Damn...looking at SFCatgirlFanatic and VoidedNote's comments makes me lose hope in Mega Man "fans". I personally think 7 and 8 are HIGHLY underrated in all aspects and with opinions like those, it's why Capcom doesn't dare innovate any further than 8 and it's patheeetic. And don't even get me started on the voice acting. I see comments like that on X4 videos too. It. Isn't. THAT. Bad. Dr. Light's? Sure. The rest sound fuckin' fine (and memorable). Incredible standards some fans have...-_-
@VoidedNote Not really. Many people have different point of views on it. Yeah it could of had more, but what makes me mad is that the American Megaman games have important things changed.
@MOJUTMNT 1. The voice acting is terrible (American version only, other languages didn't get screwed that bad).
2. The game play made you question the intention of the creators (X6 had this too, but it was still 'good').
3. The music, compared to every other game in the series, was horribly lacking. (Even X7 had good music)
4. At it's best, the game was 'meh'. It wasn't very fun at any point. It's the only Megaman game that seemed to lack the fun component. Idk how or why.
@SFCatgirlFanatic 7 was way better, the voice acting killed what little plot it had. Swimming was really... never again. And limited bolts wasn't a good idea either. 7 was easily my favorite out of the original series, fighting a Bass that could actually be a threat was fun, and most of the bosses weren't weird and awkward.
@VoidedNote Don't get me wrong; 8 has its share of problems. Yes, the VA was awful, but I skipped the cut-scenes anyway lol. 7 just had awful graphics to me, and that led to awkward jumps. It's still a good game, but I prefer 3 over any of the classic series anyway lol. I'm not tryin' to dog on your opinion...I hope it didn't come across as that. O.o
Thank goodness this wasn't on the anniversery collection. I might've be all NO! NO! NOT YOU AGAIN! I KILLED YOU! *Fire and immediatly kill Wood Man* Oh.
@mopbrothers PSX port was released in December 1996 and it was the original version (PSX exclusive feature is promotion video for Rockman Battle&Chase and Super Adventure Rockman). Saturn port was released January 1997 and instead included the following: final version of Tengu Man's theme, Two more bolt bosses (taken from RM and RM2), robot master fan art, sound check, voice check, and cutscene theater.
The Saturn version actually had the superior sound track. The Saturn sound chip is capable of 33% more sound channels than the PS1 so as a result the songs on the Saturn version have more instruments in them and have a fuller sound to them.
If I remember correctly, Sega Saturn is 64-Bit and Sony PlayStation is 32-Bit. I still love Sony though even if it has low capabilities on graphics and sound, just because a lot of great games went on that system.
@AkumaUchitoru: Both the Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation were 32-bit consoles. The major differences were that the Saturn was harder to develop 3D games on while the PlayStation was never really meant to play 2D games.
Awesome console though, too bad it's usually forgotten about. Had heaps of great games, genuinely fun and epic ones, with a very wide diversity. Todays games all follow a trend, gets kinda samey.

Any body else mad that Woodman and Cutman wasn't in the PSX version?
MOJUTMNT 1 year ago 4
@MOJUTMNT Anybody else mad that they played MM8? I'm a huge fan of Megaman, but this game was horrible. It's the X7 of the original series.

@VoidedNote So true. Also X6 voice overs where, and still are the worst.
MOJUTMNT 11 months ago
@MOJUTMNT You mean X7? The X6 Japanese voices were good.
VoidedNote 11 months ago
@VoidedNote No no. I meant the English voices for X6.
MOJUTMNT 11 months ago
@MOJUTMNT There were Engish voices for X6? There was no voices on my version. If you're talking about in game those are the Japanese voices.
VoidedNote 11 months ago
@VoidedNote I'm talking about movie parts. Like Zero vs Calonel.
MOJUTMNT 11 months ago
@VoidedNote That's X4, not X6.

@VoidedNote I thought it was awesome! I bought it when I was a kid...it was miles better than 7.

If they ever make a Mega Man 10, Airman needs to make an appearance with an 8-bit mix of "Can't Defeat Airman" playing.
