est virginia is the most beautiful state there is. Dont ruin it. And as i said im half wv half ny. Raised in both. Family from both. Besides... We are all americans. So why fight?
Firstly please domt stereotype new yorks all the same. We are not the same. Not nearky all of us are tree hugers and queer liberals like you think. You wouldnt like if nyers called people from wv inbread or stereotype you so please dont stereotype us. Secondly id like to say i have an uncle whos a bolt pinner but strip mining is the worst. Wv is my home. Its half of my heart just like my town in ny. And to think of the mountains being destroyed makes me sick. Im pro coal. But not strip mining. W
tee hugin pricks my dads a strip mine cola miner and when i go hutin im hutin on the land that they fixed up after there done so suck it suport coal or sit in the dark minin is a way of life
these folks better learn real quick 1: you dont mess with coal miners 2: you definetly dont mess around with the Boone County Sheriffs department, they are not nice if provoked
This guy is a great talker. Loved this video! When they got arrested for trespassing oh man that was sweet. Who cares who you are and what your beliefs are trespassing is against the law. Yea I like this guy I am from New York. That says it all for me. The pollution that state has is absolutely ridiculous. The Hudson River is way nastier then any rivers I have seen In West Virginia! The smog wow, and yea the tearing up to build houses is extreme. Protest there it may help you!!!
IUt's not so much the trees for me, it's the fact these officers want to be able to do what ever they want so they don't want video footage of them running wild, it's harder to control like that. Say you get pulled over and a cop decides to arrest you, is there any reason why he wouldn't want to be recorded? Sure the camera man might be your buddy and wack him over the head, but if he kept his distance, what's the big deal? Is it stopping him from doing something he wants to do?
Wonder if this man protested ripping up the trees to build the all the cities in NY? There are plenty of undisturbed mountain terrain in WV. If he loves nature so much, he should dissappear into those mountains, and leave the working man alone.
In the off chance that 24985 is a zip code, ya live out where there is no Mountaintop Removal, near White Sulphur Springs, between two national parks and a state park, in the eastern part of the state. Now... If you love this MTR so much, move to Raleigh, Mingo, or Logan counties, or blow up the ridge across from your home. Real men don't steal the livelihoods and lives of neighbors.
24985 actually is my zip code, and I would love it if a strip job opened up right at home, so I wouldn't have to drive an hour and forty minutes one way to work. I actually put a camper at the in a holler between 2 jobs where I worked before, and lived there 3 years...Didn't bother me a bit.
Oh, just 65,000 a year. Didn't say that was my "home"...have to move to where the job I'm working at is. I'm currently at my "home", but I have to drive an hour and forty minutes one way to work.
Well, I'd have a hard time thinking that 2 jobs living in a camper misery would cost more than 65,000 for me. Granted, I have friends that make that at Wal-mart, working three days of 12 hour shifts, and being off the next three.
Well, here in West Virginia, Wal-Mart starts their workers of at 7 or 8 dollars an hour...I wouldn't see that adding up to 65,000 if they worked even 7 days a week.
Who are you trying to fool? 65000 at Wal-Mart? only in upper management. The rest don't get enough hours to be considered full time so they have no insurance. More lies from the treehumpers... LOL
Assit. Mang. And he's one of 8 at the one store in my town.
You're sure splitting hairs about the 8% of Walmart employees that have no health insurance, lower than the national average of employed peoples. Not to mention, there's also levels under him that still make more the 50,000.
Also, I've never fucked a tree in my life. Just because you picked a neat sounding screen name doesn't mean it's going to have an impact on every comment you make.
You're not lying. However, the only options in my area where you can decent money, is to commute that far, move to where the work is, or do as I did for 8 years...drive a tractor trailor...which actually put me in many states...but not home enough to have a life.
Thank you Roland for helping us on this campaign. I was moved by your words and your commitment. We need more concerned people like you from all over America helping on this issue.
Good luck on your march against mtr.. be careful on the road.
Wow, you know it is dangerous work protesting Massey Energy, especially deep in the hills of W.V.. I find it appalling the admin. is doing nothing about this it has been going on far too long. The Obama administration is wearing blinders on this issue. It boggles my mind that the law enforcement care more about their paychecks than the lands they grew up on and the water their community's drink. They are suppose to protect the people not the corporations. Stay up. One love

living in a camper between 2 job sites sounds like a great lifestyle. They must not pay you very much.

He's a Co-Manager at a store that profits about 2 million a day, so you can do that math on your own.
But I think the original comment was on the quality of the lifestyle, not the payment.

Also, your comment is just stupid.
In essence, you stated, "That's crazy! No Way! Except for this common, completely possible, exception I'm about to state."
