Hey guys, I'm thinking of geting a digitech RP90 (its a pedal that comes with 40 different effects including whammy) for $100 or the digitech whammy pedal for $200 witch only comes with whammy which one should i get because I mainly want the whammy effect, but the RP90 doesnt look like its that good if u only want the whammy effect
I have the RP90, and can safely say that it's a very good pedal for its price. But if you really ONLY care about whammy, the digitech whammy pedal would be better (but probably not worth $100 more in my opinion).
If tone is something you want to consider, I suggest staying away from both. Rp's and Whammy's and Digitech in general for that matter, completely butcher any tone out of your guitar. That being said, I suggest the whammy, much more proffesionaly oriented pedal.
I got a DigiTech Whammy today, and when I have both the Whammy and my Crybaby Wah pedal turned on my amp picks up a finnish radio station!!! How the hell does thid happen !?

You can either ask around or ask the pros, but really matters is what you like. What you think you can use best. Given that some of the best tone shaping equip is pricy, you might find some vintage gold or an unheard phenom for $30 at a pawn shop and use it like no one else has. In short, if it's not self expression, it's not an art.
Oh and my advice would be to start with an EQ, and lite Distortion or fuzz to really make a basis for your tone. Don't forget to be picky, you might get stuck with something as bad as Dragonforce. lol.

your main stuff, is worth around £20,000i dont belive that and your 26..i have a VoxAC30,squierStrat,Shine SIL-681 you probs havent heard of,and just pedals and stuff.simple.amazing tone.didnt have to spend £20,000 to get a variety. around £2,000. all the sounds i need from each just by adding a simple effect or just adjusting my amp.more to the point unless you spend silly amounts you cant get a good ibanez.!? why cant you belive i work in a guitar shop?

im a graphics designer , i work hard and make alot of money , i have done since i was 22 , and i also work in a guitar workshop on the side , so i do alot of selling and stuff. its illegal for you to officially work in a guitar shop in the uk if you are 15. and i have herd of shine lol

And if you are saying don't slag them off until i have tried just "one" of there series of guitars that are meant to be good, then that wouldn't persuade me to like a brand. For example fender great brand great quality items from the bottom to the top range. Unlike Ibanez. could you name just a few off them amps you have?

Umm I would say learn some EVH or steve vai tapping patterns, you can find tabs on the internet.
