you guys are the pros i guess huh ? I am getting a Rohn 25G this after noon for free. My initial goal was to put a UHF / VHF antenna on it for TV reception. But after seeing all these videos ( well over a hundred or so ) I am thinking about learning to be a hammer and start conversing with you fella's. Nice tower.

wow if only i could put that up! there is barely room to put up an antron 99 on the back of my house which i intend to do next week.why not swing that beam of yours around towards the uk my friend you will find us between 26965 & 27405 on fm i spoke to the usa many years ago using just 4 watts and a half wave antenna.with the forthcoming solar cycle it will be possible to talk to each other on 11 metres.great antenna setup hope to hear you out there soon kind regards from adrian 26hi549 uk

I have a 40 foot square boom 7 element on a 40 feet telescopic (2 sec of 20) homemade tower and a yesu ft 990 with a yaesu 2100b with a ameritron AL80 but modified with 3 - 3500z the transformer its outside it will give me 6 kw all that for the 26.715 am yeap! and i have a lot of fun whitit.

I,m a amateur radio too. I have 6 antennas in my house roof. One is a multiband vertical, other is a Arntron 11 meter vertical. other is a Diamond vertical for 2 meter, and one dipole multiband, one for scanner and other for 6 meter vertical too.

But your tower and antenna is a big moster. Nice job,

I really like what you did with the tower. The tilt idea is axactly what I have been considering myself.

How heavy is the counterweight on the end ?

Is that a rohn 25 series ? or 45 series ?

Thank you, its a 25 series & I have about 200 Lbs for counterweight, 'll be using a 12volt wich & getting rid of the counterweight all together, I'm also adding 30 more feet to the tower.......

A pair of 5 element vertical Macos mounted about 22 feet apart on each end of a

There are many facets to Amateur Radio. Being loud, obnoxious, and unintelligible are not what radio is all about. I gave up Citizen Band in the 70's when it all went stupid. I can throw some batteries in my '817 and a hunk of wire in a tree and work all continents or I can stay home with a pair of 3CX1200's and a stack of antennas with 12 dBd gain. Now i can't wait for the comments back that their Maco or JoGunn has more gain. ROFLMFAO

Hams are conservative and miserable people and afraid of their radios. They will NEVER turn their mic gain past 9 o clock , they talk at least 9 0r 10 inches away from their mics because they are afraid that someone might actually hear them. AND a ham will stab his fellow hams in the back for any "proper" reason because EVERY ham thinks that they are superior.

Yes I have had a general ticket for a long time now and I must say that I enjoy the CB more.

If you have spent any time listening to the hf ham bands you will notice a lot of miserable old men trying to keep the "new" crowd out by by confronting them with sarcasm and a "you dont belong here" mentality.
