  • i was a cadet on camp in shropshire , west midlands any way heard a big roar next thing we know one of these low level exactly the same as this flew over so low you could see the orange lights in the cockpit ... best camp ever !

  • same thing happen to us on november 4 but was a lower

  • If the pilots weren't properly trained, and the planes weren't built as well as they are, they couldn't pull these maneuvers off. Low passes by aircraft rock.

  • fantastic!!

  • AWESOME!

  • I work at Chatsworth, and they do this all the time!! Pretty cool really. You also get Chinook helicopters flying over as well.

  • Ok - so you found Chatsworth,!! now plot me a route back to Lyneham.

  • hell yeahhhh everybody likes to see a bit of Special Forces Flights hercs in the afternoon

  • they fly up and down the dales in derbyshire. usually following a river. they usually fly past my house regually during the summer, tornados, hercules, harriers, lynx and chinook helicopters. sometimes they will come in 1 or 2's i've seen 4 at a time. I love it!

  • pretty cool

  • Funny...is it possible?? I was there this holydays and it was gorgeous...It's beautiful place.

  • probably!! bless im

  • Wow what a pleasant child, and so articulate too! Have you always had that attitude, or has it been finely honed into the obviously nasty piece of work we see displayed before us now?

I'd be very interested to know how you see planes crash all the time in the UK, are in attendance for each one?

Who am I? Someone who's spent a lot longer in the forces than you, and watched good friends die, though when I look at your attitude I really wonder why we bother!

  • the little buggers are always doing that

  • yep one passed over my house last night for the first time ever, did a sharp bank right and leveled out i though the f@cker was coming down

  • thats a good sound :>

  • WOW Flipin Class!!!

  • i wud piss myself if that plane crashed in the fountain

  • Yes cos a fountain could take down a plane couldn't it,...no, really.....knob!

  • who said anythin about the fountain takin it down?? oh yer....no1, think before you act the cunt next time ya stupid bostard

  • does anyone know how much further they go down the valley they must turn off before matlock?

  • We go all around the country. There is no set routes. We just plan on the day. Usually go visit landmarks and maybe pay a member of our families a visit at their houses.

  • You just got to love that sound!

Does the c130j sound about the same like the c130h?

  • No they sound the same, the one in the video was a K (UK H variant basically). J sounds much different

  • some pilot that some pilot

  • I was there at the top of the fountain steps and it was frfamed by the forest as it swept round to starboard. Awesome...

  • How old is this video?

  • It was taken at about 16:00 on 04Apr2007.

  • I live in Baslow, its a pretty regualr sight to see c-130's low in the Valley.

  • having flown in a herc whilst i was on an air cadet camp in august 06 at lyneham. i can tell you the view from the aircraft is even better

  • Isnt that the big statley home down by the ladybower Dams? We fly down there on nice days when we can, really nice place.

  • That's right, the reservoirs are about 17 km NNE of Chatworth House. In fact you could pretty much follow the river from the dams to the house.

  • Err, I mean NNW!

  • yeah thats what we do, we enter LL at the top dam and follow each dam down and then the rivers.

  • If you were on the plane then perhaps you should check with your navigator :-) Yes Chatsworth is between Manchester and Chesterfield (nearer the latter). From Multimap OS grid ref approx SK260697, plane left due south having approached from approx NW. Doing a UK Google for 'Chatsworth RAF Hercules' finds another instance of a Hercules low over Chatsworth (on a Sheffield forum), so maybe this is a known challenge for crews?

  • Why Was That Herc That Low???
