I remember seeing the end of this game live back in 2007. I didn't get to see Appalachian State upset Michigan in week 1, so this was a good consolation prize. I think this game had more ramifications ultimately since it knocked out the #1 seed, which happened a lot in 2007. Hell, if it hadn't been for some key losses down the stretch, the National Championship for that year would have been West Virginia Vs. Missouri.

Stanford had gone 1-11 in 2006, was facing a USC team that had not lost at the LA Coliseum since 2001 (6 years), and was ranked #1 at the time. Stanford was 41 point underdogs with a quarterback starting that had taken just a couple of game snaps in his whole career.....
