Nalbandian and Federer are the only players that really take each ball early and stay close to the baseline. Now everybody stands 10 feet behind and hits with extreme grips and spin...
It's not the racket head speed it's both his ability to hit it in the sweetspot and his big honkin powerful yonex. By far the most powerful racket on tour. He also hits it insanely flat.
@tennisprodigy11 no disrespect, but how are you so certain, that yonex raquets are the most powerfull raquets..there are quite a few variables, that influence power, such as strings, tension, raquet weight, frame stiffness, balance, raquet head speed, technique, as well.
@RossBayCult Hewitt in 2001 and 2002 was absolutely amazing. He was by far the fittest player and was tactically spot on in the majority of his matches. Sure Nalbandian is heaps more talented, but Hewitt had the better game if we include mental strength and endurance into the mix.
@AllGenreMusic On top of that, prime Hewitt had the best footwork i've ever seen, just a joy to watch from a technical perspective, absolutely flawless.
@HappyFunTimeNoDrugs david had a really bad day that final. i don't know if hewitt beat david again after that final. nalbandian in the head to head owns him
@nsaberturas Actually their H2H is even. Hewitt dominated Nalbandian in the early days ('02-'05) but then Nalbandian started to really climb when Hewitt was fading away.
@Mopzboy luck, hewitt had him in the bag should have won it in 4 sets when he had that match point, the other dop shot to save the match point by nalbandian was luck which nalbandian implied in his interview after the match
15:03 is one of the few points that nalbandian reach the ball running that fast, it has to do with the importance of the point, in other context he wouldn´t had run that
@mjsupafly first of all, learn grammar.... the point of my comment was that this match was so hard fought and long that he found it too much for him to continue on in the tournament... not racist at all
@mjsupafly how can i be the racist one when i am an indigenous australian? yeah you fucked up didn't you? i get targeted a fair bit for being aboriginal so why would i sink to their level? fucking idiot
@mjsupafly hahahahaha you really are an idiot, not anywhere on my profile does it say i am white nor black... i am an aboriginal australian so why dont you just fuck off and annoy someone else because you just are not going to win here
i predicted the outcome of this match. while watching no matter how close it was i knew hewitt just doesnt have it anymore. hes not aggressive enough and nalbandian seems to raise his game against hewitt
that awesome moment at match point when the crowd realizes the lob was going in. because it was a lob, everybody went from hope to despair and finally acceptance in about 2 seconds. Just beautiful.
Every person that loves tennis will be very sad when Nalbandian retires. You can agree about his lack of work ethic, consistency, focus for tennis etc., but David is a rare tennis genius that is able to produce magic on a tennis court. I have seen magic on a tennis court only from four players; Sampras, Rios, Federer and Nalbandian. He dissapointed me so many times even i am not his greatest fan but he manages somehow with his amazing talent to get under your skin. Thank you for the magic David.
@redasdu84 I will so, David is so irregular. and when you bet like me, its good to have a regular player like Lleyton in the circuit for win some money, putting it on the other guy.
Best Nalbandian beat the best Federer a few times, beat Nadal, beat Djokovic, beat Murray, semifinals in the 4 gs, won a master against Federer number 1, two master series beating Federer and Nadal. hewitt? number 1 in a bad moment for tennis, when level increased he dissapeared.
@devilemperor123 Haha. Very funny. A bad moment for tennis ? That's fun, Hewitt and Nalbandian played in the Wimbledon final, and Hewitt totally crushed Nalbandian. The argentine has never been good in big matches. Like you said, he made semi-finals in the 4 slams. He lost them all. Hewitt made 4 grand slam FINALS. The two he lost were against an incredible Federer and an incredible Federer. Hewitt is a fighter, a real champion. Nalbandian will ever be an underachiever. That's the difference.
@redasdu84 for Nalbandian, being 3 in 2006 back to Roger and Nadal (later Federer said David deserved be number 1 this year but injuries didnt let him) was like for Hewitt being number 1 when Safin and Agassi were the only hard guys. Hewitt matured so fast, thats why he beat David in 2002. But what happened in 2005, playing Davis in Australia, when both were consolidated in the circuit? Nalbandian destroyed Hewitt, made him look ridiculous in front of his people.
@redasdu84 who could beat the best Federer, the best Nadal, in important matches? Hewitt? Did he ever beat Roger, maybe when he was starting his career?
@riceranger12345 Yeah it sorta looks like this epic match drained their fragile bodies for the 2011 season. Their not exactly young and full of energy anymore lol. Both pretty much eventually had injuries after this match and never recovered their form. That's too bad I guess :\
@TheBobbyStones well, i mean with all his resourses and experience he must be one of the top ten his game is very complete he used to be a recogized player but now he has`t the same spirit
@Brian18981 Off course ¡¡¡¡ anyway he won one master cup , two master series tournament , did one grand slam final and he did semis in alll the g slams
It's so not funny that these guys met in the first round. Why would the Australian Open decide to screw over its own player? Why would any tournament pit these prized bulls against each other on the least expensive day! Bastards! HOW CRUEL! I WANTED NALBANDIAN TO GET FAR DAMN ITadsfkjsga
