  • "Applied technology of the 70's and 80's still Rocks over artificial intellegence of today"

  • Everything was better back then , from Cars to music to TV. The only thing 2011 has over 1979 is the technology

  • wicked awesome ! Boston !!!!!!!!!! girl

  • all i want is paulina

  • The lyrics in this just rock, not other way to describe them. Peerless Cars.

  • the cars one of the all time best+

  • Back in the day, I heard that the band mixed the albums to sound good on car stereos! The drums on this song rocked in the car!!

  • Butane flicker.

  • @HandofDoom01 She's just a cycle ride

  • I love it, It has a bubblegum pop edge, but that solo gives it a nice rock edge. Me being 13 has learned alot from The Cars

  • @natetheguitarkid The CARS arent bubblegum pop

  • @SoCalScott10 Im surprised this doesnt have more thumbs up

  • @SoCalScott10

More specifically, to David Robinson's date, lol

  • I AGREE, THIS IS SUCH A GREAT ALBUM

  • its the keyboard that makes there songs so cool!

  • @fatadam16

It's the guitar riffs for me, the cars alway managed the line between guitar-oriented rock and hard rock with synth-oriented pop and new wave.

  • I love this hit too , great song, great album , great band

  • What a great album from a unique classic rock band with an erotic album picture cover and a whole great bunch of classic songs

  • Yep those were the days...'68 Chevelle, new cars Candy-O cassette ad cruising, all night. Rarely played anything else. Maybe a little Cheaptrick, Dire Straits, in a little place caled Aspen...Just kidding about the Aspen thing...

  • @taylor01235 LOL!

  • love yous

  • Great song for Ric and Greg to showcase their talents on a new tour

  • About the time The Cars called it quits , around 1986, the hair bands started their noise, then rap shortly followed and that was the end of good music, to this day.

  • @rvhawkeye : You got that right!!!

  • no need to explain the cars to anyone

  • Yes, newrealization, they along with the rap/hiphop bands did ruin music. You didn't grow during the '70s and '80s, therefore wouldn't be thinking that way. If there is talent left out there, the bands today would be writing far more of their own music. If they did, they'll have their own unique sound. There is very little or no unique sound. It is all garbage today. Only if someone out there comes out of the blue and rerevolutionizes music to bring back the good sound again.

  • I should go back 2 bed, but having too much fun listening to all these classics

  • Weren't these the years, '70s and '80s. The '60s another great decade of rock music. Music completely died around 1990 when bands like Nirvana and the rap/hip hop became mainstream...they DESTROYED music.

  • @ScorpioBornIn69 Nirvana destroyed music?????? I couldn't disagree more.

  • Brings some good ole fun times back.

  • Missiles ready for launching!

  • I use to have a T-SHIRT of this, I got at at The Cars concert back in 1979.

  • One dislike? Someone needs to have their YouTube account revoked! The sounds The Cars could come up with.

  • She looks as good today as she did 31 years ago :)

  • you have the speed up too high

  • this album was bad ass. The cars did things that know one has ever done or will.

  • Candy-O, probably one of the best Albums ever. These guys broke barriers man, I'm probably the only Cars fan from the Middle East.

  • hahaha...creepy sort of like devo. yet cute.

  • This new wave...this is a cute son/neat/poppy

  • driving all night under a full moon going to the beach blasting this music

  • Man...I wish my boobs still looked like that!!! HAHAHA

  • @dianamarble If they looked that good at one time , you should consider yourself lucky...

  • @dianamarble mee tooo

  • @dianamarble let me be the judge babe

  • Thanks for posting. WMG zapped my video of this song and the others that I posted from this LP about a year ago!

  • WMG is full of shite! YOU WERE GIVING THEM FREE ADVERTISING!

  • this is one of the top five of the cars songs

  • Their synth lines always sounded like something from 1961. It always added such a great counterpoint to their futuristic sound. Great song!

  • Great band. Don't forget who created the album cover.

  • The srtist was Vargas and the girl was his grand daughter.

  • it needs more cowbell~!

no seriously it needs more volume......

  • I was 14 when I first heard this song about a guy and a gal who got along one minute - and didn't get along the next due to their lust for kicks. This cynical tune made me feel so worldly and wise. The Cars were indeed a part of my early education.

  • Slance1, THANK YOU. You just erased 30 years and an unGodly amount of crap between me and the music. Bless your soul!

  • Thanks! Bless your soul too! ;)

  • that synth hook is so tight!

  • This song is all about that synth drum fill. Nice work from Dave Robinson. Good keyboards from Greg Hawkes as well.

  • 8 track heaven! wait for the click My first favorite band also

  • she's got a purse

    oh fuckin a damn straight

thank you so much for this

  • If anything, the Cars were all original. They are the first favorite band I ever had. Hey, so is Greg Hawkes really the long haired guy on the back cover of the Cars? I never knew for sure.

  • Nothing out there now days but a bunch of no talent screaming faggots who all sound the same. Every other snot nosed punk in the neighborhood gets a record deal.

  • great album, only for knowers of rock, not for comerciall consumers

  • Unbelievable..What a song, LOVE IT..Thanks so much for posting this Slance 1....

  • This is killin me! I forgot how fantastic this album was. So much fun. Even at 50 :)

  • I know what you mean Julieswahn. I have a year on you. As I re-connect with all these classic songs on Youtube it brings me right back where I was when I hear them. This album (cassette) wore out my awesome new car stereo speakers on my 1977 Olds Cutlass Supreme.

  • Gotta love a '77 Olds Cutlass Supreme to cruise around in with music like this. Enjoying listening to this song right now.. I'd found it almost too painful to listen so much after a while, if that makes sense. But I'm back!

  • I think I might know what you mean about "too painful" When I hear a lot of this music it transports me back to where & who I was. So young and so much ahead of me.

But hey Julie we aren't old. We're just right!! lol

  • @julieswahn the cars are awesome at any age! (i was a junior in hs when this came out) I was SO thankful the likes of the cars, the knack, devo, etc etc came along to save us from so much of the kuh-rap that was on the radio then! (and now - i'm on you tube playing this stuff more and more). Thx slance!

  • @freakngroovn Thank Freagin God for YouTube too! :)

  • @freakngroovn What crap back then? Kansas, Van Halen, Boston, Rolling Stones, Heart, The Knack,Pink Floyd "The Wall", Blue Oyster Cult, I could go on and on :)

  • @usamachinist You got of growing up to do bud!

  • @Carrots43 Blow It Out Your Ass!

  • @julieswahn : I'm with ya!!!

  • @julieswahn I am 51 and this was the THING back then!!

  • @julieswahn The best Cars album ever!

  • @Jorgesgirl071870 i can agree with that

  • @Jorgesgirl071870 better than heartbeat city?

  • @trdidion i like the Candyo album more the Heartbeat City. the producer was different. the hardcore fans have the first three albums as their favorite , this one being in spot one or two. it dont mean i dont like Heartbeat City.

  • @THECARS7879

definetly, im 13 and i get the picture. They're first 3 albums are my favorite, plus the Anthology with all there unbelievably good demos.
