Funny you mention Tesla. My Grandfather worked on The Wardenclyffe tower and the volksie's used a 3 Gigawatt tesla coil to create an anti-gravity wave that kind of bounced the vehicle off the Ionospehere and the earths surface. Thats why its called the Bug because it hopped between the layers of electro-magnetism in the stratosphere.

Besides takeoff and landing on roads the Volkswaffe floated on water for amphibious landings after being launched from U-boat decks. It could land in the ocean beside the U-boat and be winched back up on deck. They could insert special forces or conduct raids on the US. Production was too late for Germany to employ them in force before the war ended. Postwar, WW-I aircraft engines lacking thrust for flight replaced the rocket engines. The project then morphed back into a VW automobile.

In 1945, my father was involved with the US Army Air Corp. program to recover advanced German aircraft technology.
While their cover story was always about trying to capture Jet and Rocket Planes, and V-1 and V-2 missiles, a major goal of the program was to seize the deadly Volkswaffe, before the Russians could.
Three were recovered, two of which were working, and are held in secret, in Area 51, in New Mexico. They were the cause of many early UFO sightings, in the late 1940's to early 1950's.

Come on. Volkswaffe doesn't even make any sense! Volks is most likely borrowed from Volkswagon (people's car) and waffe is most likely borrowed from Luftwaffe (air weapon/force). So Volkswaffe would be people's weapon/force and even luftwagon would have made a tiny bit more sense.

It's no fake, this is brilliant misdirection. The Volkwagen was revealed in truth to be more than just a car, but the documentary makers are using flight as a red herring.
It was really called the VolksMarine.. a car that was built to float. Hitler saw his soldiers driving the cars across the English channel. Only in the 70's was the sinister truth revealed that the chassis was in fact watertight.
And who was the whistle-blower? That's right, Barbara Striesand in the movie 'What's Up Doc?' hmm

A short scene near the end of the film where she and Ryan O'Neal drive a Beetle into San Francisco Bay, makes Striesand the Roger Patterson of the VolksMarine Project.
Why was Beetle production continued for years in South America? Ever see 'The Boys From Brazil"? Imagine thousands of Brazilians geting their orders: they all drive to the Amazon, and create the largest armada ever. Now THIS is how to make a fake video! Great editing, believable commentary, great script. The only downside is the "daughter" is too young looking and the photograph of her father is too pristine looking. It is not "faded/fsoft" like many black & white photographs from this era look.
Whoever created this spook did a very good job!
