I love this album because for me it is the quintessential record that needs an "Acquired Ear" it fully appreciate it. A perfect example of this is when I first started listening to the Queens. This was the 2nd album I heard and I thought it was shit! Only after I listened to all there other cds did I really start to get into EV. Now its my favorite album(or maybe Rated R..idk)! Misfit Love was also my least favorite songs on EV and now its one of my all time favorite QOTSA songs! Ive matured.

He's so out there sometimes that it takes repeated listening to 'get it' and I think that's partly why QOTSA is such an amazing group.

Secondly, if you can't do that shit as a drummer, you seriously haven't gone past the basics yet. Learning to divide your stroke into downbeat and upbeat will probably be one of the first things you learn as a drummer.
