Guild Wars 2 will have a far more complex perspective on the whole skill set, as I've seen in gameplay reviews of Guild Wars 2 any given class has multiple functions or roles with different skillsets and weapons they can use, which most MMO's have failed at in the given generations.
i have just begun to look at this game but if environmental events and skillset options are the only good things about this game then it will fail, because if they still include the trinity, the gear treadmill, and dungeons that one needs to find groups for then it will be nothing more then a fancier finish on a 10 year old game model.
Im sorry but im not playing MMOs to wonder around some random highway or some random tunnel and kill some random "zombie" creature or mobs that look like Final Fantasy monsters.
Im playing MMOs to kill BAMs , ugly creatures and all that wierd stuff that makes me think those monsters AR actualy bad .
A good game in my eyes is the game that gives me more then i can handle , looks alot different then what im facing daily , a game full of streets and damaged buildings is not my type
Due to this being sub and GW2 being buy to play....I think that those inclined to go try GW2 over TSW will stick with it instead of having to buy another game & Sub just to "test it out"

@pinkdeath82 The players hyped GW2 not the developers. GW2 developers has released more information than funcom's TSW, which you cannot deny. You can find bunch of alpha convention game play as well as beta game play for GW2, however, TSW game play is scarce.
A-Net has been very open. For funcom, I really feel like we are seeing a lot of the usual Funcom hype and I will remain skeptical.
When has the Secret World won any "most anticipated MMO" awards? The only MMO that has won most anticipated anything has probably been SWTOR and we all know what a giant pile of dog shit that game is.
@pinkdeath82 the devs didn't pump the hype the players did, the only articles that have come out have been from select companies playing the press beta, and secondly, the ones KNOWN for being bought out, like the many that gave SWTOR high ratings when it was a glorified p2p beta at launch didn't get that invite, so don't believe the reviews of TSW either because it definitely has more hype then GW2 due to the constant press.

All the concepts in this game are really good ideas and things i would like to see in every MMO, but I'm a little disappointed graphically, I would like to see a more captivating combat system. The visual storytelling is great, it was the only thing I liked from SWTOR, and i like it here, the investigation missions sound very fun and will enrich the community. So many good things about this make me want to play it, but just looking at it on screen kind of leaves me a bit disappointed.

If you're only basing this off of your friend's status, than you've probably not been tracking it. TOR is going through the standard MMO growing pains, the same ones WoW went through years ago, and the ones EQ went through, and so on and so on. Numbers wise, TOR hasn't lost a significant amount of subs, so I'm not sure what you're basing your statement on...

Guys this is a very very very bad game. Its in fact a zombie game with 1988 graphics, cheesy dialog, piece of crap gameplay, lousy sound fx and its very repetitive.
So all of you who are talking bad of this game, please stay at your current mmo's. This one isn't worth it.

@VoidandDark An inside source says, these deficiencies will be greatly improved upon before launch. The top brass has seen SWTOR and knows that despite that MMO's somewhat cartoony presentation, the bar for voice and face animation is set quite high.

People who complian about this game, expect an MMO to play like a console shooter like Gears of War or Call of Duty. MMO's have a diffrent fumula, if you dont like it, maybe theyre just not for you. Im looking foward to this game, I just hope I dont have to pay.

@uberpacman02 Here's hoping the rest of it follows how awesome the concept looks. It is pretty cool how it has a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen feel to it. Though I wish they had more interactive story parts, maybe it will later but for now it feels like the story part of it is the only interesting part to it for me that is. @kemita They have the PERSISTENT warzone concept instead, with three factions, you should have much less of the one-side-is-bigger problem, since the two other factions will probably gang up on the larger one until the balance changes. ;)

They boast about no limitations like other mmo games yet there's more linearity and limitations than the mainstream mmo games on the market. This will be yet anther failed mmo, these type of games are ten years ago. Think of something different and new for god sake!
The movement look horribly static and i must say , i had such high hopes for this game , to bad i'll be waiting for GW2 i guess.. if there was an normal open beta i could maybe change my mind.
It's by Funcom.... I bet it'll be over-rated, highly linear with no replay value, take forever to listen to the (bad) dialogue to do the quests, and tons of zoning into and out of maps just to travel.
It's a great idea that, just like Age of Conan, seems to be rushed and pushed out before being polished to be actually good.
@wazwolf fyi, this game's pre-production started during 2002, to me its just about damn time it gets released, I don't see why you say it seems to be rushed. Also, Age of Conan did quite well after a year, it didn't stay a failure for long. Furthermore, they have the experience of Age of Conan to back up the development, so they're much less likely to make twice the same mistakes (specially those they fixed afterwards in Age of Conan).

AoC was never a success. Unless them getting money qualifies as success. They never recovered from the mass exodus they had after release. They just rebounded a little. The servers died off quick. And now it is free, with ghost town populations.
@disdroid i doubt guild wars is going to be released any time sooner than summer m8. the company is in closed beta since December and have not announced the open one. i am a big fan of GW2 and its prolly gonna be a greater game than this one. but fantasy setting is getting old. i wanna shot some goddamned zombies with a shotgun! :)

Seeing it being played for the first time in the nearly 3 years since I heard about this game I can honestly say Im genuinely excited :) The UI seems not as large and clunky as some MMO's (Im looking at you STO >:( ) yet easy to for players to chain attacks and get off powers, unlike another MMO im playing (DCUO). I like the story and setting. Very unique to have a modern real(ish) world with paranormal elements in an MMO, thats what I want from a MMO uniqueness.
Finally something new. Not just mindless grinding for gear, you actually have to us your mind!

People who complian about this game, expect an MMO to play like a console shooter like Gears of War or Call of Duty. MMO's have a diffrent fumula, if you dont like it, maybe theyre just not for you. Im looking foward to this game, I just hope I dont have to pay.

@uberpacman02 Here's hoping the rest of it follows how awesome the concept looks. It is pretty cool how it has a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen feel to it. Though I wish they had more interactive story parts, maybe it will later but for now it feels like the story part of it is the only interesting part to it for me that is. Still though I'm probably not going to get it if it's P2P since there's other MMOs that are F2P that have caught my eye already anyways.

Alright, Ive researched this game as much as i can find relevent.. Game looks alright and might have some really cool features, I really like the progression and the things you fight are completely badass xD
However... Even if this game comes out perfectly as cool as they make it sound.. It still wont have the half the wow-factor that GW2 will have if only half of their feature come out half right =/ cool game tho

@kemita They have the PERSISTENT warzone concept instead, with three factions, you should have much less of the one-side-is-bigger problem, since the two other factions will probably gang up on the larger one until the balance changes. ;)

It's by Funcom.... I bet it'll be over-rated, highly linear with no replay value, take forever to listen to the (bad) dialogue to do the quests, and tons of zoning into and out of maps just to travel.
It's a great idea that, just like Age of Conan, seems to be rushed and pushed out before being polished to be actually good.

@wazwolf fyi, this game's pre-production started during 2002, to me its just about damn time it gets released, I don't see why you say it seems to be rushed. Also, Age of Conan did quite well after a year, it didn't stay a failure for long. Furthermore, they have the experience of Age of Conan to back up the development, so they're much less likely to make twice the same mistakes (specially those they fixed afterwards in Age of Conan).

AoC was never a success. Unless them getting money qualifies as success. They never recovered from the mass exodus they had after release. They just rebounded a little. The servers died off quick. And now it is free, with ghost town populations.

Seeing it being played for the first time in the nearly 3 years since I heard about this game I can honestly say Im genuinely excited :) The UI seems not as large and clunky as some MMO's (Im looking at you STO >:( ) yet easy to for players to chain attacks and get off powers, unlike another MMO im playing (DCUO). I like the story and setting. Very unique to have a modern real(ish) world with paranormal elements in an MMO, thats what I want from a MMO uniqueness.
