Well it does say "follow the sun catch the sun", and it also uses Taioh (sun), Hoshi (star), and Hono (fire) a lot, and the name of the song means Solar Squadron Sun Vulcan.

Plus I saw this interview with Ichiro Mizuki where he said the idea of a lot of these songs is to be about how heroic the hero(es) is/are so it's probably meant to equate Sun Vulcan to the brightest sun burning away darkness.
