Can someone please upload the 1994 and 1996. The ones with the spinning "G" and the one with the look-al-like movie film ???? Both had the same tune, just in different keys.
I REALLY wish someone could upload the old Global "crescent-moon" idents from 1997. If I remember right, one had something to do with tropical fish, another was a glowing flower, but the one I'm DYING to see again, is the "bouncing fruit" ident. That one was my favorite. : )
Dude, I thought the same thing not 24 hours ago. That was a tradition for me for the longest time. They now show Bugs Bunny and Tweety show everynight on Teletoon Retro, so at least we can relive the good days of TV.
The Global logo they use today, totally sucks. The red "G" logo takes me back to my childhood and the "crescent moon" logo takes me back to my teenage years. *sighs* I miss those days. The old cartoons, the old logos/jingles. Miss 'em all.
Man I LOVED Global! For me, the memories from there included The Mighty Hercules cartoons, News From Zoos (Charlie Chimp), Wait Till Your Father Gets Home & of course, Sounds Of Asia (South Asian program) which ran until '84 on Global then moved to Citytv
Damn, Global's not nearly as good as it used to be when I was a child. I remember when they aired good stuff like Care Bears at 7 am, Beetlejuice at 7:30, and Animaniacs at 8 am. *sighs* I miss the good old days.
@babygiraffe123 Mine was Astro Boy at 6:30, MASK at 7:00, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors at 7:30, the Droids at 8:00 and the Ewoks at 8:30 AM. :) I miss all of that.
Now Global TV is just basically shit from AM to PM. Except for Survivor which is the only show that I actually watch on this network. Saturdays have gone down the crapper simply because they took off the cartoons and put on sports and sit-coms. Not that there's anything wrong with sit-coms it's just that I would like there to be more originality on TV.
I agree CelesteK! I remember back in the day how there always used to be something worth watching every Saturday afternoon on Global. I wish the programmers there would look at the stations old airchecks (if they still have them lying around) and create a modernized form of what worked then
Have a faint memory of this logo from having seening the channel via the snowy UHF reception on channel 22 in my mom's RV when we sometimes go up over the state line, though I also have had the chance of picking up Global on my own bedroom TV (the Radio Shack indoor UHF antenna comes in handy when I bother to tinker with it)!
Timmins viewers watch Global on channel 5. I still have that tune in my memories from my childhood from the early 1980s. Peaceful music bed.

The sax solo made me think of Kenny G.

I love the saxaphone jazz riff...pure late 80s early 90s...reminds me of "LA Law", or the "Rysher Entertainment" outro for Saved By The Bell.

Whatever happened to Bugs Bunny, Saturdays at 5pm on Global? The Simpsons is on that time slot now, which is alright, but... it's just not the same.

The show was cancelled in 2000 after 40 years, that's what. (BTW, Family Guy has since taken over that slot.)

I myself long for Global Kids TV from the 80s... I hope that some station somewhere brings back the Mighty Hercules cartoons

that's when the station was at it's prime with everything including the news! Nowadays in Toronto, they're mainly dealing with former Citytv guys

We did not get global in Alberta=[ It has only been 7 years since global was able to get in to Alberta

I literally cried when watching this ident, at that time I was 6 or 7 years old...........I also like the other one in 1993, I also cried....

This is much nicer than the current "crescent moon" logo that reminds me of the little window in an outhouse door!

The "crescent moon" logo isn't current. It was used from 1997 to 2006, and now their logo resembles the "greater than" sign.
