Ok everyone arguing with me about only being in 5th gear watch the video more closely he was spinning and letting off the gas in 2nd and 3rd. If you count everytime he spun he would be in 8th gear. watch his arm for the shifts.
1st ended at 61mph, 2nd went to 106, 3rd went to 135, 4th went to 191, and 5th took him to a mile. the gears are tall the car has the power to get it to a fast enough speed in 5th there is no need to use 6th.
@viper306m Data logs? You don't need data logs. Listen to the it shifts 5 time sending in 6th gear. This isn't a stock transmission like Hofman's GT that ran 266mph in 5th gear, listen to it wine as he puts by.

The only shop putting people's lives in jeopardy was the Heffner Crew who stupidly parked within 150 feet of the track where cars were passing by at 350 feet per second.

No doubt, the heffner GT is fast but I find it strange how he picked up 12mph just like everybody else who ran after they moved the timing equipment.
The run in this video was timed with Tag/Heuer timing equipment on a carefully measured mile.

@tsab13hmong Ford gt can take the stress of the high hp engines. The supra looks like it destroys itself when it has a 800+hp motor under the hood. So I rather be breaking records then driving the ford gt home afterwards then putting away a car I can only use so many times before I have to buy a new one.
The fastest supra did 246mph. It was SW's Boost Logic Supra (190k invested), and it had the record for a while at the Texas Mile, until an Underground Racing TT Lamborghini broke it with a 250mph run.
The UR Lambo's and TT Ford GT's are on a new level of fast.

Yeah, the Supra is a great car, great tuner car. I love them. But there are a lot of great tuner cars, and the Supra is not the best. Price isn't a factor in figuring what 'the best' is......the best doesn't exist. Because tech always advances, and cars are getting more powerful every couple of years.
You tube has had too much impact on opinions. People need to get out more at go to the Texas Mile and Miami mile and see it for themselves. Then they will have a better grasp.
@firehawkowner Suspension is probably close to stock, as the GT hits 212 stock, and it looks like they may have taped the grill and around the gaps a little, but that's it.
the requirements for a world speed record is 2 runs ,1 in each direction within 1 hour,this car does not do it...as for it being stated as a production car,it is not,all it is,is a dam fucking fast car no doubt about that.......before anyone bleats....1/4 mile drag records have to be within 1% of the record run at the same meet...as they cant run both ways
@OHNGAI You're thinking of a Top Speed run period. Normally those are over 3-5 miles. This is a standing mile from a dead stop. All that matters as far as I know is the trap speed.
@B0SSNINE you are correct ie i mile trap speed ...as for production car claim pure bulls#@t...ford gt's do not produce 1400hp period!....your supra claim...a standard un-restricted supra top speed is 267kph[166mph] with 280hp add another 270 hp the cars should be closer than you think...now add 1120hp to a standard supra that does 166mph...adding over 1000hp will give more than 100mph extra top speed...then again it can be said the same for any car
bbottom end, this tuner GT is like all other tuners, struggling for grip. 0-60mph in 3.8s vs 2.45s ? 0-100mph in 7s (vs 5.5s) 0-125mph in 10s (vs 7.3s) .Its only after 150mph (11 vs 10.5s) this car really starts to pull on a veyron.
0-186mph in 14.5s (vs 16.7s),0-200mph 16s (vs 22.4s), 0-250mph in 22s (vs 52s).
mile in 23.5s (253mph) vs 26.5s (204mph veyron).
btw, because of its poor lowend accel, the ssc aero beats it to the mile (22s @ 225mph) even tho it does 250mph in 39s (2 miles).
the bugatti super sport has 1200hp and a 427kph top speed......the mclaren f1 had 627hp and a top speed of 390kph.....573hp difference for ony 37kph....add the extra 573hp to see the real speed of the f1 with the same power...even this ford gt wouldnt stand a chance....yes i dont think any f1 owner will do it so its only a dream
@OHNGAI the F1 with 1200 HP would not beat this GT... This cars actual top speed is probably well over 300MPH.. you have to remember this car is running a standing mile.. it takes the veyron and the mclaren well over 3 times the distance to reach 390 and 430..

@OHNGAI Top speed and acceleration all come down to HP in the mile. Gearing doesn't mean shit if you dont have the power to put to the road. I could gear my civic any way i like but it's still gonna be slow as fuck. It takes the F1 just about 2 miles to hit 240. As it makes the first half mile wayyy wayy quicker than the GT, but then slows down dramatically in accel.
If the F1 had the same HP as this GT, the GT would lose hands down..
@kkage2 wrong acceleration comes down to torque ,top speed is hp....if the car is not correctly geared for the intended use it dont matter how much power you make.....geared for 300mph with only 200hp....aint gona happen...likewise1000hp geared for 100mph...waiste of time....torque,gearing ,horse power all rellivant to top speed and acceleration not just horse power....ask any DRAG RACER as thats all they doing here for 1 mile
the f1 with 1200hp theoretically will go to 323mph, so yeah, nothing beats the f1 with the same amount of hp, its the most aerodynamic, streamlined super car there is.
it will beat in in terms of topspeed, but in acceleration, perhalps no.
How many HP does this GT have anyway, id estimate over 1500hp, from the 220+mph acceleration being comparable to the 120+mph acceleration of a veyron: at 220mph, you lose 600+hp from drag, + veyron has 900hp more after 120mph drag = 1500hp.

@AmericanMuscleV8 I have seen more veyrons her in L.A. than Ford gt's. I can tell there's nothing special in a Veyron, just way too much unnecesary luxury, and a heavyweigth pig like body. @ethownzbh Easy, almost every British or European car reviewer/ youtube commenter says the SSC is a shitty lambo knockoff kit-car. So I can have an opinion and say that a car with two motors, basically, that are twin turbocharged V8's, which only produce 500.5 HP each is not very amazing. And by the way, it doesn't handle quite how most believe. Look up the stats for each, even the Veyron GT, and compare to the 2008 or even 2010 SSC, let alone the "next gen" and the numbers dont lie.
@04COMach1 well theres more to it than just power output, you have to factor in issues like the chassis sustainability, other car components that can be effected by high power and speed, and the issue of making it not only a comfortable but road legal car. and how can you determine how it handles, i think that the lotus elise handles well from other peoples accounts but ive never driven one so i can only assume it handles well. have you driven a veyron?

And If I can own a Supercar that I dont have to ship around everywhere and pay ridiculous German manufacturing fees, then I would choose the American supercar.

@04COMach1 I LOVE the SSC. I'm a huge fan of what they've done with the budget they have. But as a piece of engineering, the Veyron is a marvel. That motor will last a long while (I'd bet good money on it). The car is supremely stable even past 200 mph. They're almost apples and oranges in everything but performance. That's how the car is amazing- the SS has roughly the same power as the SSC, yet has a higher top speed with 1000 lbs more weight.

Look, the SS does good but, the SSC slaloms faster, pulls more g's on the skid pad, matches it in the 1/4, is cheaper, has more HP and TQ, is more aerodynamic, weighs less, and the motor makes much better use of of its displacement. The SSC is bred to be the worlds fastest car, the SS is a luxury car with a big motor. The SS is way over engineered and that is my opinion! SSC on Ehra lessien wins any day. Period.
Dunno if I'd say absolute shit, but for the money, you could have cars just as fast or faster, and I say carS, because you can buy 2 SSC Ultimate Aeros for the price of one Veyron xD or the AMR Nissan GTR Alpha9, not good for 250+mph, but just as quick in the 1/4 and such, most people will never drive more than 150mph and survive anyway lol
@SICKJ0KER Having 7 gears won't make you run a higher top speed, you can easily gear 5 gears to the same final drive as 7th gear. Most cars only run 5 out of 6 to their top speed anyway. Drag cars accelerate like that because they are running on a sticky strip, not a cold run way, nor are they running on street tires, nor do they have to hold together though a mile. You run Larry Larson's car over 1/4 mile the motor, tranny, tires, and everything else would blow.

@SICKJ0KER well u beat at that but the arguement still lives with that, that drag car is built for that length of the track, you put that on a mile track and its not going to go much faster due to the gearing. If that car goes at that speed and keeps accelerating, it will become unstable because of its aerodynamics.

Yeah, the Supra is a great car, great tuner car. I love them. But there are a lot of great tuner cars, and the Supra is not the best. Price isn't a factor in figuring what 'the best' is......the best doesn't exist. Because tech always advances, and cars are getting more powerful every couple of years.
You tube has had too much impact on opinions. People need to get out more at go to the Texas Mile and Miami mile and see it for themselves. Then they will have a better grasp.

the requirements for a world speed record is 2 runs ,1 in each direction within 1 hour,this car does not do it...as for it being stated as a production car,it is not,all it is,is a dam fucking fast car no doubt about that.......before anyone bleats....1/4 mile drag records have to be within 1% of the record run at the same meet...as they cant run both ways

bbottom end, this tuner GT is like all other tuners, struggling for grip. 0-60mph in 3.8s vs 2.45s ? 0-100mph in 7s (vs 5.5s) 0-125mph in 10s (vs 7.3s) .Its only after 150mph (11 vs 10.5s) this car really starts to pull on a veyron.
0-186mph in 14.5s (vs 16.7s),0-200mph 16s (vs 22.4s), 0-250mph in 22s (vs 52s).
mile in 23.5s (253mph) vs 26.5s (204mph veyron).
btw, because of its poor lowend accel, the ssc aero beats it to the mile (22s @ 225mph) even tho it does 250mph in 39s (2 miles).

the bugatti super sport has 1200hp and a 427kph top speed......the mclaren f1 had 627hp and a top speed of 390kph.....573hp difference for ony 37kph....add the extra 573hp to see the real speed of the f1 with the same power...even this ford gt wouldnt stand a chance....yes i dont think any f1 owner will do it so its only a dream

@OHNGAI Top speed and acceleration all come down to HP in the mile. Gearing doesn't mean shit if you dont have the power to put to the road. I could gear my civic any way i like but it's still gonna be slow as fuck. It takes the F1 just about 2 miles to hit 240. As it makes the first half mile wayyy wayy quicker than the GT, but then slows down dramatically in accel.
If the F1 had the same HP as this GT, the GT would lose hands down..

@kkage2 wrong acceleration comes down to torque ,top speed is hp....if the car is not correctly geared for the intended use it dont matter how much power you make.....geared for 300mph with only 200hp....aint gona happen...likewise1000hp geared for 100mph...waiste of time....torque,gearing ,horse power all rellivant to top speed and acceleration not just horse power....ask any DRAG RACER as thats all they doing here for 1 mile

How many HP does this GT have anyway, id estimate over 1500hp, from the 220+mph acceleration being comparable to the 120+mph acceleration of a veyron: at 220mph, you lose 600+hp from drag, + veyron has 900hp more after 120mph drag = 1500hp.

I've seen just once a GT driving by the opposite lane in Huntington beach, and man! that was a real supercar, made for what is meant to be.

Power and aerodynamics mean absolutely NOTHING without the right GEARING.
The number of gears does NOT affect top speed, but WILL affect acceleration (to top speed).
You can only space out gear ratios so much before they start to negatively affect performance. adding 1(or 2) mores gears solves that problem.

So I can have an opinion and say that a car with two motors, basically, that are twin turbocharged V8's, which only produce 500.5 HP each is not very amazing. And by the way, it doesn't handle quite how most believe. Look up the stats for each, even the Veyron GT, and compare to the 2008 or even 2010 SSC, let alone the "next gen" and the numbers dont lie.

@04COMach1 well theres more to it than just power output, you have to factor in issues like the chassis sustainability, other car components that can be effected by high power and speed, and the issue of making it not only a comfortable but road legal car. and how can you determine how it handles, i think that the lotus elise handles well from other peoples accounts but ive never driven one so i can only assume it handles well. have you driven a veyron?

Space Frame... And its body design holds a record for lowest surface to mass ratio. Good enough? It is road legal, And I can determine how it handles by doing some basic re-search. It Slaloms 73.1 mph, better than a Ferrari Enzo and Lotus Exige SC, which slaloms 72.8 mph according to Edmomds. Whish I could post links. First, It is plenty fast for me, and I would be able to afford things like insurance, gas, etc. The only way to service your Bugatti is to ship it back to your manufacturer and pay out the ass for an oil change. I understand that however, it is plenty fast and would probably be more livable in day to day life blending in with the rest of the ponies. But think about it, if you had the income to afford a Veyron do you think you'd be worried about gas? Shipping it anywhere? Oil? The GT500 is a sexy ass car no doubt, I love them. But they Veyron is like the Viper, so ugly its beautiful.

@iPROFITDON BETNCORS made a remark about me saying the Bugatti's HP per engine was pathetic and compared one GT500 engine to half of a Bugatti engine. Since half a Bugatti engine makes 500.5 HP, the closest GT500 to that HP rating was the 2007-08 GT500, So that is why I keep saying 2007. No doubt the 2010-11 is better. And If I can own a Supercar that I dont have to ship around everywhere and pay ridiculous German manufacturing fees, then I would choose the American supercar.

@04COMach1 I LOVE the SSC. I'm a huge fan of what they've done with the budget they have. But as a piece of engineering, the Veyron is a marvel. That motor will last a long while (I'd bet good money on it). The car is supremely stable even past 200 mph. They're almost apples and oranges in everything but performance. That's how the car is amazing- the SS has roughly the same power as the SSC, yet has a higher top speed with 1000 lbs more weight.

Look, the SS does good but, the SSC slaloms faster, pulls more g's on the skid pad, matches it in the 1/4, is cheaper, has more HP and TQ, is more aerodynamic, weighs less, and the motor makes much better use of of its displacement. The SSC is bred to be the worlds fastest car, the SS is a luxury car with a big motor. The SS is way over engineered and that is my opinion! SSC on Ehra lessien wins any day. Period.

@SICKJ0KER Having 7 gears won't make you run a higher top speed, you can easily gear 5 gears to the same final drive as 7th gear. Most cars only run 5 out of 6 to their top speed anyway. Drag cars accelerate like that because they are running on a sticky strip, not a cold run way, nor are they running on street tires, nor do they have to hold together though a mile. You run Larry Larson's car over 1/4 mile the motor, tranny, tires, and everything else would blow.

If that car goes at that speed and keeps accelerating, it will become unstable because of its aerodynamics.
