  • I wonder if Scott Pilgrim was there...

  • Pinkerton was Weezer's prime, in my opinion...so GOOD! If only WEEZER had know that.

  • this is one of my most favouritist things ever filmed on camera.

  • Weezer might have been one of the greatest bands if matt sharp hadn't left

  • canada has some things going for it........video quality is not one of those things

  • Was this recorded with a potato?

  • @jonstewertfan no. It was recorded in the 90s.

  • "I'm dumb, she's a lesbian" it's happened to all of us lol

  • @Steveazencho ..Nope, I'm pretty sure I have never fallen for a lesbian :P

  • @Steveazencho I should hope not

  • I've watched thousands live videos of tons of bands, so believe me when I say this video is one of the most beautiful things ever caught on tape...

  • I'm a straight guy but I CAN'T get over how hot Brian Bell is. Is that weird?

  • @borskyviolin It's paradoxical.

  • @emilLualdi yeah i noticed that after i posted the comment :3

  • mikey looks so bored :P

  • @flyingcamel5 there is'nt Mikey in that vid, it's Matt

  • It kind of happened to me yesterday...at least I was told pretty quick she was a lesbian.

  • I have a lesbian friend, if she was straight.. I don't even want to think about it

  • im in love with a lesbian FML

  • I got to see these guys unplugged in visalia california one of the best damn concerts i have ever been to rock hard and long weezerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • is this MOD? Man it's so full of shit now, it's weird to think they ever had stuff like this on the show.

  • so melancholy

  • the bad quality makes it a lot more awesome

  • That's epic shit right there.

  • I've been holding out on buying Pinkerton from iTunes 'cause I wanted the CD. I found it in the back of a Wal-Mart last week. It was old, dusty and dingy, a real first pressing.

    Life is soo goood.

  • @professorcookie god just spend time more on ya,..

  • i like this verson better than the original

  • been a fan for 2 years now

  • fucking beast

  • this sounds so good

  • i didnt realize the old bassist from weezer was russell crowe

  • Matt looks like snow lol

  • This may sound dumb, but I kind of like the fact that the sound quality is a bit crackley. It kinda makes me feel like it's from the 60's or 70's. Like they could have toured with John Denver or something. Maybe that's just me :).

  • @SirGambleo

You said exactly what's probably been on everybody's minds watching this video, though you're the only one able to put it into words

  • @LPfanatic102 That's very kind. Thank you. :)

  • I listen to a lot of different music and go through phases of many different songs that I like play on repeat for a period of time... yeah, this is the one song that is ALWAYS on repeat. I never get sick of it. Across the Sea, Falling for You and Pink Triangle are my favourite songs EVER I think. I LOVE WEEZER!!!!

  • this has some damn good counterpoint in it.

  • I was cognizant when Weezer was huge, but didn't appreciate them until 4 years ago. Hence, too late.

  • i love that back and forth, it's like bach

  • Matt Sharp looks like John Lennon :D

  • @MrWoohoo1995

Yea, Brian Bell looks like George, hah.

  • This is easily my favorite Weezer album. People just underestimated them cuz they expected to hear more Buddy Holly and instead they went less pop and more art. It's bloody brilliant.

  • i was born 93'. oh yestarday was the 16th yr weezer has been together. they formed on valentines day 1994

  • actually it was the 18th year; they were formed in 1992.

  • i dun no about you but who gives a fuk if nobody liked this album when it came out those dumbasses couldnt notice its amazing

  • What a voice!

  • I was born too fucking late

  • Actually you weren't. This album was both a critical and commercial failure when it first came out. Years later however, it was considered one of the most influential albums of the 90s. Really a clear predecessor to the emo and indie rock scene of the 2000s. You can hear it.

  • But I missed the blue era

  • True, I was really too young for it too. And Blue was great.

  • @Xrick56 same. in '94, the two year old me did not appreciate Weezer! haha. I remember rocking out to Weezer at like four though mainly because my brothers loved it... now here I am at 17, listening to the same stuff. It hasn't changed, it's still epic!

  • I was born '94, that's more then too late.

  • me too.

  • @Xrick56 me too :(

  • @Xrick56 Same

  • Comment removed

  • @Xrick56 yessss. weezer was the greatest gift of the 90's.. in standard deviation,,, taking into consideration the outliers that throw off the balance,,, nirvana and third eye blind..

  • @Xrick56 Me too, I was only almost 1 when Pinkerton came out. if I were born ten years earlier, I think I would be musically happy. But I like where im at now, dont get me wrong, just im in the wrong music age.

  • @Xrick56 no, you're just a pussy

  • @Xrick56 I know, bitch. I should have started fucking your mother years earlier!

  • @MyJohnsonable

How does it feel like living in the mountains man?

  • @Xrick56 It feels better than your mouth, boy!

  • Back when Much Music was quality.

  • not even close.

  • Rivers Cuomo before all the fame went to his head. Brilliant.

  • Well, the fame got to his head before Pinkerton though. After Blue's success, he didn't think he could handle the pressure of the big stage and constant touring. So I guess the fame did get to his head, but just differently during that time.

  • Wow. I had completely forgotten that they were on Much; back when Much was about music.

I never liked Sook-Yin that much, but I miss her now. That whole crew were the last real Vjs.

Weezer rock. There, I said it.

  • Weezer for life!! =w=

  • Magic to my ears.

  • i miss matt sharp's energy during performances.

  • Man, I love the Pinkerton era. I feel it's among the most prominent gems of the musical landscape.

  • completely. weezer in their songwriting prime.

  • Sometimes it disappoints me they didn't continue on in this direction. But then I realize that out of the the first two albums alone, Weezer's already given me more than enough, and then I just say "Thanks Weezer".

  • hahahaha that is so fucking true

  • thank you for that comment, was getting kinda frustrated with weezer, and this comment just like made me realize that(:

  • Dude, I now must agree with you.

    Thanks weezer.

  • @skullface89 BLINKERTON tour!

  • @skullface89

Yeah i feel the same way. Had Rivers Cuomo blew his brains out after Pinkteron nevermind but you get where i'm going with this.

  • I know!

  • His voice is perfect. *__*

  • 3:19 Riverss face makes me cry ...

    oh stupid lesbian >:S

  • no if you look close they is six but it does look like theres only four

  • it looks like Brian only has 4 strings on his guitar. is it just the video quality?

  • yeah the last 2 are too thin to see in this.

  • weres pat

  • this image seems of 80 years...

  • whatever you want --' ... the way i spell weezer isn't important ... but the way I love weezer is "powerfull" and important ... maybe you'll understand one day what I'm talking about ... But I'm really sorry ... I worte "wezzer" instead of WEEZER ... so I apologize

  • Oh My God ... Rivers is so beautiful ... he knows how to rock and sings and Brian is fu**ing amazing with his guitar ... This is the best band ever LOVE WEZZER OR DIE !

  • Comment removed

  • worst comment ever

  • hell yea matt sharp is the man!

  • nahhh its all about mikey welsh

  • i just never liked him, thought he never fit in

  • i love the quality of this video, picture and sound wise. very warm feeling

  • Where's Pat?

  • i think blue and pinkerton, really defines their band..

    weezer rocks!!

  • Was this shot on flippin 8mm? lol it's like it came from the 60's.

  • beautiful ... simply magic

  • i love weezer

    but love brian more :O

  • It's Perry Como. No.

  • An Underrated masterpiece!

  • okay quick stupid blonde question...rivers any relation to perry cuomo?

  • tits or gtfo

  • pinkerton amazing cause its so raw but really great songs underneath. just like in utero, not as good though obviously

  • I think this is the most heartfelt album I've ever heard

  • And that's why River was so devastated when the album didn't sell well. It was his most personal album, and yet at the time, no one really listened.

This caused him to want to make albums that would "appease to the crowd"; pop songs, that die-hard fans know for sure aren't what Rivers really wanted.

No matter what though, Blue and Pinkerton will always be their best and most well-remembered albums.

  • i wish they could make more pinkerton-esque albums

  • Oh and I forgot to mention Songs From the Black Hole, which is just legendary.

  • awesome

  • awesome,.shut up you damn commentator!!!,,,..

  • you mean the new guy thats been in the band 8 years now?

  • Isn it weird that all of those kids watching are probably like 30 right now.

  • I know, I'm like an old bastard now, I wasn't there, but still

  • Comment removed

  • that's raw

  • beautiful

  • I really hate Matt. By all accounts, he is a very greedy man.

  • It's funny because this song actually happened to me.

  • ha, sorry

  • dude same man, it sucks. i like that i can really relate to this song though.

  • lol it happend to me and on top of that it was released on my birthday back in 1997 lol i know spooky

  • Matt was actually awesome, and still is. The Rentals and his solo stuff is great and better than a lot of music Weezer have put out since his departure. There's absolutely no reason for him to be in this performance when there's only a few lines for him to back up. Why not give him another guitar, or (obviously) and acoustic bass. Really doesn't make sense for him to be there at all, should've just been Brian and Rivers if you're not going to give Matt anything worthwhile to do.

  • I remember this performance and they were doing an interview as well as some songs so that's why Matt doesn't have a bass.

  • theres no way in hell matt sharps solo carrer is better then weezers music, hes is great... But you have to keep in mind rivers wrote everything so dont be so harsh

  • Of course.

I meant that a lot of stuff Matt has done has been better than Weezer SINCE he left. Obviously he's never done anything of the quality of Blue or Pinkerton, but he's a really talented songwriter, even if not quite as good as Rivers. Weezer aren't really the same without him, even though Scott is badass. =P Still love Weezer by the way, even though they're obviously not quite as good/fresh etc as the first few records, they can still make a brilliant album to be fair.

  • You don't know anything, save your opinions for when you have the facts.

  • the bass player is an ass

  • robin williams! :)

  • Matt Sharp was a frustrated singer, he so wanted to be the lead guy, he did anything to distract from everyone else; sometimes it worked, but after awhile it just got annoying. Shame really , I like his playing, but he was lucky to be on the two best W albums.

  • where did you learn this? I had no idea, this is interesting. Though I still think he made a great asset to the band at the time.

  • I absolutely agree, he's great entertainment. The El Scorcho/Undone videos are particularly revealing, though; it's a personal observation, no more, he looks like he really needed the Rentals to happen. Still miss him.

  • great song...interesting cuz I have the same feelings about straight women! :)

  • its not the acoustic session,,its the band that rocks,,,,

  • im fuckin stupid shes a lesbian

  • IM DUMPED SHES A LESBIAN
