  • This is BS, People get killed in tragic ways all the time. I mean people shoot schools and public buildings. This is only high profile because of the people involved. I mean people have attacked political figures and celebrities before it happens that is why they usually have security. How often does it happen. We need to stop these fallacies of emotional appeal. Its used all the time on the Media. It is used to make people not think logically. How often does this happen, how often??????

  • lack of civility is not the cause, it is a symptom. If we look at a documentary of life back in the depression of 1930s we see people who had nothing but still managed to maintain their composure, their spirit, their pride. Today people appear to be walking talking zombies. Depressed, no spirit, no sparkle in the eyes, no pride nothing. Just empty....why?

  • Its hard to be "civil" when you are unemployed and you are out of options.

  • @darksideofthenation I'm barely employed and running out of options too, but I've managed to avoid threatening people.

  • @BoredomCorner

Thats good, most people do. However, mentally ill people are more easily triggered by their social circumstances.

  • Man, He is very genuine about this. It's very commendable. Other news casters couldn't care less.

  • Had more mixed feelings about this than most of what I see from TRNN, not only because of the mispronunciation of the names of the principals days after a major news story broke. (C'mon, Paul!) Not mentioned was that all the civility boosters shown were Dems, using "civility" as their comparative advantage over Repugs, who have made incivility their brand. Yes, this papers over deeper divisions in society & is maddening to those of us who want Dems & the corporate media to simply call BS.

  • What slave class has ever escaped the beatings of slave masters by Civility ? And can anyone please explain that French Revolution thing to me please?

  • The Sheriff Of Nottingham says we need civility by are surf class. Is that the same civility that robs and enslaves everyone in the planet in the name of " Freedom and Democracy " for the elite class?

  • @TestTubeWorld at last! someone else who gets it

  • Very well said Paul.

  • What has happened to America ? A nation founded on slavery and genocide, grew rich by war. We are not in trouble. All is marching as planned. JP Morgan who financed the wars against our original population, with a fortune made from the carnage in Crimea, is still raking the profits today_ 16 billion in 2010. The marriage of bankers, soldiers and politicians created Manifest Destiny, taking us all the way to Iraq. One party of $ for $ by $. Civility ? T.V. Off

  • @cheouno

    briliant comment

  • Is that 9-year old wearing lipstick? May they all RIP. I am so glad I took the time to view this excellent video. Uprated, favorited. Based on the behavior of a bunch of people in AZ I dealt with in 2010, civility is way too much to ask for. The Bush family is moving to S. America? The rats leave the sinking ship? Greetings from France, where at least I get healthcare. Couldn't get it in the USA!

  • This needs to be said. No politician has the courage to really address the root causes of the issues raised. No TV network has the courage to broadcast an extended series on the failings of the American system (poverty, inequality, the top 2% owning more wealth than the bottom 98%). If this became the national conversation, people might demand change.

  • rhetoric.... rhetoric... and then there's rhetoric rhetoric...

Sometimes, the MSM just latches onto a topic (or in this case, a WORD) that drives me to the state of quasi-smurfing my smurf... SMURF IT!!!

I SMURF ye'all to SMURF... smurfin smurf smurfer !!!

  • Great commentary...but I only see these problems getting worse. People feel powerless because they have a corporate controlled government that operates behind closed doors with whatever operatives are the highest bidder. I don't think most people have the attention span to even watch this video...let alone understand it.

The quote about people clinging to "guns and religion" rings true.

  • The rich rule they bribe the politicians to take their side and protect them and the rich continue to gain from the backs of the lower classes causing the deaths of millions while the people go along with it. We do not know how to think for themselves. Fuck civilization I want peace and anarchy, were the local community deals with its own problems as a whole. Government is slavery, KILL THE ONES IN POWER THAT DESERV IT “CLASS WAR”.

  • I don't remember people being assessed as mentally ill as they drug people behind their trucks, or lynched people, or burned crosses, or beat people, when is hate crime a mental disorder?

  • lol automatic weapon. it was a pistol. get your facts straight k. the kid's a psycho and the shooting is not political, go watch the interview with his friend. blaming the shooting on the far right is like blaming clinton for the action of McVeigh.

  • We will have civil discourse when we have 5% unemployment and universal health care, no war in Afghanistan or Iraq, and elected officials that represent the other 98% of Americans, until then there will be a war of words with occasional violence to punctuate people's distress and disenfranchisement.

  • In the latest Palin´s 8 minute video, she said that the ideas, etc are a light to the world. I don´t think so because most Europeans, even among my friends, now view the U.S in a very negative light just because of the last couple of decades of political strong arm tactics...in the country and outside the country.

  • personally i think california needs to secede from the union. we will be able to take care of our own. away from these racist freaks.

  • it's easy to manipulate the weak minded.

  • @bbburton take your ignorant bullshit elsewhere

  • @bbburton reading a comment by burton, what a waste of time.

  • What did ya learn at school today, Johnny?

    "Compete, destroy, assimilate!"

    Atta boy!

  • Thank you for the commentary TRNN. While what happened in AZ is a tragedy & a life is precious, how can it be more precious than the woman that took her life because the banks repossessed her home? Or how can these lives be more precious than those that had bombs fall on them because of an illegal war?

Banks stole from people & made their lives miserable. Politicians protect them & apply austerity to the innocent to pay for the crimes of the criminals. Civility? Ok, but where is justice?

  • "One gets what one rewards"

    ~~cc

  • ZEITGEIST NOW!!

  • Paul Jay is right.

  • the media always bombards us with buzz words. the word of the day: civility

  • GET STEFFAN MOLYNEAUX ON YOUR SHOW ASAP

  • All the people killed were Jewish. Jared Laughner is Jewish and Gabrielle Giffords is too and they attended the same synague. Sheriff Kuplnik is Jewish and new Laughner was wacko. It is a conspiracy of Jeudism. Jew on Jew violence is not welcome in Arizona.

  • @MrStephenRBrown "In the end this is about making money."

replace 'money' with 'power' and i agree 100%. the agenda of the elites it to gain and hold power over the people, not gain money (consider that their privately run Fed makes money out nothing and decreases its value daily). the ends is power, money is just one of the means to that ends

  • Why play games calling it an automatic weapon when it was a pistol...

    Be real.

  • @IloveJesusYesId0 semi automatic pistol no?

  • Hooray for Star Trek references!

  • ...them from their exploitation but it will also draw attention to them so they can maintain their monopoly on discourse and effectively halt any debate which goes far enough to the left to propose cutting into their profits and forcing them to deal with the "real world" of exploitation that they have helped elites to foist onto the working class.

  • I have a criticism of this video. I actually think the liberal denunciations of inflammatory rhetoric are useful and that rhetoric is a large part of this particular issue. However, my problem is that no one is tying the rhetoric to anything in particular. There is a strong class component to it in that people like Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin want people who are demoralized and desperate and willing to listen to anything, however nonsensical, because such incitements will not only distract...

  • I was surprised and disappointed at the media finger-pointing around the shooting to be honest. I thought I was pretty jaded when it came to US media crassness, but that woman's blood had not dried on the pavement before people like Olbermann were feigning their righteous indignation to make cheap political points for the home team. He discredits liberalism, which I suspect is the reason NBC Universal Inc gives him a platform.

  • We need to solve our problems by arriving to decisions using the scientific method, not by democratic process. We need to shatter any and all artificial barriers that withhold us from finding solutions and developing ways to improve society globally. I would suggest looking up the Zeitgeist Movement if you are serious about finding solutions to the problems we face today.

  • humm, not very mainstream of you? I'm not sure I wanna fit someone else's mould. I like mine. real news!

  • @HuxleyWasRight I would hold her responsible for her video putting the congresswoman in crosshairs though.

  • well said paul jay

  • "civility" is just another way of calling it even, one side is generally civil and one side has run into right wing crazy land taking about "long form birth certificates", "Death Panels" etc.

The differences could not be more stark yet as always the media has a fetish for "calling it even" Keith Olbermann, a MSNBC commentator, is called "self-righteous" to balance out the fact that elected Republicans have openly called for armed revolution.

GOP have no civility whatsoever, "You Lie!" Wilson

  • I do think it is extremely unfair to single out the tea part movement, however tangled and complex that fabric is and however vaguely one might discuss it. Well before these recent developments, the false two party system had each whipped their bases into increasing divisive hateful fury over decades - it is nothing new. I would suggest that the new ingredient is the corporate-government sham has been exposed while they shamelessly destroy every good thing that might be left in this country.

  • I like the way Paul Jay looks the public in the eye, even if it is through the camera.

Yesterday I saw a senator (think it was Olberman) doïng the same.

If the mad war in Afghanistan and the economic depression did anything good it is that we the people are again taken into consideration and political rhetoric fades to make place for serious arguments.

Change ! Yes we can ! Now !

  • so todays new word is civility boys and girls can you spell civility c-i-v-i-l-i-t-y

sad what happened and i do feel sory for all involved but the news and pundits seem to thrive on the fear to get market share and we follow these stories with out thinking

  • This call for 'civility' is nothing but right wingers telling people on the Left to STFU and never think to criticize them for anything while they continue on their campaign of hatred & division in order to keep us non-millionaires as divided as possible.

This so-called 'civility' is exemplified by Keith Olbermann pulling his "Worst Persons in the World" segment as meanwhile Rush Limbaugh bloviates that the shooter is smiling because he knows the Democrats are on his side.

  • Frankly, I'm quite surprised that although there is a lack of civility, and there is NO EVIDENCE to support a direct link of this to Loughner's act ... you still chose to report on this. If anything it should have been a separate comment separate from reporting on Loughner. I'm disappointed. The ONLY person who has done I must point out is Jon Stewart. IMO that the sherriff was completely off base in even mentioning right wing radio (as you are saying, the lack of civility) as the impetus.

  • I hate lefties when they force me to defend Sarah Palin!! :- /

  • @HuxleyWasRight Give me one good reason why anyone would defend Sarah Palin ?

  • @HelmetBlissta because she bares no responsibility for what that crazed idiot did, I dislike Palin as much as anyone, she's a nothing but a neo-con puppet, and her response to the lefts accusations make her a total hypocrite, because she does, contrary to what she says, believe in collective punishment, as her support for Israel and the neo-conservative foreign policy prove, BUT, she cannot be held responsible for another individuals actions, blaming Palin for this shooting is ludicrous.

  • Well said Paul. Is anyone else incensed at the idea that politicians are telling us we need to be civil?

  • The left appears to be in total meltdown over this shooting, and as usual, the truth is nowhere to be seen, as is becoming the norm these days, the left takes an incident like this and tries to fit it into their narrative to shape perceptions.

anyone who takes a step back and looks at it objectively can see that Jared Loughner was a deranged person, probably with a split personality, none of his writings give a real clue as to his political leanings, he's all over the place.

  • Liberals always want to "make nice" while conservatives want to crack skulls. This makes them ideal partners in perpetuating this criminal economic and political system as they have shown again and again. Revolution is the only way out.

  • The democrats are not very smart at politics, wikileaks was their teaparty, granted they don't see eye to eye they have a strong populous supporting, one centered in morality, which is kind of rare in politics nowadays.

  • I said it before: the US must stop living as an empire otherwise the oppression of the government while drive its own citizens in a civil war. The American way of life is about giving all you have for oppression, the oppression of other nations and the oppression of the citizens of this nation as well. In any way, it is the end of the empire. A new nation has to emerge from the coming revolution. I have lots of hope. Don't fall in the hate trap.

  • Thank you, Paul.

  • The Republicans seek to discredit, demoralize and degrade those with different views.

  • @nilbud It is not right for you to disrespect God's Prophets with your words. I pray that God guides you to the straight path and you are sad about what you said and repent. I don't understand what kind of heart and mind those words come from. This is the problem in America. No respect for anyone.

  • @FiyaFive NEWS FLASH, god(s) don't exist. religion is just another way of scaring the masses into obedience. we are alone, and no amount of prayer and sacrifice is going to help us. look around and you can see that all of the prayers over ~2 thousand years have done nothing. no more than human sacrifices by the Aztecs helped to make their crops grow. it's time to stop looking to the sky and wishing upon a star and start looking around at each other and actually DO something to change things.

  • The truth!

  • Tell about civility to all of those big businesses, corporations that have raped and continue to rape this earth for profits i.e. worthless papers that people wrongly refer to them as money. Greed of very few is what brings this earth to its knees. I have just watched a film were the CEO earned millions whilst making thousand unemployed. So, once again greed and luck of empathy (one intra-personal traits of psychopathy) will destroy this planet if this does not stop. How about fairness instead?

  • I hope that we never stop exposing government corruption because of the fear of upsetting some psycho. What happened was a shame but we cannot allow it to quiet any voice, even if that voice is one we hate to hear.

  • Thank you Paul Jay. Keep up the good work.

  • I read/hear many comments about the issues all the time but see very few on the solutions which makes me believe that this world is addicted to issues and has no real motivation to solving any of them. I propose that we teach children not to hate to combat the seemingly senseless violence that accord in Arizona and in many states throughout American history.

  • Civility is not inconstant with open debate, but we must not be afraid to 'stir the pot' to 'upset the apple cart'. There is no broadcast media willing to point out that the King has no clothes. They are all too afraid to offend a potential audience or advertiser, they only report what is politically correct, and financially viable. We need a source of truth that is willing to speak honestly even when the truth is ugly, painful, and costs the rich economy.

  • The problem with America is negative history is repeating itself. It seems that America has not learned from its past. What some Americans never understood or have forgotten, this country has always been a violent country since the slaughter of Native Americans. Some people may say America WAS a great country, but they ignored the fact that other group of people were beaten, enslaved, bombed, discriminated, burn to death, and such. If this madness continues, Americans will never see the light.

  • @MrStephenRBrown

    Thank you sir excellent response!

  • could be the result of the MKULTRA mind control?

  • Jay your words ring truth.

    Thank you

Web Masters of Fear, well said.

  • The worst part about this is the group that is without a doubt the most responsible for tearing the country apart (POLITICIANS) are now telling all of us that its all of us just being irrational and we need to "come together" while they do everything they can think of to tear us apart. If Washington wants to figure out why America is so divided, they simply need to look in the mirror...

  • Internet paranoia machine? Maybe you should look into Brzezinski's idea's on this "paranoia" machine. The web has the elites sh*tting their pants. I'll take some dead judge over regulation of the internet anyday, man.

But still, may all the dead rest easy.

  • @MrStephenRBrown Common sense tells one there is a God. All of these intricate systems (Biological, Geographical, Astronomy, etc.) did not come together by chance. There is nothing selfish about belief in God. God actually wants nothing but good for us, while the leaders don't care. So any system they come up with will not benefit us and they CANNOT guide us to anything but failure. So we need to follow God's plan for us, which will is always for the collective and ultimate good.

  • @FiyaFive Common sense... So saying you know something exists just because you say it does and cannot provide any tangible evidence of it of any kind is common sense.. Yeah. Your not the perfect example of why people are so willfully ignorant in this country, because saying you believe in ghosts is not one bit different than saying you believe in GOD. It isn't selfish to believe in GOD, it's pathetic. Instead of doing your own thinking, you let the church do it for you.

  • @bigge525 Nothing can exist, without having been CREATED by something else. I work in Engineering, taken plenty of Physics classes, and I have NEVER seen a system come into existence without being caused to. Now, let's take a look at our bodies. Perfectly designed. Heart is set up to beat on its own, lungs functioning on their own, cells functions automatically, etc. Let's look at the make up of particles and atoms. Protons, nuetrons, etc. You think this is not designed? Use common sense.

  • @FiyaFive who created your god ?

  • @bigge525 Let's also take a look at the orbit of the planets, moons, and sun, set perfectly in order and distances. And more over, there is not another planet like ours. Bottom line, God told us He created us, put us on the earth to live the way HE wants us to live, to be judged later after death. When man turns away from God, he goes astray and all kinds of evil starts to manifest. That is where we are today. Repent, return to God, ask God to guide you back to Him.

  • @FiyaFive Also I must tell you, thousands of human beings follow the laws of God all over the world, and these human beings tend to be the most moral, trustworthy, and peaceful individuals. It is those who throw away the laws of God and follow their own path who lead to oppressing other, greed, stealing, aggressions, etc. all in the name of getting their share of this world. They also USE religion to achieve these aims. However, the religions do not call for this evil behaviour.

  • @FiyaFive

There is not another planet like ours because we haven't found it yet. We could be the first human beings in the universe we had to start somewhere or we could be one of many. If there are others more advanced than us they wouldn't want anything to with our civility.

Your god is great and the only one, nothing we haven't been told many times. But your god isn't going to fix the problems on this planet we have to.

    Peace

  • @CosmosPrivateer We can only fix the problems with God's laws. We obviously can't fix them by our own reasoning or we would not be having these problems.

  • @FiyaFive "The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully." Richard Dawkins in his book God is Not Great.

  • @Hierophant2 I am very sorry that you are opposed and have such emnity toward the One who created you. I pray that God, guides you back to him and heals your heart. It is from the great Mercy of your Lord that he allows you to insult him and does not immediately punish you. Why? Because he is forgiving and merciful. The door of respentance is open until even your last breath. That is what God is waiting for from us. Then He will forgive.

  • @FiyaFive

Well gods law has been around a long time and we still have the problems.

    What now???

  • @CosmosPrivateer

Man needs to follow those laws. That is the only way out. There is no other way. Repent, turn to God, ask for guidance, and He will forgive, give you a good life in this world and paradise in the next. This is not a fantasy, this is the reality. Mankind is not following the laws of God. Therefore the world is messed up. A very small number of people are following the laws of God, but these people are modest, you don't see them on TV, you don't see them seeking power...

  • @CosmosPrivateer I used to have problems in my life that I could not understand or overcome. However, once I read the words of God, listened to the righteous and knowledgeable people who submitted themselves to God, and acted on those words, things changed dramatically for me. My parents, friends, etc. have experienced this same transformation from a life full or problems to a life full of stability, but only AFTER we submitted to God's command. I have no reason to lie.

  • @FiyaFive

I have lots of religious books. Bibles, Quran, Dead Sea Scrolls, Sacred Mushroom and The Cross but the one I found most interesting is Hamlets Mill.

    Try it.

I hope your submission works out for you it's not for free beings.

I also have no reason to lie.

Peace and try to lead yourself it works.

  • @CosmosPrivateer The Quran is the word of God and the only book you have that is 100% the truth with no contradictions or mistakes. If you have any questions about it, I will be happy to address them.

  • @FiyaFive Monotheistic religion is false.

It is out of harmony with the way of the world.

Hindu, Paganism, Buddhism, and the Tao hold truth. Islam, Christianity, and Judaism do not.

  • @IndigoVagrant So having many rulers and Gods is better than one Supreme God? If there were multiple Gods, they would fight each other for power and the universe would be in chaos. As we can see with the Democrats and Republicans, having multiple rulers is not stability. The reason why there is so much harmony with nature, universe, science, etc. is because there is one Creator and everything bows to his will. Animals, plants, wind, planets, stars, etc. We do as well willingly or unwillingly.

  • @FiyaFive Hindu is more pantheistic, Buddhism doesn't talk much about God, and Tao is more about the nature of reality, consciousness, and energy.

There is no need for rulers, only rules. Hindu's don't take their beliefs literally. They believe the Gods are metaphysical archetypes of humanity, not actual beings that exist. The Creator has no will, except unconditional love.

  • @FiyaFive "So we need to follow God's plan for us, which will is always for the collective and ultimate good."

Well, in the U.S., the majority of people who "follow God's plan" are social conservatives who tend to vote for Republicans. Single Payer Healthcare is a system designed for the "collective good" so it seems very odd that these followers of Yahweh and his son vote against such a system. It seems the "God's plan" is designed more for the wealthy than for the collective good.

  • @1140Cecile This is incorrect. There are Jews, Christians, and Muslims that all have scriptures from God. The themes and laws of those scriptures are basically all the same, with major differences in the understanding of who God is. All of those major religions have hypocrites who CLAIM to believe and follow, but act counter to those beliefs. This has nothing to do with conservative republicans. This has to do with following the laws of God. If man follows the laws of God life will be better.

  • @FiyaFive "If man follows the laws of God life will be better."

For who? Certainly not for a homosexual person who Yahweh says should be stoned to death. Certainly not for anyone held in slavery. Yahweh says that a slave's owner can do whatever they want to a slave, short of murdering them.

  • @1140Cecile God wants good for the whole of society, no just a select few. None of the noble Prophets of God, nor any of the humble, modest, peaceful, and obedient servants of God were ever known to have intimate relations with a person from the same sex. God created us to marry the opposite sex and procreate. Does that mean homosexuals are inherently evil? No. It means that God does not want us to engage in homosexuality because it is ultimately not good for us. God knows best what is good.

  • @FiyaFive "God wants good for the whole of society, no just a select few." and "God knows best what is good."

Are slaves part of the "whole of society" or outside of it? If they're outside of it then I could see what you're saying. But if they're inside of society then it doesn't seem good or moral to be able to beat your slave to within an inch of his life just because Yahweh says it's okay. Sanctioning slavery at all tells me that your god is a vile and immoral character.

  • @1140Cecile In my religious teachings, the aim regarding slavery was to abolish it. I am pretty sure it's the same for others as well. Deep down inside, all humans know slavery is not good. However, it exists in humanity. Even Prophet Joseph was enslaved for a time in Egypt and he was a Prophet. Also, in my religion our Prophet told those who had slaves to treat them well like family and free slaves constantly. Even we are supposed to treat PRISONERS good and not torture them.

  • @FiyaFive "In my religious teachings, the aim regarding slavery was to abolish it."

Well then, I'm glad that your religious teachings decided to abandon the laws of Yahweh after discovering that "deep down inside" you knew that slavery was wrong and that, therefore, Yahweh was wrong to sanction slavery. Also, your religion that says slaves should be treated "like family" is certainly better than Yahweh's instructions to treat them anyway you want, short of murdering them.

  • @1140Cecile By the way, God also does not want heterosexuals to engage in sex outside of marriage as well. We see clearly where that has led in our society. HIV, sexually transmitted diseases, single mothers, illigitimate children, and child support or jail. So, the wisdom of God is clear.

  • @1140Cecile , The god of Abraham is a good rodel model for teaching slavery, homo-phobia, war, kidnapping, rape, blind obediance, barbarism, and anti-reason.

  • It´s difficult to find CIVILITY now these days after BUSH government planed 9-11.

  • The United States is a shell of what it once was. A shell eaten out by greed (all classes of society), arrogance, complacency and lost morals. Also throw in:

    - Political Corruption

    - Constant Wars and Heavy Military Spending

    - Failing Economy

    - Unemployment of the Working Classes

    - Decline in Ethics and Values

    - Constant infighting

So what is our solution to the above? Extend the debt ceiling and provide more entitlements to the lazy. Like it or not, we need to be on our knees.

  • Billionaires: fight for one or the other

    Soros vs. Koch's

    Which one are you with?

  • well put Jay, glad to see you going after this issue.

next shine a light on the fact that it is one party of two colors bought and paid for... the very talking heads in Washington and on the TV are as much a part of the problem as the very "owners" they protect, hide and support.

    there are really 3 Americas,

the slaves (everyone else, who have not whored themselves out as a protector)

the protectors (Washington, the media, the police)

and these so called elite owners.

  • thanks for changing the real news song..

  • @sireel Phew! You're right! I tend to skip to when Paul Jay's head appears so I don't have to hear it...It's really bearable now! :)

  • Comment removed

  • It's interesting how we're all noticing the same problems but our solutions are totally contrary to each other. I really think the best thing is a civil break up of America. That way if we have 10 regions trying to find the right way to go (both in general and specific for their region) there's a better chance that somebody will do the right thing and the other sections will feel pressured to follow suit. And if they don't then they will only have themselves to be responsible.

  • Gee, Paul, give you a little bit of time and you can come up with reasonable, intelligent, and pertinent questions. You're totally on game about there being at least two Americas. I'm not one to see civility as a mask, but to the ruling elite it may well be a curtain behind which for them to perpetrate their exploitation. Keep up the insightful analysis!

  • Please don't call a semi automatic pistol an automatic weapon. The general public is confused enough over guns.

  • @Smarterthanyouarable As soon as you stop trying to act like it isn't ridiculous that the average hunter or homeowner protecting their house needs a clip with 31 rounds in it, and that Arizona's gun laws aren't a joke.

  • @bigge525 As soon as you explain WTF your comment had to do with mine.

  • @Smarterthanyouarable Whats to be confused about? They fucking suck.

  • @fatmaggi They guns? They who post irrelevant comments? You have 500 characters to make a point.

  • @Smarterthanyouarable You know I made a point, otherwise you wouldn't have responded. After all, you're more intelligent than that. Right?

  • @fatmaggi I have lots of free time. Tell me what it is you want from me and I will oblige.

  • The beginning of this video remind me of this article I read in the Exiled by Yasha Levine.

Freemarket Failures: Investors Prefer Doing Business With Hugo Chavez Over Billionaire Koch Brothers

  • Americans have no clear, true, guidance in life. It's everyone for themselves. The leaders are the same and do not care about the interest of the people of America, just selfishness, elitism, greed, oppression, etc. That is why conspiracies, divisions, right/left, and continuous random mass killings exist. A society that has no direction or code of values cannot last and inevitably is destroyed. Returning to God and His laws is the only solution. Sadly Americans just laugh at the idea of God.

  • @FiyaFive Wow very well said. I agree with all that you say. Thank you!

  • @FiyaFive your god isn't better, see phelps and beck

  • Ron Paul for President 2012. End US wars and occupations, return to sound money and preserve our liberty. And the rest of humanity will follow.

  • He didn't even acknowledge political parties, so it's funny watching the mainstream try and put him into one.

A side from the great loss of this event, politicians have finally woken up to the fact they are answerable to the people and that won't change.

  • i thought the guy is just a gun toting nut-job

  • @reashot Yeah, like all the other gun toting nut-jobs such as the assassins of the Kennedys, John Lennon, etc. I'll believe it's just random acts of violence when somebody guns down the likes of Glen Beck or Rupert Murdoch. The message is clear, speak out for any kind of left wing values and get murdered in the street.

  • @colourmegone LOL! Study the past and see how many civilizations religions destroyed!

  • @colourmegone

More to your point, at the very least JFK's assassin was not a random shooter.

  • Thank you!

  • Yes, thank you real news, but I think the message was clear from the getgo that the politics of paranoia the current M.O. of the Tea Party et al is causing violence. There's a history of escalation that you can watch, from scaring people at protest with assualt rifles, dropping guns at town halls to "send a message" to spitting on a congressman, to stomping on a young girls head, the brick through the window which was called for on a Tea Party blog, and now this.

  • Bring justice, education, real health...and civility will come back by itself, without no one having to force it. Lack of civility is not the cause, it's just the symptom!!!.

  • A problem still hangs over this yearning for "civility" and that is the class warfare that is driving the split in this nation. We are at the point of basic differences, those who want all the money and power versus those who just want a decent job and life. History has shown that the "haves" only give up and let the "have nots" have something by being forced too. When the ballot box is controlled so that there is no fairness in the vote, what is left to those who "have not"?

  • I'd like to remind people that it was "the Great" Ronald Reagan who's genius idea it was to close down all the mental institutions and put the insane back on the street. Hey what better way to get people to fear and loathe the homeless that now one in three is an asylum loon. So fucking hilarious though that the Gipper almost got killed by another insane person.

  • and thank you Real News, for taking the neccesary time until actual facts were released, before commenting on the Tucson shooting

(and also for upholding good journalistic standards, rather than joining todays omnipresent opinionism in MSM)

  • theres about 5 or 6 different americas-

I've driven around the country and its very visible

  • Exactly, I wish the fear mongering would stop on all sides

  • @manofaction2828 The difference is, Jay tells the truth.

  • @manofaction2828 you actually think the fear mongering and inciting of violence is in any way proportional on both sides of the isle.

  • @Meloman0001

There are actually people who believe that violence is mostly perpetrated by the left: /watch?v=eq5TsJ-fmnE

  • @Meloman0001

If you mean republican and democrat, then I stopped paying attention a long time ago. What I meant by "on all sides" was "everywhere you look"

  • Good job keeping it going, Mr jay.

  • well said
