  • Good grief, I'd totally forgotten this great version. In the South, you'd hear the good stuff like this on R&R and Top 40 stations, too. Bet it didn't get too far on the 'Yankee' stations :).

    Some of the highbrow rockers wouldn't play it in the South, but dear old WNOX and the 99ers in Knoxville did !

  • Heard this for the first time on KOMA Oklahoma City in 1966 and loved it ever since.It not only was a big current hit then but was played as an oldie for several years after. The best version by far, Sorry Patsy.

  • There was a DJ on WIBG in Philly named Bill Wright, Sr. that would play country and other songs nobody else would play- this song being a perfect example.
