Truly a NYC/Philly CLASSIC. That area was clearly THE center of the dance world late 70s thru early 80s. NYC was on fire! This was all over the boxes, in the streets and parks.
This song brings back my childhood memories. I remember going to one of the Positive Force concerts as a little girl around age 9. I'm the daughter of Bernard Roland in the red and white suit. That was my first concert and I remember feeling so proud of my father. I'm such a daddy's girl. This song still puts a smile on my face and is enjoyable to listen to.
Thanks Musicminor! everybody thought they came from New-york or Jersey! i had the pleasure of meeting the Group in Lagos Nigeria 1981 at our National Theater.my Band at that time mastered this song "Religiously"and yours Truly was on Guitar and played those licks to the "Tune"....woow!!! memories thanks "TSOP"
Positive Force was a house band that played for the Sugar Hill Gang (Rapper's Delight). Brian Morgan is on guitar and he's making that thang talk! Play boy!!
OMG!!!! This tune was (and still is) my favorite!!! When I first listened to this song, it sounded like they're having a party in the background of the recording studio lol. Thank you so much for bringing me back to Funky Classics Lane!!!! YOU ROCK!!! Added to my playlist!!!!

We got the funk we don't mind if you choose not to all we we want is to get down and have fun.Vicky's got the funk,Byrd got the funk.Everybody get around we got to funky till the sun gets down.Wow that was a great song basck in the days is so fantastic
I'll vinyl rip it if I have to, this is absolutely fantastic. As a child of the 90's, I can honestly say that I agree with many of the nostalgic disco folk who commented on this video.
We got the funk but I think the black community has lost the funk. Everything today is watered down pathetic rap, hip hop crass materialism and commercialism. How did it ever replace the great music that the blacks put out back then. It's doesn't even come close to the old school hip hop artists who and rappers were at least geniune and original and brought something new to the table. Bring back the good funk and soul that you know how to do.
@pluggedin2u SOULED THEIR SOULS TO THE DEVIL... put anything out just for a dollar & dont care if it makes folks jump out their seats like this one does to us 70's/80's cats... do you think that the garabge of 2day will move a crowd like this joint does/did.. Disco/Jazz Funk never dies it went underground & had a baby & called it HOUSE!!
Musicminor25 - thanks for the post. Growing up I remember this funky jam; although I didn't know the group was from Harrisburg, PA (I've got folk from there) Philly's in the house!
@pascal71ful You're right ! I think blck music forget to contrôl production and managering ! It's more important to propulse young black creation ! But black prefer to create a smple music in rap !!! African-American lose there power in rap !!!
@pascal71ful That's exactly what I'm trying to find out. In fact, urban radio in NYC is so half ass that they barely play anything that's good these days.
@pascal71ful Today's funkless , feckless recording producers chased the easy money instead of pursuing excellence like back in the day, thereby losing The Groove.
