i was a cadet on camp in shropshire , west midlands any way heard a big roar next thing we know one of these low level exactly the same as this flew over so low you could see the orange lights in the cockpit ... best camp ever !
If the pilots weren't properly trained, and the planes weren't built as well as they are, they couldn't pull these maneuvers off. Low passes by aircraft rock.
they fly up and down the dales in derbyshire. usually following a river. they usually fly past my house regually during the summer, tornados, hercules, harriers, lynx and chinook helicopters. sometimes they will come in 1 or 2's i've seen 4 at a time. I love it!
Wow what a pleasant child, and so articulate too! Have you always had that attitude, or has it been finely honed into the obviously nasty piece of work we see displayed before us now?
I'd be very interested to know how you see planes crash all the time in the UK, are in attendance for each one?
Who am I? Someone who's spent a lot longer in the forces than you, and watched good friends die, though when I look at your attitude I really wonder why we bother!
We go all around the country. There is no set routes. We just plan on the day. Usually go visit landmarks and maybe pay a member of our families a visit at their houses.
If you were on the plane then perhaps you should check with your navigator :-) Yes Chatsworth is between Manchester and Chesterfield (nearer the latter). From Multimap OS grid ref approx SK260697, plane left due south having approached from approx NW. Doing a UK Google for 'Chatsworth RAF Hercules' finds another instance of a Hercules low over Chatsworth (on a Sheffield forum), so maybe this is a known challenge for crews?

Isnt that the big statley home down by the ladybower Dams? We fly down there on nice days when we can, really nice place.
andywiganer 4 years ago
That's right, the reservoirs are about 17 km NNE of Chatworth House. In fact you could pretty much follow the river from the dams to the house.
cwartcam 4 years ago
Err, I mean NNW!
cwartcam 4 years ago
yeah thats what we do, we enter LL at the top dam and follow each dam down and then the rivers.
