Good grief, I'd totally forgotten this great version. In the South, you'd hear the good stuff like this on R&R and Top 40 stations, too. Bet it didn't get too far on the 'Yankee' stations :).
Some of the highbrow rockers wouldn't play it in the South, but dear old WNOX and the 99ers in Knoxville did !
Hi Tommy Great song, well done.I have a new song entitled,A Lonely Singer Like Me,original,I subbed and rated you can you do the same,I would like to metion that All my songs are original,God Bless.you,GARY V.
Heard this for the first time on KOMA Oklahoma City in 1966 and loved it ever since. It not only was a big current hit then but was played as an oldie for several years after. The best version by far, Sorry Patsy.
this is amazing 1967 heard this for the first time in woolworths eith my boyfriend we were 17 ...we have been married for 43 years must have made a big impact on our lives...
There was a DJ on WIBG in Philly named Bill Wright, Sr. that would play country and other songs nobody else would play- this song being a perfect example.

I heard this particular version only once sometimes in the 60´s. Found it again tonight - felt like 40 years younger
