  • Hi Bhavna,

Your videos have brought me such joy and I am having so much fun trying the recipes! I also feel healthier eating these recipes.

Please forgive my ignorance, but can you tell me how you use the holy tulsi plant? Do you make a tea? I noticed you said it would help with health. Thank you very much. Also, is your plant for the green tea a lemon grass plant? Thank you again for all your generous teachings here. You're the best!!

  • @sencha22

    HI

I use in tea and when my kids get cold cough, I give them juice of tulsi with ginger, honey, lemon. It helps a lot in winter time...enjoy!

  • Nice garden Bhavna. :) Where in Florida are you?? I am in South Florida near Miami and I can't grow eggplant at all! Between the bugs, birds and animals I never get a single one. Especially the bugs, they just destroy mine. :( You're lucky your eggplants are so healthy. :) Do you go to a local nursery to get your plants or did you get them from some place special?? I'd love to have a garden like that. :) Thanks for your reply. :)

  • @Ibbygirl19

    Hi

I haven't got much success with eggplant, yet. They come like very few at a time. But I can grow other vegetables easlily despite being bugs...will try to share slowly slowly about all other vegetables...enjoy!

  • i have Tulsi Plants that are from the Hare Krishna temple, I have three very large plants and 2 smaller ones and the plants drop so many seeds that i have so much on the side is there a way to grow the plant outside in the winter I live in the atlanta GA area

  • @ajmasouras

    Hi

My tulsi stays out and it again grows every year in summer time. So just leave those seeds out and it will grow. Enjoy!

  • no, I don't know.:)))

  • @alexxx1836

    Hi

I have worked hard on it and don't use you know word anymore...if you watch recent videos, you will find them lot more improved. Enjoy!

  • @SuperVeggieDelight

    I as just kidding..:)

btw, my lil basil plants are dieing, are the leaves look like some1 was munching on them although this can't be possible, and one started to wilt and then returned to health, and now its wilting again.:(

I put some eggshell in their grown right now, will that help or make it worse?

  • @alexxx1836

    HI

You really not kidding but there is one kind of bug that does this damage to plant as if someone has munch them. I have the same problem so I bought organic bug killer on my plant leaves. Hope this might help you as well.

  • How did you grow the green tea leaves? Most of the plants seem like you got the seeds or plants from India? How do I get these locally?

  • @sonalsamson

    HI

you are right, either I got seeds from india or plants from friends, relatives. So it is hard to find locally.

  • thanks bhavana. but i m bit confused about curry leaves. do i need to buy curry leaves plant? or is there any other method. i mean here u r growing methi using methi seeds. thanks

  • @toefltan

    Hi

Curry leaves and methi is different thing. Curry leaves can be grown with plant or seeds and methi can be grown from seeds only. It is hard to find curry plant or seeds. You can try to talk with family friends and relatives if anybody has big curry plants that grows extra plant on the side as well. Hope this helps.

  • Hi bhavana, could you tell me how to grow curry leaves in winter. and how to grow plants in winter?

  • @toefltan

    Hi

During winter, it is hard to take care of plant. You end up spending more money to protect them. I usually cover them with bed sheets during frost warning. And I do same thing with curry plant. Hope this helps.

  • Hi bhavana, could you tell me how to grow curry leaves in winter.

  • hi i watched how to grow methi from ur site it really came out nice! I wanted to learn how to grow corianderif you can pls show .

  • @bijaltik

    HI

Will sure do coriander. It works exactly same as methi. All you have to do is split coriander seeds in two parts and sprinks just like methi. Follow exactly same as methi. Enjoy!

  • so you just put the leaves when the masala tea is boiling?

your 'little' garden looks quite BIG!! :-)

  • Hi

You can add in the begining as well. I happened to add while it was boiling. The more you boil leaves, more you get taste of it.

    Thank you

  • beautiful garden!

what dish do you use tulsi for?

audio was a bit too low outside - hard to hear your voice!

  • I use tulsi in my everyday indian tea, also in some indian sweet dishes such as sheera, rice pudding, and so on. Aslo give my kids everyday in their milk. My older son eat tulsi leaves as it is. Just wash and give him, he will eat 2-3 leaves just like that.
