to TMAC, CHRISTIE, HOUSTON (who dropped 53 on KOBE in 03 LOL) all of these guys were young yes but better athletes than they are now!!! Not better players but athletes and he smoked the lot of em
Oh and the reason for the "wave off's" is that hand checking was legal which meant when ever he put the ball on the floor they could actually push him away from the basket with their forearms and hands LOL Now you can't even touch people, NO OFFENSE but please provide me with someone that was a better athlete at the time aswell??? Oh the season before as a 34 yr old he dunked from the FT line in a nike commercial, KB need multiple efforts to do that at 19 LOL
I always wondered this as well. It's like MJ made a fashion statement that NBA season with the floppy socks & no leg/knee brace. Not to mention he was rockin' the Jordan xii's that season
2:46 is smooth, his left handed handling is definitely underestimated by a lot.
again, at 4:39, left hand drive totally blows by allen with that extra change of direction fake at the end to stun baker and allen. you just dont see this now anymore.
by the way how many times mj get by this young healthy allen (not that allen is a tremendous defender)to score? it is ridiculous considers he is not in his prime-prime.

I recall that Dennis Rodman hit Joe Wolf in the groin in this game, got a 1 game suspension. The Bulls beat the Spurs in the next game 111-69.

has anyone ever figured out why MJ never wore his customary red/black knee brace during the 97 season?
arkade2345 3 years ago
maybe he felt better with the injured lower leg? i wonder why as well.
