  • Amazing!

  • mmm thats good feux follets!

  • I saw her at the National Chopin Competition :D

  • OMG!

    she's so amazing!:P

I wanna see her in concerT!

    :P

by the way, what was her place after the competition?

    :P

    great vid!

  • Wonderful playing. She doesn't quite excite me as much as Evgeny Kissin on this piece. I think Kissin may be playing on a bit better piano though. This is a Yamaha. She does give her own own female touch to the piece. To me Kissin puts a little fantasy into the piece. I enjoy her playing very much also.

  • @robertslistening I think I would agree with you there. Kissin certainly has more power but I really do enjoy this performance.

  • She is genial is true but please only fingers...

  • I enjoyed this very much; an excellent effeminate program and accurate performance for such like!

  • this girl is incredible...she' s not normal!!!!!she's the best of all!!!!

  • Program played here:

    Chopin: Etude op.10/2

    Liszt: Etude d'excécution transcendante n. 5 "Feux follets", S139

    Stravinsky: Etude op.7/4

Chopin: Andante spianato e Grande Polacca brillante, op.22

Liszt: Réminiscences de Don Juan, S418

    Tokuyama: Musica Nara

IMHO, this IS NOT human!! And she was only 16 here! "Breathtaking performance" is not enough!

  • This is just so amazing! I haven't ever heard so wonderful version of 10 2. So wonderful music!

  • Amazing . Only comparable to Pollini´s version.

    666

  • This is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wonderful pianist.

    666

  • what dp u mean by '666' ??!

  • What i meant?. jockolong?.

    Just 3 consecutives 6.

  • Amazing!

It's so fast, and my eyes are running out!:)

  • Are you still with farts ??? farttlestruchs?

    Some probelm with your asshole?.

Just take many Ex-Lax tablets, and you will trow away all your fucking farts.

Just don´t disturb the beutiful playing of this nice girl with your fucking farts.

And please. don´t go to any of her recitals, becuase all people will abandon the concert hall becuase your dirty farts.

    666

  • Oh please, just stop it.

  • What´s the matter with you beaver77756?

i will stop it when i want. Capito?

  • Strange to find almost NO MUSIC in this girl's rendings, sketchy skimpy tone,no real body of sound or nuance, all fart oof arsed like she snot interestd &got another competition to get to.Stravinsky sounded as anaemic as her ShowPan.Depressing.I zapped out beef ore the yendddd.

  • fartstklestucks...youshould have a nickname ""FART" which is closer to your fucking ignornace.

When you want to write or speak about something what you have no even the smallest idea, is better to take your tongue, and put in into your asshole.

    Retarded.

    666

  • ----> or personality, sense of musical architecture, tone quality, and of course PHRASING.

All this elements are perfectly harmonized by this over-talented pianist.

So : Just say i dont´like, or if is not the case , explain scientifically the reasons for your comments.

    666

  • In general terms you can not expect too much form Asian pianists.

BUT this pianist is the exception. She is a great pianist already.

You are a kind of ignorant. Go to learn something about music before.

    666

  • @z666z666z what a stupid thing to say. In general terms you cannot expect too much from any pianist these days-Asian or not.

  • I think she is a phenomenal pianist. But the most artistic musicians know that beauty in music can't be accomplished when notes are so fast that you can't feel the music anymore. Express don't impress. This is about technique, not artistry. Which is alot of what the music scene is about, showmanship. I would rather hear this piece a tad slower.

  • uhmmm tisilisls when somebody plasy fast but thinks at the speed of his (her) playing is not probelm.

This superb pianist thinks the same or faster than the speed she plays. For that reason it sounds so fluent.........her pianism.

Not about artistry? Did you listen her prhasings, dynamics, balances, nuances?

She is just perfect. SOme pieces are not so good played in her hands, aS an example the Mozart Fantasie in C minor, BUT NOBODY `PALYS EVERYTHING PERFECT.

    666

  • Some of the songs are written to be as fast as she plays

  • BRava Hungaci

    666

  • Ohh yeahh..............what a place . the beauty and the beasts?

    No at all.

Superman?..........Wonder woman? Bachelet? Kakasetto? Cheeta? Tarzan?

so cool......yeahh...all assholes. In this place the only brained are mathpianist, frater, and zongora.

Just an amazing pianist. Ototoi.....Wang tang.

    sugoi.

fuck fuck and fuck. What a moment.bananas ¡¡

    666

  • This is NOT funny.

Huangci only chose to perform the TECHNICALLY HARDEST PIECES!!! I couldn't name a single pianist who liked to show off more bravura; she even surpasses Liszt in showing off bravura.

  • Hello.

Is somebody the moderator of this link?

Please make know it, becuause i would like to send him (her) a very important private post.

    Thanks in advance.

    zongorarichter

  • And Liszt WAS JUSTIFIED TO BE showing off bravura!!!

  • continuing.....a guy with a terrible technique so stiff. he played not mistakes almost, but his complete playing was a mistake..........so blurry, unclear, terrible use of pedals, clampling the floor with his foot, etc. just terrible, but he got the first place......Well in my opinion the third place should be assigned to Wang Shijun. and the last one to Sederenko or Yuan Jye.

Well, that´s the life. ...to continue.....

  • continuing....Well, that´s the life. Anyway my sincere congratulations.

Unfortunately competitions are not the real indicator about how is your playing. The real imprtant think is improve yoour playing..specially since the musical side.

  • continuing.....talking about you.

So..is good when you get advise from somebody about your "Bussines". also try to get advise to a different person to get a wider idea aboout how your "Bussines" is going. I am a person who believe in ture talent, and i believe you have it, But a little changing of attitude, could be very positive for you. Also avoid some unnecesary "Expressions" you made sometimes(fortunately are few), to establish a difference between a mere "Emotive"... to continue....

  • You are ytpiano7!

  • Read carefully "no1Asskisser". I am not ytpiano7, but if you don´t believe it, sorry i can´t do nothing for it.

    Bye dear

  • you are right no1asskikker

  • No1asskiker is right. Farteramadeus is ytpiano7 and it's also roberto barvo. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Thousands of u tubers know it too. Same style of writing.

  • continuing... in terms of a mechanic monster, but not as a real musician. I know that´s not true. But a thing who is true, owed to your amazing technique (i don´t know if it do you learned from a superlative teacher, or if it is a natural born gift)is the fact you don´t worry too much about to go deep into hte music itself, and a kind of arrogant attitude towards it. I really don´t know if thta is true, but at least thta is the opinion i got from mostly people who i was ...to continue...

  • Well. Dear Claire: If you are reading this comments about you... Take a note of this: I was invited for a person "X" to "Observe" the Hamamatsu "Piano Academy". I went Saturday afternoon and i remain until this evening. I was watching all the 6 finalists.

The best of all 6 were by far: You and the amazing 11 year old "Alice Burla". Alice Burla played a beautiful incredible 1st Chopin concerto under any point of view...technically and musically...

    to continue..

  • continuing.... you played an amazing 2nd Prokofieff concerto, but a question to you: ¿Why do you choose that concerto?...well, despite i really don´t like too much that work, it shows from you only (or mostly) you technique, but not some of the nice things you make( as an example) in the Chopin etude Op10 No2, or Feux Follets, or Bach-Busoni Chaconne. I make this observation, because many people(included some of the jury and not only from this competition) who i know, think of you..to continue..

  • My friend who belong to a group interested in improve the level of comments on youtube is now on vacation fron youtube. He will no make any comment for a while. I am speaking about ytpiano7. The principal difference between us is: I don´t get involved in dicussions with people like the guys who use garbage language.

    ytpiano7

  • But ...so which is the problem with born in South America, or in any other country? bastard? From where is Martha Argerich? Baremboim? Arrau? Nelson Freire? Cristina Ortiz? Giomar novaes? Roberto Szydon?

You are a mentally retarded ans probably a big homosexual...

  • Hola kaseto067 concha tu madre.

  • Cierto kasetto547 no soy sudamericano concha tu madre

  • ytpiano7 sewer rat: BAGAYELO!

  • Of course she is not the monkey pig chinese lang Lang.

You are comparing a first class person with a Chines "Culi" ( la Bestia ) lang Lang.

De que legato estás hablando? Ni tienes idea de lo que hablas. A ver te espero para que sustentes lo que escribes.

    ytpiano7

  • If you just watch her, you realize that her playing is not as as exciting as it seems. Bad posture, bad body movements.

  • Bad posture, Bad body movements?

    Really?

Well explain why if you can.

    I will waiting for it.

    ytpiano7

  • "BNestimmterdas" is one more of the group of homosexuals who come here to SPAM Claire Huangci.

    ytpiano7

  • CLAIRE is Cheap Whore! Claire is

    a Monkey! Bad Playing Piano.

  • I totoaal agree with you.

  • Only an intelectual donkey can compare a 17 years old outstanding pianist with Argerich, Horowitz,...unbelievable, BUT MOST unbelievable is when that intelectual donkey put in the same bag Horowitz, Argerich and ¿Mitsuko Uchida the maniac pianist? but at least correct musician...BUT the mediocre Yundi Li with his stiff technique, and plntey of false accents ?? My God the ignorance and lack of people involved professionaly in music who make comments here is just Beyond any imagination

    ytpiano7

  • And to be clear:

What i wanted to say is:

1)Clarie Huangci is already a great pianist despite her young age.

2)Horowitz and Argerich belong to the history already as a great pianists of all times.

3)Mitsuko Uchida is just a very correct pianist(no more)with a tons of lack of self control..argh.

3)Yundi Li is just a clean notes player with bad technic and very media musical level. He needs urgently to search for a good teacher. Win a competition in these days is not neccesary "The true".

  • interesting. she seems ok. all things considered. could you please the complete video?

  • i will never run out of words and new account name if i will. The words of revenge and vengeance against claire who will never have media support, no talent, no feelings, no dexterity.....

    DG

  • She does not rate in comparison to the living -- mistuko uchida, martha argerich or even yundi li - and the dead -- friedrich gulda, horowitz etc.... This is due to her lack of physical and emotional strength - demonstrated by her relatively weak tones in the piano, even in pieces such as the prokofiev, which require power. She uses a lot of pretentious elegance, producing light and weak tones, lacking in depth. nuances doesn't matter when u got someone with no feelings as claire

  • the physical strength required to play the piano is not of the big-muscle sort that claire lacks. Furthermore, Claire is always weak. also her tone is the weakest out there... it is a little heavy in some repertoire because she doesn't modify it.

  • she may play some of the difficult pieces but continue to worsen her techniques. she often has trouble with nuances. there's plenty of pretension and self-consciousness in her playing like what she does with this piece. it shows how many takes she had to do during this recital. Perhaps she almost had begun her so-called career in piano but throughout her life, she is only average pianist in general.

  • So wonderful. Great technique, Completely relaxed. Very even nuances. Great prahsing and use of dynamics. Only an ignorant amateur can make complaints against this already great pianist in his 16-17 years old.

    ytpiano7

  • She doesn't love playing the piano and it is obvious that she is only force to study by her teacher. She doesn't take this seriously. She doesn't smile. people would be longing for other things when they see this or even just after listening to this robotic pianist.

  • she plays this piece worse than any one else but better than she plays with her other already worse pieces and she plays a lot of out of out of tune notes because she don't memorize her piece

  • she doesn't show the real essence of the music. she is just a mime artist like in a silent film. just a mimic show of playing the piano. it surprise me how she can convey little playing through the piano

  • Is this Etude Op. 10 No. 2?

  • Yes it is.

  • She uses her lack of memory to excuse her from having maturity and expression in her piece. Forget the faults, this kid's lack of soul is an ordinary pattern in her playing. She can't channel such subtly of mood, expression, emotion - to say of her technical ability

  • she has no potential and does not show a large technical skill. she plays with the maturity of a confident 2 year old.

  • I want to go shoot the person who says that a woman can't move their fingers as rapidly as a man(though it had absolutely nothing to do with the piano).

  • I can tell there is a lot of talent beyond the technical ability.

However, as for the piece itself, I'm not terribly fond if it...

  • You don't respect people, people won,t respect you. A very simple formula.

  • that shows lack of practice already that she stoop down to the keyboards. i tink she needs some eye glasses because she has a trouble to see the piano.

  • why is she sway like there's a hurricane. she is a sway robot. why couldn't she see the keyboards? why does she have to stoop down.

  • claire's mama is imbecil. i saw it on the other youtube. i don't know what she is if she is a pianoist or a imbecil. cannot decide please help me.

  • Ask ytpiano7. That thing is a professional.

  • what is this that she is playing on the keyboards?

  • i saw claire last night at a bar. she ordered margarita and cosmopolitan. that was cool. i did not know pianoist could drink at the bar. i thought they are like playing

  • You are 18 years old.

Why were you at a bar, last night?

  • You believe he is 18? In the world of cyberspace everything are fake.

  • Yes, you are.

I can't say he writes the fact or not.

But, at least he writes so at his page.

  • Now, I can understand what you say, kseto88.

    Thank you foy your comment.

So, we are in a cyberspace.

But..., there is a big problem.

The problem is I ofen forget it.

  • No, they're not loosers. Far from it, just an upper class type.

  • Ia a moderator here or a persons who can block the "Kseto88" comments?

One thing is to make comments against somebody, and a differnet one is to come here with that kind of language who belongs more to a prostitues context maybe, but not to a place like this. What a pitty to have to read people with mental problems and with so low behavior-Probably that "Kseto88" born and growht in a neigborhood like Harlem or similar.

    ytpiano7

  • ytpiano7 should be removed. His comments are very insulting people. He likes to call a chinese person a chinese monkey or pigs. Is that what you call a high behaviour? Anyone agree with me?

  • What a coincidence

The sick "Kseto88" and his sick friend "ytpiano9" not myself...i am "ytpiano7".

Those two fanatics of lang lang, hate me soo musch becasues my comments against their pig GOD (lang lAng), and they came here just to SPAM. Is good you to know this to understand the reason we have the comments of these two sick persons.

    ytpiano7

  • Excellent!

  • Where is the music? She might have a good technique of playing piano but without passion and personal style. It's very robotic. Any computerized grand piano can play the same thing.

  • Where is the music?

Listen and write piece of deaf.

Of course you are not invloved professionaly in music. That´s maybe the reason you make angry commnets agaisnt this already great pianist Claire Huangci. Becuase i criticize very strong your God "La Bestia" or Lang Lang (the same thing) is no reason to be so ridicoulus to copy in a 99% my nickname, and come here to write nonsense, and worst since you are completely a diletant in music.

    Be more intelligent.

    ytpiano7 (the original one)

  • Hey listen fucker, you write your OWM opinion and I write mine, understand? . They are both monkey piano players. As the matter of fact all asian piano players are all monkeys. But this bitch should'nt play piano at all. The reasons is she is a woman. Kitchen is where they belongs. They should stay home to cook, do the landery, clean the house and be ready to be fucked by their husband any time he wants to.

  • Hay son. Your mama was great last night.

  • you are so childish, or was your mother underpressed by your father?

  • What a pitty the exsistence of people like you

    ytpiano7

  • Absolutely awesome,I do not play but I have been listening to classical music since I was a kid.Let's just say for MANY years. Her performance was brilliant..BRAVA !!

  • Great

  • She is just another chinese monkey.

  • does anyone know what the third piece's name is? I couldn't recognize it at all.

  • Sometimes i think whether it's really possible to achieve a technique like that together with the ability to put one's soul too... i am giving up believing in this !!

  • daim, she pwns

  • Does anybody know what is a name of the third work?

  • Stravinsky Etudes 4

  • Tu est envoutante!

  • shit...........she is really a piano, Not pianist..men

  • Comment removed

  • Excellent!!!!!

  • about 40 years ago i heard a pirated recording of feux follets. it was a mature richter in bulgaria sometime around 1959-60. this is the closest thing to it i've heard since. she's wonderful.....it's so nice to sit back and hear someone else play it so effortlessly, as it should be. franz would be proud of this recording.

  • She plays at a furious tempo, and her passage work is clean. Her "Feux Follet" is the best I've heard. Bravissimo!

  • For only 16 years old, that's fucking INCREDIBLE!!

  • Wow- thanks for this video! Nadyart, the third and last piece is Chopin's barcarole (boat song).

  • My mistake- it's not barcarole.

  • It's Andante Spianato et Grande Polonaise, Op.22.

  • Her performance is truly excellent. I don't know why she is not famous.

  • Well to be fair she's only 16 years old, she's bound to come to fame some day soon!

  • Excellent!!!!!!!!

  • Esta pianista tiene una técnica impresionante. Bravo!

  • What is there to say! Amazing girl! I´ve never seen such a young pianist with such ease and elegant technique! Brilliant!!

  • The talent out there nowadays is truly awesome. I'm new to Liszt, but I've figured out by now that the Etude No. 5 'Feux Follets' (second piece here) is one of the most devilishly difficult piano pieces, which many famous pianists declined to attempt. I agree with someone who says she plays it cleaner and with more spirit than Kissin - at least to my inexperienced ears. If one can do this at 16, where does one go? It's frightening.

  • And she seems charming, graceful and pleasant, without any ego. Why aren't the major labels fighting over her?

  • she's probably one of my favourite young pianists! Her feux follets is fantastic!!

  • What is the name of the third piece?

  • It's Stravinsky's Etude in F sharp major, Op. 7 No. 4 - a piece which doesn't get heard much.

  • Yeah, I love the rendition of Stravinsky's 7/4 by Jon Nakamatsu during Cliburn '97.

  • WOW. 10/2 amazing

  • Incidentally, she played the Liszt Etude No.5 and Don Juan in the 2006 Minnesota piano-e-competition also. If you have a digital piano and your computer has MIDI connection, you can download the MIDI files and play her performances on your piano. Too bad that she did not play Chopin's Andante Spianato there.

  • Who is this Bassman911? Did you start learning how to play the piano yesterday? It is terrible that someone who can't tell the difference between a 'song' and a 'piece', and who can't identify Chopin's Andante Spianato would think he is in possesion of a genius that towers over this very talented girl. She is very young, but if you think she lacks ability, you lack humility. And a brain.

  • My goodness! May I ask what competition this is? She's fabulous! In only one recital, she played such demanding works? What are the works she played in the other rounds?

  • this is some of the most gorgeous playing I ve ever heard.believe me people this is special!

  • that's hot shit...

  • Does anyone know where I can get sheet music for the last piece she played, Musica Nara?

  • that fourth song sounds like an embellished version of the raindrop prelude by chopin. very pretty, crazy strong technique but I feel her musical ability is a bit lacking.

  • unfortunately the Stravinsky is not as good as the other etudes. She didn't have as much control and hit many wrong notes, which seems quite uncharacteristic considering the technique she displayed in the previous two etudes.

  • which competition is this?

  • Thanks, houseofblackleaves!

  • Awesome! What are pieces 3&4?

  • In this round she played:

    -Chopin: Etude op.10/2

    -Liszt: Feux Follets

    -Stravinsky: etude op.7/4

-Chopin: Andante Spianato et Grande Polonaise Brilliante

    -Liszt: Reminiscenses de Don Juan

    -Tokuyama: Musica nara

This was my favorite recital in the whole competition. Pity for her third round... she could have done really well if it was as good as this one!

  • Wow she was wonderful... The etude set seems based upon Sa Chen's choice @ her amazing 1st round recital at the Van Cliburn in 2005...

    beethoven op.110

    Chopin Etude Op.25 no.6

    Liszt Feux Follets

Stravinsky Etude Op.7 no.3.... Actually this was the one that Claire played too, not no.4.

  • Yeah, I just realized that two weeks ago when I was going through the archived videos on the Van Cliburn website.

You can see the similarities from that competition in Huangci's interpretation, like her Don Juan and Joyce Yang (brilliant pianist also)'s Don Juan.

And I'm pretty sure that this is no.4, unless the edition of this etude I have is numbered incorrectly (which may be.)

  • Did she win the competition? If she didn't, there ought to be an investigation!
