Thank you all for participating in this conversation! Smith3171, I wanted to respond to your comment. While there are standout companies, a typical corporation gives less than 1% of its *profits*. We go above and beyond by giving away an average of 7% of our *revenue*. Revenue is giving away 7% of the sale price. We donate more than if we simply gave 7% of our profits, and dramatically more than most companies. To date, we have raised over $9 million for literacy efforts all over the world.
Don't donate anything to these crooks! You're better off giving your books to a local library book sale, where the money will really go toward helping people in your local community. These people donate 7% of after-tax profits to charity! Lots of companies do that... but they don't tout themselves in this shameful way. BWB: go away!
I love better world books. For an international buyer the shipping is so much cheaper than Amazon. I shopped with Amazon for over 8 years and brought hundreds of books off them. Once I found out they were selling books on how to molest children then I closed my account. Not once in 8 years of buying off Amazon did I get a discount voucher. Better World Books has given me discount vouchers as a thanks for my business. I now recommend better world books to all my family and friends. Amazon Suck!!!
I'm a BWB customer and I cannot recommend them too highly. The service is excellent, the causes supported are fantastic, prices are brilliant, the products are in excellent condition AND carbon offset shipping.
Honestly, shop with Better World Books. You'll really be pleased that you did.
@LLStar117 How selfish. Even the poorest Americans can drop by a library and read any book they want. In places like Africa, there are NO libraries, or there are so few that 99% of the population can't access them. Who needs it more, someone here who's too cheap to buy a full-price book or too lazy to get a library card, or schools around the world that have one text book for every 20 students?
