I plan on getting both "pets" for sims 2 and "pet stories" someday....to see what, if any, differences there are besides one obviously being an add on for sims 2 and one being a stand alone game that was purposefully made so laptop owners can enjoy a sims game while traveling or at home on their laptop. Another huge difference is if you have sims 2 pets then you could get those pet related mods from modthesims and that opens up more pet options for you since without mods you couldn't have a fox

@DoogieGo directed story mode, lower system requirements, so it's easier to play on a laptop and the 'stories' games are a little more beginning simmer. They also include different items than are available in the regular sims.

@Haley143ily In the "Stories" series for the Sims, there are objectives you have to follow, unless you're playing the endless mode, or whatever it's called. I never had the pets stories, but I had life stories before I got my first Sims 2 game.

@LexayBaybee Well TheSims Games for PlayStation and other consoles are not as good as the PC versions. TheSims2 Stories games are also not as good as the main Sims game. Why not try TheSims2 or TheSims3 for PC? Its a matter of personal opinion weather a game is good or not, so maybe TheSims is just not your game.

i had sism 2 pets but then my game crashed but i made a really cute vid :) and i loved that dog becuse i made it after this one dog that a huskey/german mix and it saved me from a fire it was a fire dog. yea but that dog that saved me was really inported to me i cryed for 2 weeks when i herd a pice of wood fell and killed the dog. he was able to save 1 more kid before he died :( R.I.P Skyler

Don't worry, maxis adds just about the same exact expansion in every sims game for pc, the sims 1 had hot date and the sims 2 had nightlife, the sims 1 had unleashed and the sims 2 had pets, the sims 1 had makin magic and the sims 2 had apartment life, the sims 3 is getting there, they just released late night which is basically like nightlife from the sims 2...every sims game will start off small, once the sims 3 gets bigger, it will be 3x better than the sims 2...trust me...
