  • This is my first look at a model railroad layout outside the US that is actually a layout of European railroading rather than American railroading. Very nice layout and very good details. I like it alot! Thanks for sharing.

  • @leedsunitedboy123 Thank you , there are some good ones out there t hough if you look

  • Love the flashing lights, great video. Recently found your videos so not sure if you've mentioned in another, but how long did it take you to construct what you have so far? Looks like a lot of time went into it, more than most people would spend. In all honesty, I'm jealous of this beauty. ;]

  • @SkullMasterMusic Thank you for your too kind comments, it all started just 3 years ago, and as you see I kind of got carried away. But I have enjoyed doing it, and you never finish a layout , I am still changing things

    Cheers

    Mike.

  • sounds and looks great , like the belisha beacons , where did you get them from ?, is that a new Shevoke dustcart in the foreground ? Black 5 looks superb .

  • @REGWARNE12 Hi Phil

The belisha beacons are from Modelex Birmingham about £10 on line, that duscart was the new one , not sure of the name, and the black 5 has a good sound, bought it from Hattons , but first one came and the axle pin came loose and consequently the connecting rods got bent , sent it back and 2 days later a new replacement, good service

    Cheers

    Dave.

  • @howarth004 Thanks for the info Phil

  • Looks & sounds superb..that Black 5 is now on my wish-list!!

  • @bobtoo07 It is a nice looking Loco and sounds well

    Dave

  • Nice one david, now i just need to get the rest of the ruddy base board done & the town, then i 'll have to get those belisha beacons. The Black 5 nice :-). I'll have to get mine sound chipped!!. As for the flashing tail light watch this space!! Top video, 5*

  • @ay76 Thanks Iain, I keep adding a bit , then dismantling , then adding a bit more, it never ends, keeps me out of trouble, except when Deb finds out how much I spend.!!!

  • Excellant video My friend. The sounds and lights really help with that extra bit to make the layout truely magnificent

  • @pwalpar Thanks Walter, we keep trying to inprove , I like a bit of glitter.

  • The lights and sound really bring the layout to live, Awesome video :)

  • @theLEGOcommander1 Thank you young man , glad you like it.

    Dave

I have Black 5 No. 45190. Pete Waterman collection.

  • superb scenary the zebra crossing rearly makes that scene come to life!

my new layout is almost complete apart from the scenary, this can be added when time and funds allow. thanks for posting

    Dave

  • i like the road beacons and the black 5

  • @jaannetts16 Thanks jaike, they do look well

  • how did u do the water in the canal?

  • @MrFlix76 Easy , just blue paint , then 3 coates of Gloss Varnish, just need to cut a recess first , to give you some depth

  • i looks O gauge!

  • @eanat11 No I can assure you it is 00

  • @howarth004 yes, i know but it looks it from the camera!

  • GOOD VIDEO!!! 5*

  • @jordimikado Cheers mate,I keep trying to inprove

  • Great new additions Dave. You really do have a great layout Dave, another of your videos into my favourites!

  • @ADMIRALSCORNER Thank you Mike , thanks for the gift, I also not sure what I am doing on that channel, it is amazing what you can buy now for model railroads.

  • @howarth004 Me too! At the recent model railway show in Taunton I was impresed by a stand showing a large range of working lights for streets, vehicles and all sorts. Very realistic now and reasonably priced, but once you go down that road with a large layout like yours it could be very expensive!

  • @ADMIRALSCORNER Yes well I dare not let my wife see my bank statements, but if it is something you enjoy?? put another way , could go on a cruise and it is all blown in a couple of weeks, spend it on model railway and you have it 52 weeks of the year. (that`s my theory anyway) not that Deb agrees.

  • And here's me with a bright blue plastic Thomas the Tank Engine set from Tomy.........

  • @pondguru think that is how a lot start on this hobby Richard, it`s like getting first Golfish and bowl, then before you know , an aqarium

  • its looking great as per usual a great inspiration to anyone wanting a dream layout keep up the fantastic work cheers

  • @steveallen808909 thank you Steve, not that good ,but always look better on film?

  • wow great video again

  • @jmsschooner Thank you young man

  • Fantastic as always.

The layout is really evolving Dave. You should do another video showing it from first track down to today, because you've spent so much on it (time + effort + financial (just don't tell the wife!)). This is my favourite layout on Youtube.

  • @Staratino Thanks Rikki yes I get carried away a bit , but when you retire got to keep the grey matter working, besides I climb up in to my loft and its my own emporium!!!

Peace except for radio and railway sounds.

  • brillant, love the sound black 5! what does "Blown" in sound chip terms?

  • @itgamer100 Thanks , it means someone else has added sound on to the decoder over the original.

  • Just Incredible!!! All of your videos ,Thanx for sharing, ???? Please Tell some of your background ??? Just curious, such a high standard with all you do, your video editing is coming along nicely

  • @yanyoulen Nothing to tell Yan I am not a trades person, just a retired x heavy goods Driver, and retired now , so time to spend on garden, Koi Carp and Model railways. Thanks for your Comment

    Dave

  • The black 5 sounds great, layout with flashing lights brings the model to life, great video.

  • @percomotion Not bad for Hornby I was delighted with it, I also like plenty of lights, trouble is my wireing is a bit hapazard.

    Chers

    Dave

  • very very good Dave this is a credit to you

  • @hawley00 Thank you Mr., Hawley, thought you had gone off Model Railways, trust you keeping well.

  • great! i find dcc sound so cool but to expensive for me right now.

  • @tpe18509 They are expensive , but once you have bought one , you will not want none sound. and now you can get one for as low as £125

  • Great sound Dave ;) The lights are very nice!

  • @trainfart Adds a bit of colour , glad you like them

  • Nice one Dave, you seem to be mastering new camera, great video

  • i haven't seen the river before... looks very good (:

  • @svinehunden Been there for a while, does give a bit of something different I hope.

  • black five sounds good. i was going to get one but ended up with the herring gull instead but after hearing yours its going back on wish list. but it will have to wait a while need to get layout back up to standard.

  • @johnnyboy349 I was well pleased with it , after sending the first one back , the crank pin came loose and the connecting rods got mangled . sent back and new one returned 2 days later.

  • Looking superb Dave. I love the terrace houses, would they be the metcalfe kits? I'm looking forward to modelling some suburban settings as we work around the layout :-)

    Tom

  • @DoctorTankEngine Cheers , yes they are the Metcalf kits Tom, they are fairly easy to work on.

  • @howarth004

Yeah my Dads done a few (he tends to build the scenic items) we are currently working on the scalescenes stuff....Highly recommended, next video I do will most likely feature them.

    Tom

  • @DoctorTankEngine Look forward to seeing it.

    Dave

  • where does the brake carriage go in the last clip?

  • @zaccee1996 If that was at 2.50 it was revesed in to the goods yard, but not recorded

  • this is the best layout i have seen on youtube you have done a fantastic job and this is coming from a 17 year old :)
