I've watched all the seasons and I've fallen in love with a lot of the routines. But I have never, ever teared up during a performance before. It doesn't matter what type of relationship you see in this routine, it's still heartbreaking and amazing. Kent and Neil were amazing.
@xxirishxgirlxx16 just the fact that someone actually stabbed travis in the back, inspiring this choreography. it's incredible how much of his own life he puts into everything
This memorable piece is the result of a "perfect storm" of the best contemporary dancers in SYTYCD history. Travis Wall who danced an Emmy winning Dance of Mia Michaels and went on to become one of the rising stars in choreography. Neil Haskell, an All Star who danced another memorable piece, "Time" by Mia Michaels and Kent Boyd whose absolutely perfect lines, centering and graceful moves belies his endearing naive personality. There is one person whose name we do not know, his dance teacher.
There are quite a number of dance routines that have come out of this show that I will always remember. This one has gone right to the top of that list. I too saw more than just friends losing something precious to at least one of them, but no matter what the story is behind this dance it is a true work of genius. Thankfully both dancers did the story full justice. Kent has been my favorite from early on and I truly hope he is the winner. Grammy
i was in tears when i watched this! its an amazing piece, i think its emmy worthy...(:
and that was mean what nigel said (even though it is true, but the way he put it was mean.) "did someone stab you in the back recently, travis?" travis nods "Well, I'm glad they did, or we wouldnt be seeing this amazing routine!" not a very nice choice of words, nigel.
@strwbrybabyg245 well, i love (as a choreographer) travis wall and it broke my heart when he nodded at nigel's question. i really didn't like nigel's choice of words "I'm glad they did (stab him in the back), or we wouldn't have seen this piece!" true but sad. this show has a bunch of good choreographers!!!! :)
