But doesn't it work that way with any game? A boss beats you, it goes to a game over screen, you press "resume game" it takes you back to the beginning of the battle (ie, both have full health), and you have to try again?

Same thing in my opinion. PoP has a lot of things it can do better, but I find that argument of "it's too easy because you can't die" a little ridiculous.
